I really wish EX mode primals weren't in mentor roulette x.X
Not once have I had a nice experience there. It's not that I can't heal through it (ofc I can) but that it pretty much NEVER ends in a win and in the rare occasion that it does, that's after wiping, people leaving, wiping again and again, more people leave, and so on. I get that this is probably the only way for newbies to get those wins nowadays, but still.
So, of course, I got thrown into Garuda's fight this time. Before the fence fell, I was praying it would be HM and not EX mode, but of course it was xD

But because things can't simply be nice for once, this happens:

Tank 1: you mt
Tank 2: nope you
Tank 1: more hp
Tank 2: you are more experienced
Tank 1: probably

We wait a few minutes(!). Both are PLDs, both have good gear, both stay in Sword Oath and refuse to pull. Just so you know, the "more hp" tank 2 had was less than 20 HP.

Me: oh come on, both of you are tanks, you entered a duty on tank, having to MT is a risk of that
DPS 1: wake up plz
DPS 2: go please
Tank 2: tank 1 has betetr gear, better stats and more experienced, she should mt
Tank 1: you just removed gear

And, to no surprise, yes, he actually did. Before, he had about 20 HP more than Tank 1, now he had about 150 less. At this point I was checking the timer to see if they could be kicked yet...

Tank 2: hp isnt the only tank stat..................
DPS1: are u real ? ..
Me: omg it doesn't matter, it's not like 50 hp more will save you. just go!
DPS1: just go omg

Of course, none of them move. We are nearly 10 minutes into the duty already, so I could initiate a kick, but honestly, I don't even know who should be kicked, because both behave like 3 year olds.

Me: when this duty came out people did it in not even half the gear you have, just move already

My - in my eyes - sound reasoning is not enough to change their opinion, and they continue to have a stare-off. My co-healer keeps wasting her buffs in hope to trigger a response from one of them, but of course they don't care.

DPS 3: go plz
DPS 1: fk u tank
Me: you guys are so childish, I can't believe it..
DPS 1: fking children

Everyone is sick of waiting, so DPS 4 now pulls. it actually goes well for a little bit, but ofc a NIN is no tank, and we end up wiping.

Tank 2: vote kick her and ill MT. she has better tank stats and doesnt want to MT
Me: you are not acting better than her by one bit..
Tank 2: then kick me. either way i wont MT with her here

Tank 1 FINALLY enters Shield Oath and pulls. It's messy, but it goes somewhat well. Halfway into the fight, Tank 2 suddenly leaves the party. The second he is gone, another Mentor enters the duty, this one being friendly and capable and we finish the fight without troubles and even get one of the 2 new dps players a pony
But still. Grown-ups. Mentors. And that's the behaviour displayed? >.>
Yet another reason to hate these EX trials..

I always get the derp who puts on MT mode twenty seconds too late and spends the entire fight trying in vain to take aggro from me while ignoring the other adds.

Because there's an unwritten law that you can always only have 2 MTs or 2 OTs in a df group, never someone who wants to MT and someone who wants to OT together

Well the thing is, you don't really know something is gonna happen before it happens :x

I think the Vault is just a cursed place for me. .___. And my friend.

Last night, my friend asked if I would help him get his WHM to 60, since it's the only job aside from a few crafters he hasn't maxed out yet. I said no problem, but I knew that meant The Vault. I dread going in there every time because the last five or so runs I've done of it have just been terrible. I never minded the place until all the idiots were thrown into my party.

Anyways, we have me on BRD, my friend on his WHM, and then we get a NIN and a DRK. I'm waiting for the tank to go and pull when my friend is like "TANK. WHYYYY."

The tank is in poetics gear.

It. Was. So. Scary. Just watching their health go from full to half to 25% in like two hits. I spammed my AOEs as much as my TP allows to try and kill the stuff faster. My friend couldn't DPS because the tank was so squishy. Anyways, we get to the first boss and the tank dies not too long after he morphs into his super giant form. Friend raises them while I hold on to the boss (yay BRD tank). Well, the tank sits down in the middle of the fight. We're all like "seriously tank" at them, and I actually take the boss over to them a few times and let him cleave them because, seriously? Then they logged in the middle of the dungeon.

None of us wanted to kick them because that's obviously what they wanted. So we carried on with me being the tank, since I was the best geared out of the party (lol BRD tank again). The NIN got locked out (said something about a glitch reset on the little guys in there), so it was just a BRD and a WHM. We actually got the first boss to 40% health before he crit'd me for too much and I died. I was pretty proud of us just for that because our teamwork was just great.

Anyways, we pulled again with the NIN this time, and still managed to get below 50%, but the exploding balls killed the NIN and then the boss kept targeting me friend for his little "Down for the count" move or whatever. So we finally kicked our poetics tank and tried to recruit a friend. They couldn't get in to our in progress, and the NIN's friend ended up in another in progress XD. So I left and rejoined on my DRK. The second DPS was another NIN.

We pulled through with no problems until the last boss (of course...it's always Emperor Zerg...). The new NIN kept standing in everything, so my friend was trying to keep him up, though he eventually just stopped raising him because OOM, and the NIN wouldn't learn NOT to stand in crap. We wiped because of this three times. The last time we made it through without the second NIN standing in things (though he still let himself get run over by the horses), but it was a super close call. Anyways, the minion dropped ( :O I'd never seen it drop before), and THE FACETANKING NIN GOT IT. ROLLED A 94. Needless to say we were all mad. I left with all three comms, but still. I can't with the Vault anymore. ;-; I didn't have any problems on my DRK. I wasn't squishy, and I used all my cooldowns properly. But. I always get crappy people in there.

I felt bad for my friend because he's had crap runs the last couple of times he's been in there too, so I bought him the minion off the MB. Because if anyone deserved it, he did. Keeping us up through all of that.

How come? I find that dungeon super easy. Even with silly party members.

We just have rotten luck with DF parties. Lately, a lot of the tanks we have been getting like to facetank everything. Which is manageable for us if we're healing, but then when the DPS decide they want to facetank, too....it's like "Look--when it comes to raising you for the fifth time and keeping the tank up, the priority has to go to the tank. Mad you're dying? Don't stand in the pretty orange circles/lines." And when I tank, I get the healers that care more about DPSing than keeping people alive. DPS as a healer is great. I don't mind it at all. But when that's all you do and barely bother to even throw regens on your tank... :/

It was never that bad for me before. I didn't mind it, and actually enjoyed it. But lately there are a lot of Derps. I don't find the dungeon hard; just DF parties make it that way. :/

The Vault can be a very rude awakening for a new healer. Once you start hearing, "Bitches must be purged" and hp bars start dropping.

60 roulette. Got Fractal (yay, haven't done this in some time) with another BRD, an AST and a mentor WAR
First 2 trash mobs pretty much melt away and first boss also goes smooth. All right, second floor. Tank pulls first set, drags it to the second (OK), further to the third (dude...) and all the way to the fourth set (nah dude, nah). Of course we wipe after a few seconds.
Next try, this time the tank only pulls the first two sets, but the combined AOE blasts of the I forgot which enemy are still too much and we wipe again.

the other BRD now suggest doing single pulls instead, and bam, tank bails on us and we eventually abandon
Meh, I'll never really understand this "gotta pull the whole friggin dungeon" mentality anyway...
