The Aery.

I was DNC, my friend was PLD. We got a WHM and a BRD with us.

WHM seems a bit understuffed but it's OK. But then, I checked his gear, and it was quite... unsettling. A bit understuff yeah, but the jewels were for melee, and he even had fire materias in everything. You know, those materias that don't exist in the game anymore.
It was like seeing an alien to be honest.

I tried to explain but it didn't seem to go throught, so we do our best in the dungeon.

Then comes the fight against Nidhogg.

After three wipes, I try to explain to the WHM how to play, since I keep seeing them using Holy for nothing, Surecast before the boss and using Benediction on himself (also before the boss). Nothing else but Cure III.
He tells me "OK lol I'm no gamer"

I mean, it's not about being a gamer, it's about reading your skills...

Had to give up on the dungeon, it was undoable. Tried to explain again and again nothing came throught. Sometimes, you just gotta leave it be lmao.

Just a small gripe, but why won't people use LB?

Fought Titania today- we had her at 10%, we had LB3. The melees didn't go for it. I tried to use mine (I was on DNC) but I stood in a bad spot and died before it went off. Oops.

It's not an instant win at 10% anymore.
So it's not used at 10%.
It's not even an instant win at 5% anymore.
So it's not used at 5%.
At 3% it's instant win. Or you can do that in 30 seconds of well aimed burst.

On the other hand, I've seen groups fall to pieces on mechanics and WIPE even at 5%, and if the healer had used LB3 (that was instead used elsewhere) the run would have survived.

Pubby runs tend to either use LB on pulls, or for healers.

Speaking of no Limit Break in Titania:

3 days ago i was on my alt on shiva doing trial roulette.
Got Titania story mode.
Party was PLD, 2 healers i forgot, SAM, BRD, MCH, SMN and myself on GNB.

First try we get to the second add phase where they grow big.
Some deaths happend so we barely managed to kill 2 of the 3 adds. No LB3. Wipe.
The PLD then set markers for the killorder of those adds.
Since we had a SMN i pointed out to maybe use the Mage LB3 to hit all 3 adds.
Second try and this time only one DPS dies in between.
But we wipe again with one Add alive.
Again no LB3 the entire second add phase even though the PLD and myself wrote in chat (even with sound macro) to use it when it was ready.

I took the penalty after that and went back to MH Rise

PVP should honestly reward you based on actual participation...not sure how they would code it, but there should be a way to make it so that anyone who just AFKs at the spawn gets 0 EXP and tomestones.

In actuality, I really felt the next thing they’d do is to removr those numbers listed at the end of each run. Not sure why, just a guts feeling. I hope it’ll never come true.

I don't get people who do this. I'd rather try and die a lot then just stand there.

Well... they’re labelled ‘freeloader’ for that reason: zero effort but wants the rewards-players. Today I saw one of those again but sadly not once the game threw me into the same party nor team with them across my 10 runs so they thrived with that 0/0/0 contributions.

... Those afkers are probably the same people who think MSQ roulette should be axed, and the rewards redistributed among the other roulettes.

I cant speak for those people. I am someone who thinks MSQ roulette should be axed though. Make it a solo duty/semi-trust with scions/GC members so new players can run it without issue. Pull the Ultima fight out as a big trial(lahabrea probly becomes a solo duty again afterwords - though if you decided to rework it so that removing him first is what allows you to fight Ultima and thus put him into the previous instance that would be fine too) to serve as a climax of the ARR story. The only way i would redistribute any of the rewards(rather then just deleting them) would be putting some incentive exp into alliance roulette if it puts you in a 60+ instance.

But my solution in the meantime isnt to run MSQ and afk. My solution is to stay as far away from MSQ as possible. I do enjoy Orbonne though, so some of my mogtomes this month will come from there for sure.

A lot of people are just afraid to use it/want to use it for style points at the very end to feel like they got the kill shot.

The afraid to use it people are the people thinking they're gonna start an argument, because sometimes when you make the call to use LB, someone else has a strong opinion on why it should be saved/used else where. Then there's the per fight knowledge on when it's safe to use without dying. People rather just not use it.

There's also people who are new, and they never realize that they can LB. Then there's also people who just aren't used to LBing, since it's usually reserved for DPS or for special situations like tank LB3 in SoS.

Story 1: Got a 6 minute in prog dusk vigil, apparently they never started and had no tank. Was going to use my hallowed on the group after the second boss but the healer had other plans apparently. Was going to grab the ice sprites, double back to line of sight them so they're all grouped up. 2 seconds later, yooooink (rescue) about 2 feet towards a sacred soil they placed ahead of time. The many times when strategies collide.

Story 2: Why do some White Mages cast holy at range like it's supposed to be doing something? At least cast Stone then you might be hitting the bosses.

Leveling GNB (again, for like the 3rd time) on future male-bun alt, and dropped into a 12m in-prog Snowcloak. That usually gives me a bad feeling, and the feeling only increased when, upon asking "what happened?" I was met with "dunno, they just dropped silently".

Thankfully, no horror story to show for it! I suppose their old tank must have just had an emergency crop up - they had got all the way to the last two rooms before Fenrir, so definitely no struggling if it was only 12m in progress. The SCH was good, we managed to stun the guys before they turn into dragons, Fenrir went fine despite one person being new to the run. One of those times I'm glad my 'bad feeling' detector was wrong.

I will take penalty and bail for a healer that uses rescue in dungeons because they think I'm not going fast enough for them. That's my number 1 pet peeve. If you want to set the pace, you tank. Otherwise, you let the tank lead and if you accidentally aggro, you pull the mob to the tank. If you set down sacred soil/asylum/stars/doton down a good tank will take the mobs to it but do NOT yeet me in there. I will leave. I can't stand that.

Funny thing happened last night. Did Alliance Roulette as WHM, got dumped into Labyrinth (of course). Noticed immediately that my co-healer had the CNJ icon. It's not like you can change your jobstone once you're in, but I asked if they had theirs anyway as a courtesy (for all I knew, they'd go "oh, shoot, I was doing the unicorn quest and forgot to put it back on").

They said "no", I asked them why they didn't do their job quests, and briefly got silence... until they suddenly quit the game. It seemed like they wanted us to kick them but forgot or didn't know about the 5-minute thing. How do I know? They popped back in a few more times before finally just leaving themselves.

I'd say they were expecting a carry, but it would be weird to expect nobody to notice you're a CNJ. I dunno.
