This tank just makes me sad. I was WHM in the Aery. Not only did I tank half of the mobs as the healer, he never uses any of his darkside skills (uses I can count on one hand, making bloodweapon kind of pointless). How... how do people get this far and not even understand everything they're doing is wrong.

The ONLY reason this worked out is because he single pulled (marginally undergeared) and I never got targeted for Sable by Nidhogg. Never uses provoke, barely does enough unleashes, no edge or flood of darkness, etc.

I think my favorite part is when he turned nidhogg around to cleave the party over and over, even when I told him otherwise to turn the boss around.

The how is easy FFXIV is weird that the game does not require people to learn their role or job because for the most part they will be carried through normal content.

Which creates the weird situation that I feel is an intention of the devs to have the good players carry the bad players through the content but to not let the bad players know they are bad they tune the normal content low enough that even a bad player will buy the illusion that they are contributing to the overall encounter..

Legit run into people all that that state it is normal content relax.

Was bored so I actually queued for DF... It really does Look like you are rolling the dice lately in the duty finder. I just left a party, because the healer apparently had selective healing. Wiped twice at the start to 4 enemies, then no issues. So, I thought we were fine to do some larger pulls - that was a most definite no.. we wiped. So I go back to singular group pulls.. and another wipe. Yeah, no... Look, I'll have some extra patience when it comes to new players, but it has it's limits. I waited 5 minute for a "tank in need" queue, then wipe 4 times in a 50 something dungeon... I'd rather just take the leaver penalty and exit the game (which I did).

Today my roulettes.. OH BOY...

Gen touching people in Alex: Eyes. Leading to a wipe.

A kinda messy but no wipe round of Kugane Ohashi...

The problem.. Oh the problem was Bunker.. Why are my stories here always about bunker..
First off the moment the place loads one of the DPS was confused why this was in roulette that they seemed to honestly think only contained 50 raids due to it “Dropping poetics” Mmmkay.
Gate drops. They insta leave......MMmmmmmmkay.. Whatever...
First boss is when I notice it... My co-healer.. an AST in Noct. Using Aspected Helios....
and again...
.....and again....
..........and again....
.............and again...
Everytime I looked over there it was... I don't recall seeing much cards drawn or many Divinations. Occasional Horoscope. Saw some Collective Unconscious... But mostly Aspect Helios... Over and over.. they were DRAINING their MP on just that. Stand around. Cast it again. Our replacement dps pops in “iteresting player” #2. a DNC. Who needed to be reminded to Partner up.. AND keep their step up.. -Sigh-

Its not till the second split group boss where I finally say something. “It works” is what I get back. As TWO DPS are dead...Uh... Okay.. When the boss dies the Dipsh-... I mean “Interesting player” #2 Complains about my lack of Medica II.... Uh... HUH? (“He's not wrong” Pipes in the AST, AHHHHH!) We have a overhealing spamming AST and THATS your problem... Oh boy...I'll be honest, and I don't know if its just me. In 80 content. I don't CAST medica II, and make it my mission not to cast it unless everything is going to hell. Most if not all dmg is handled with Assize on cooldown. And Rapture/Plenary+Rapture (If not single targeting)and unless you stand in a lot of stupid enough to collect shinny vul stands. THATS ENOUGH.. But sure.. I'm the problem here..

By the third boss I'm not healing anymore unless I see someone will actually die without a Solace thrown their way+ All hail blood lily. Cause why should we BOTH be wasting time overhealing.

Forth boss. AST dies (Not their first death by far), I leave them there (I'd been raising them before), sadly we had RDM's in the party so they never stayed there.
Boss is dead. DNC has some words of passing pointing out I was the worse WHM ever and insta leaves.. Our AST friendo is quietly waiting on loot.. I'm trying not to facepalm hard at this whole situation as I finally leave.

Bonus: Did I mention our AST bud had the full burger king crown? No...? Welp.,, There he is. Making them all proud! WOOO!

I just got out of a 35 min Dzemael Darkhold. . . good times this just reminded me why I never solo queue dps leveling roulette.

i do levelling roulette recently on a twink. one of these times i got into a lvl 57 dungeon in progress. i didnt reallypay attention to the timer but they were at the fimal boss.

it didnt take long to see what the problem was. the whm ONLY used cure 3. didnt matter how many players he had to heal or if we even stood in range. addigional he was often way too slow to dodge things. well the group staied patient though and everyone stayed til the kill. but yeah... the whm was pretty immun to advice. he kept spamming cure 3

So last night on my alt, I decide to que for Alliance as Tank. I..don't tank really. I usually only have one leveled in case my friends want to play other roles. I know the bare bones of the role but I'm under level 60 so I know its going to be Crystal Tower and I know those mechs and bosses enough that even my rudimentary skills won't wipe us.

We get World of Darkness, which is actually fine. I flub the first set of chimera because I don't stun ram's voice in time but the rest of the trash go down easy.

We get to eye-boss. Its obvious no one wants to MT so I pull him. Now most people understand that he has a straight line cleave, so keeping him facing one way (and in the center because of the room wide floor color mech) is pretty much essential. Unfortunately one of the tanks pulls aggro off me and I have to fight a bit due to my gear to get it back (even with voke) but I keep it and he goes down with minimum fuss.

I figure a tank forgot to turn off stance while whacking him so fine. Honest mistake. I attempt to MT the room with Scylla/Xande and the void portals but one of the other tanks pulls her/him off me again and I again have to voke multiple times to get the focus back. I'm not entirely successful.

So ok. Someone else wants to MT. Cool. We get to Hydra and I hold back, expecting the tank whose been taking aggro to step up. No one does, so I pull. Minutes into the fight the same tank takes aggro again. Its obvious that this tank is higher level and in better gear so I finally give up and let them have it, even though he's got boss positioned wonky.

We get to Cerberus and I turn stance off, indicating that I am no longer MT. 30 seconds of waiting and finally another tank pulls. Its pandemonium of course but I have belly duty and I make sure the others with me don't get overwhelmed by the adds in there. We kill him and get to the final boss where we wait another 30 seconds before anyone pulls.

Like, I get if another tank wants the boss but what the hell? If you want to Main Tank, then do it but don't keep stealing my aggro when I'm just trying to keep the effing raid safe. I feel like no one knows what Off-Tanking means anymore. Jeeze.

they kept provoking off you because they wanted to troll the raid and shift the blame to you cus you're the MT and they "rip" the aggro off you just doing their combo - even though it's almost impossible to get the aggro back unless you voke yourself
you did the right thing by not playing their game, even if it forced them to actually MT!

Duty Roulette: Expert as a Healer (AST). Window shows up with a message to join a group in progress, 29 mins left. Nice! So I joined them, just a few mob groups before the last boss. Also, a random SAM joined. I was wondering: why did 2 people left this group right before the last boss?

Well, after 2 single pulls, it turned out, that the tank and his friend are mostly afk. Maybe one skill each minute. Almost no damage to monsters, the tank lost aggro and both players got hit by every AoE.

So we made it to the last boss. But guess what: The tank early pulled, the bard did absolutely nothing and both died a few seconds later.

So I wrote the following, because I thought, they must be busy in RL for some reason (which can happen):

"That I want to ask. [Bard] and [Paladin], are you there? because I ve noticed you stood in aoes and lost aggro to [Sam]".

Then I got kicked out without any warning. What kind of behaviour is that?

Doth thou remember thine thread about helping players learn how to play better? I saw you posted in there, well those players. The same ones who defend doing the bare minimum because you clicked duty finder so you disserve having the time wasted then getting kicked so you can waste more time in queue. Our fault for not "forming a social network" I suppose. Sounds like premade became most salty you asked them to push buttons, I would report for kick abuse then do as JP does. Name on a spreadsheet on a google doc.

Everyone loads into Stone Vigil, after the cutscene finishes for the PLD they announce they are new. Everyone thanks them for the warning and we go. First few sets of mobs my GF and talk and we agree that the PLD is getting eaten alive far more than they should so I inspect and they are missing their pants slot.

We start trying to ask them about the lack of bottoms, but they ignore us till we get through the first boss battered but intact. The MCH does something I didn't think of and initiates a ready check and says, 'We've been trying to ask you questions."

PLD: "Sorry. What were you asking?"
MCH: ""We're here to help you. Where are your pants?"

Turns out because all they had were either a pant/boot hybrid or the boots, they thought the boots solo were better. So we get them into hybrid piece and things take a turn for the better.

Second boss: I call out to pull the boss away from the cannons, the tank responds and does so. We clear the boss and a Vigil Skirt drops. Everyone makes sure the tank gets it.

Me: "Now wear the skirt with the boots you wore at the start."

They do.
GF: "There's the sugar!"
prompting a chuckle from everybody.

Get to Ishbard and the tank starts with the dragon in the middle and I eat a frost breath to the face, because I got sloppy. I again call out 'bring them to a wall and face them at the wall.'

And the tank does!

Finish the run without incident and I do comm the tank, despite the rough start they were willing to listen and work with all of us to be better in the run.
