Did some Memoria Misera with a group of four of us in our FC and four pugs in party finder. Had a fun moment on our last clear where most of the party wiped but I finished off the last percent or so as a dancer. And the dice gods rewarded me with the leg gear coffer lol.

I wanted to get my leveling roulette done before maintenance, so I queued up as WHM for the instant queue and to get it some needed exp. Got into a normal howling eye, so I thought it would be a quick and easy run... it wasn't.

The tank kept facing Garuda towards the center of the room, and the 2 DPS were constantly getting hit by the cleave.
Whenever she did the AoE: the tank did not hide behind a rock.
When the feathers spawned: I was the only one attacking them.

Even lucid dreaming couldn't save my MP, so I had to resort to Cure spam because I was literally unable to cast anything else, especially in the second phase when the tank tanked her at the edge and faced her towards the party, cleaving everyone.

We managed to 1-shot her, but it was close, and I simply did not have the MP to save the 2 DPS.

I normally RDM in 24 mans but I decided to do Puppet's as a tank for the first time. It was awful.

Apparently majority of my party was just... not good? I don't know how else to put it. They died a lot. We failed to kill our add on the first boss so it exploded. Second boss our party still had the boss at 20% by the time the other two parties were done. Only two people got a mapping achievement and I don't remember who or what party.

Timewise it honestly wasn't that bad but it wasn't a particularly pleasant experience. I was probably the only one in my party to not die, tank privilege or not.

Well, guess I have another story before going to bed. Got one of those parties that makes me hate people. Holminster. SCH has a shire codex and says "big pulls"...

It went about as you'd expect.

I blow all my cooldowns and super on the first pull. Wipe to the second. Had to single pull the entire rest of the way and even then got low every pull. We almost wiped to the second boss on the second stack marker because they stood alone in narnia and ran away with it after. Yay leveling roulette!

So uh, apparently I should start using Benny Hill themes for when all the mobs immediately hate me and I have to start kiting.

Yesterday I was helping my friend level his pld more, got Tam-Tara normal. Party comp was PLD SCH (me) THM and LNC.

After the second boss he pulls ALL OF THE EVERYTHING sans side rooms all the way up to the guarded rosary. Because I was on sch and we mistimed our sprints, he died and everything was suddenly mad at me. I kited all of those mobs back to start, looped around, and was running back to the rosary. Our FC tank respawned and came back, and as soon as he took aggro back I was spamming physick on him, but it sadly wasn't enough. He died again and lots of the mobs were still alive and angry at me. I made another loop and our tank came back yet again. We managed to finish off the mobs but boy, that was something.

And today I decided to throw myself into leveling roulette as AST. I get Cutter's and the rest of the party comp was DRK MNK and BRD. The room before the second boss the DRK gets overconfident with my healing and decided to pull the whole damn loop. Sadly my Lightspeed was already on cooldown and I realized he had already spent all of his cooldowns on the previous room pull, so uh, he went down like a sack of popotoes. The MNK and BRD shortly went down after the tank died, and suddenly I heard a lot of angry mobs coming my way. I ran like the weenie AST I was, having an angry conga line of mobs nipping at my heels for about 5 laps until the rest of the party was able to get back to me. The DRK spamming Unleash wasn't enough to get the mobs to stop chasing me and they kept wanting a piece of me until they were finally cleared out.

The MNK made a comment about 'not gonna lie. this was kinda hilarious XD'

I'm not gonna lie, the time I've spent playing BSF has given me some PTSD about dying. Some of you can probably imagine my little raen running for her dear life and a whole horde of crabs, birds and cactuars with angry glares chasing her. That was pretty much it in a nutshell.

To the Paladin in Paradigm's Breach today: are you okay?

You stood in almost ALL of the AOEs, and for the ones that hit multiple times/ have a constant stream of damage you just stood there not moving. Then every time the TB came up for every boss that gives one to each tank you NEVER used CDs. By last boss I decided to finally speak up and say," make sure to CD for Darker Note - it's like a TB". But you still did nothing. I can't help you survive with just Divine Benison, Regen, and a prayer. You gotta use a CD too.

They seemed like a lovely person and all but, hot damn mah dude, your spatial awareness is non-existent.

(Before that I had another tank that completely ignored chat. I understand sometimes chat honestly doesn't matter, but you shouldn't ignore or turn it off. I asked them to turn the shield boss towards center 3 times as we had 3 DNCs, and me on WHM. I don't want anyone accidently hitting that boss since our AOEs are so large. I know we can move closer to the front of spear boss, but please, just turn them center. Even with shield up and reduced damage we can hit them freely without worry.)

Kinda reminds me of orbonne when it was new. That tank buster at phase 2 of the last boss used to just DELETE tanks if they missed their cooldown, it was the funniest thing.

So I had a reasonably wholesome experience today in Duty Finder.
Queued into Levelling Roulette as tank, got Dzemael Darkhold. Examined the healer; noticed they were level 53 on White Mage and nothing else, but was wearing mogstation glam. My assumption was that this must be an alt, so I did my usual medium-sized pulls while paying attention to their casts. Survived the first corridor well enough.

First pull of second corridor, we wiped and I identified two issues straight away; they were spamming medica even when I'm the only one who needed healing, and were casting Cure II. So while running I gave them advice like 'if I'm the only one getting hurt, go for cure II'. Cleared that pull, and wiped again on second pull... they were no longer spamming medica, but still used Cure I and never used holy. This time we sat down a bit and one of the DPSes (a red mage) took notice of their casts and started giving advice too. They were probably grouped and in VC from the sound of things.

So while new healer was rearranging their HUD ("take your time", I told them), I gave them general healing advice like 'keep regen on me', 'use cure II, and have lucid dreaming ready if you're running low on mana' while the RDM told them about holy. When we finished, we clear this pull, and then move to the third corridor.

Third corridor I do my usual pull again, and once again we wiped. But! Improvement; they were now using their skills properly and my death was simply because they didn't know how to balance dpsing with holy and healing with cure II yet. I encouraged them, telling them that they now have the right of it, the basics, and the only thing they need now is practice. And ah, slotting swiftcast in.

Last pull of third corridor, they did SPLENDIDLY, and though there was a close call they managed to pull through without a wipe. Congratulated the healer, and cheered the other two DPSes on.

When we finished the fight, i sat around for a bit with the healer and the red mage, telling them to not worry about having failed to keep me alive for those pulls stressing that those pulls are usually done with more experienced healers. That they pulled through nonetheless is amazing, their progression through the fight had me feeling very happy, and I told them that what matters isn't that they failed, but that we cleared and they learned things.

Some might think it's somewhat mean to keep doing medium pulls when the healer is obviously new and that I should scale down but, the thing is that medium-sized pulls are the norm and I can't guarantee that the next party they run into will be as understanding. Might as well push them to do better while in a decidedly chill party than have them get burned when they fail to meet the expectations of a more toxic one. And given their amazing progress through the run, I can't help but have a good feeling for this person.

To you, dear newbie healer - - - keep going, and stay open to advice! You'll be amazing before you know it.

The scene: Puppets Bunker. I'm in Alliance A, we've got a bunch of new people who haven't played through yet but we're doing okay-ish. Nearly wiped a few on the first boss, I did a few dumb dumb things too because it'd been a WHILE since I'd done Puppets Bunker.

Then we get to the boss where you have to point the laser away from every other Alliance. Already Alliance C is getting annoyed, so is Alliance B, because a few of our people keep dying. No biggie, it happens, a bunch of us tell them to chill it a bit bc we're 80% full of newcomers. Someone expresses their condolences, mutual sighs are had, and we begin. And wipe.

Ok fine whatever. It happens. Then one of the other alliances points their laser AT US after we restarted. Alliance A? practically blasted to smithereens. Me, the tank, and a whm are all that's left. I'm tossing rezzes left and right, then we all die again. Fun stuff. Alliance C complains and says we died to a mechanic - I point out that we only really wiped because one of the other alliances didn't point their laser away from us. Someone then snarkily says that we actually died to the triangle mechanic. Bro: If half of us weren't dead, dying, or focused on rezzing because one of the other Alliances blasted us out of the universe, we wouldn't have wiped.

Alliance C then says "Youre welcome for the carry, Alliance A" after this boss, after we all wiped again, did our own parts and our own mechanics, and had no further casualties, DESPITE having newcomers. Gee, maybe it's almost like we weren't really carried, and one of the other Alliances pointed their laser at us? but thanks, Alliance C, you da best.

Next boss, vindication - Alliance B and C are dying left and right, Alliance C fully wipes, Alliance B nearly completely dead, and Alliance A was the last to be standing fully alive before we all wiped due to stupidity on our part. We go back into the fray, Alliance C still dying left and right, and I'm over here in party chat like "Man, I hope C appreciates the rezzes."

Rest of the raid goes just about as well.

I get one (1) orchestrion out of that entire raid.

Had a PLD(while I was on GNB) chase me down with their tank buster during the second stage of the final boss in Tower at Paradigm's Breach yesterday. I was the only survivor of their suicide attack since I went Super...not sure why they didn't use Hallowed...unless they had used it earlier in the fight for some reason as they weren't even the MT.
