Hopefully that tank learns quickly, or else they'll be having a pretty rough time if they continue to do so poorly in future dungeons.

Best of luck in getting good groups from now on though!
Honestly - a friend's usually been offering to zoom me through my MSQ dungeons, most times, so I can watch the cutscenes thoroughly (made that alt to re-experience the story, since it's been years). And so I can avoid the uh... interesting individuals currently leveling their way through for the first time. Just sometimes I go in on my own and pray I get some decent sprouts. Thus far it's been more good or at least average sprout parties, than super horrible ones like that!

Like I said, when it comes to sprouts I'm usually fairly patient and offer what advice I can if they seem to be struggling. They're learning. Just boy, when you hit the ones who either refuse to listen or refused to learn during their leveling process, it's uh. It's a trip alright.

To be fair on that end, a lot of classes have little to no AoE in that level range. It's painful.

Decided to pick up the gunblade about two days ago. Hadn't really been tanking for a long time so I decided "Eh, what the hell, let's have some fun." Currently at lv69. Been having some really nice dungeon runs, especially with people new to the duties, but I have to say one of my recent highlights was a Doma Castle run. Group is me, a SCH, a BLM (new to the duty) and a RDM. I feel confident in the AoE capability of the group so I decide to do a risky venture of pulling the colossus, three mooks and the mecha units just before the first boss. I panic finger Super since I wasn't quite familiar with what SCHs can and can't do. Thankfully, the pull doesn't go bad. We clear it out, but the SCH does give a little complaint saying that popping Super there wasn't the best idea and that I strained their resources. I promptly apologize, telling 'em that I wasn't too familiar with SCH's mechanics and we had a chuckle over it.

Rest of the dungeon goes butter smooth. Trash packs are dying super quick because the beauty of Red and Black Mage together is wonderful. Poor BLM though, he got trapped during the second boss' mines and went on a ride, but he laughed about it and we all had some post-dungeon banter. Everyone left happy.

Another Doma Castle run, I get group with three players new to the instance, so I ask at the start how they'd like the run to go. I've been trying to make it a habit of telling the healers what sort of pulls I'll go for at the start of a dungeon/after a boss and ask if they feel safe with that, as well as asking if the group wants any info on mechanics or if they want to go in blind. This particular group's fine with mid to big pulls, and they do ask for some mechanics knowledge and things have a few rocky moments but we pull through and all talk about the story up to that point, various little other banter after the run and they thank me for the tips and info on mechanics.

Now for the major flub story: Violet Tides while I was lv63 or 4 on GNB. I forget the full party comp, but the healer was a WHM. During the first double pull the WHM was spamming Holy. (Good, extra damage makes stuff die faster), but in retrospect I forgot about a little thing called "Stun resistance" buildup. So, when it came time for the snake to do its big AoE, my muscle memory for the pull is to just hit it wit the oGCD stun.. But I see "Stun (Fully Resisted) and die to the AoE+Mob hits. I give a light laugh, explaining what happened and that I'll be more aware next time and everything went fine.

Final story: Helping some people with their first time in The Vault. Back when I was still super early leveling GNB. Run's going well, then we get to the last boss. I had explained chain mechanic in advance.. and the group sort of had a brainfart. Needless to say, boss was on low HP, I was getting close to death but I didn't want to give up. I decide to pop Super and manage to secure the win. It was a butt clench moment but damn did it feel good.

I did my Titan fight trial (The Navel), after checking some guides and watching a few video guides. You know, in case there's anything nasty to watch out for. Glad I did, cause it let me know how to recognize the cone attack and what to do when Titan jumps. Well, the Trial was going very well. Then the third time Titan jumped, I didn't quite get positioned right. I was too close to the center of the arena, thus got hit with more of the attack. Fairly heavy damage and some serious knock back, naturally. And to my absolute terror, it looked like I was going to fly off the edge. My char stopped JUST at the edge of the arena, as in maybe a pixel away from falling to my death. I... almost had to change my underwear at that moment. Other then that, things went swimmingly. Afterwords we all hung about to chat for a few minutes, and had a good laugh about how close I came to dying. Nor was I the only one. Our healer got hit by Landslide (the cone) once, and almost went flying off as well. And our tank almost did a header off the edge due to his cat deciding to walk across the keyboard during one of Titan's jumps.

I just AOE everything if there's more than 3 enemies tbh, there's not really much use to minmax potencies that much in dungeons in my eyes when it will save a few seconds at most - and that's with perfect execution, like you said

I'm stupid. So in the newest 80 dungeon I load in. We all say our hellos. I notice we have a whm whos ready to heal and holy and I'm like. " AWESOME. I love you already!!!" So I go and start to pull everything. Here's the thing tho, somehow I get turned around and I ran all.the.way.back.to.the.beginning! The party was so confused but lucky enough I noticed my mistake and sprinted back and everything went as normal after that. But .... lets just say I'm glad the party was too busy loling at me calling myself stupid. The worst part is I was just running thinking " this is gonna be a good run. Healer is ready to go, DPS are perky and ready.. I'mma be awesome." And then notice I'm running the WRONG.WAY.

They had a good laugh. I'm still omging to myself. Otherwise good run.

You're right, stopping to use Demolish on every enemy in sequence would be a bad idea. For one thing, it has to be the 3rd attack in a combo chain. Which is why I only hit the biggest and most dangerous mob in the pack with it, then go back to aoeing with Rockbreaker for my 3rd combo attack when facing groups. As a monk, I don't quite have Four-Point Fury yet. Only a lev 44 monk right now. I got impatient to unlock the Dancer class, scrounged up the money to buy a level 70 Job Levelup for ninja since I have no desire to play a ninja or go through the rogue/ninja storyline, and have been using PotD and low level Fates to help figure out what the frell I'm doing as a dancer. Fun class so far though.

    Didn't get

World of Darkness. Last Boss: The cloud. Just an hour ago.
Me on Astro toghether with 2 friends (PLD and DNC).
The Boss was at like 15-20% when people messed up some of the meteors. My own group (B) was fine with only 2 dead people. Nothing to worry.
Group A on the other hand was completely dead. Thats when our ninja wrote in groupchat: "might be an LB3 healers scenario".
I look over at group A and start raising one of theire healers. Then all of a sudden our own Healer LB3 goes out.

    Me: "why"
    DNC: "for two dead..."
NIN: "all of A was dead"
Me: "you dont raise another group with our LB3"
    DNC: "LOL"
Healer#2 (the one who used it): "you act like people in these things actually use lb"

    huh?

So i guess he just used that LB out of spite (?) while the ninja (who btw had several jobs leveled) apparently thought that group limit breaks have raidwide effects such as rezzing other groups...
We still beat that boss without further issues. It was just weird.

what. Someone almost always uses the LB3 on Cloud, what are they talking about...

Yeah, sometimes an alliance or two forgets, but I always see at least 1 LB go out. Usually 2 or 3.

I think they were just embarrassed they hit it without thinking...

I dislike players that don't greet and just rushes in to pull every mob on that floor. I understand console player has difficulty to type but at least make a simple macro.

Is it normal for a player to join a CT raid with a lv41 weapon? Had a tank with all iron gear set but the sword and he was so eager to MT so I initially let him.

Well that was a mistake, poor guy couldn't keep the aggro at all so I had to MT instead oof...
