Decided to hop into leveling roulette as SMN and got Qitana Ravel. Ended up with a fellow dps which was a NIN. I'm not sure what they did the entire time, but I'm pretty sure they were just spamming the same combo repeatedly since I was basically pushing out 90% of the dps from start to finish. I never saw them AoE. I never saw them use their mudras. I never saw them do much of anything, honestly. And they were also wearing full 390 non upgraded Scaevan gear. I died a little inside, but I pushed through. Guessing the tank and healer appreciated that and I left with 2 commendations, but man did it take forever. My back hurts. I'm certainly no pro when it comes to SMN, but I at least have a basic understanding of how it functions. I hope that NIN improves, otherwise they're going to have a really rough time.

Their gear was fine, the problem was everything else. Stormblood endgame gear is adequate for leveling through Shadowbringers, and no amount of gear will make a bad player good.

Gotta calm my laughter down right now, but I nearly made a big mistake in-game just now and started chatting at this white mage who was constantly putting regen on me right before pulls. Like yeah, it's not that big of a deal, but it's kind of annoying.. I get the first hit in on time, but sometimes a dps or two decides to go crazy with dps before like just as the adds turn back around and I can hit them again, or adds are kind of spread, and this is mid-pull so I'm trying to keep moving to pull more.. like I said, really annoying - and this has been happening constantly lately with white mages.. Anyway, in this case I stopped like right before walking towards the last boss, because I had just about had it! This healer put a regen on me outside of the boss room! No more adds! I stopped there for a good several seconds, trying to type up a way to tell this person to STOP doing this, but then I thought "not even worth it, I'll get banned"! I didn't have the time to just sit there and think of some stupid way of talking around what I really wanted to say... ANYWAY, that wasn't the end of it.

We are at the last boss of Grand Cosmos (?), all going fairly well, until boss decides to jump to people. This same white mage, decided he would destroy most of the furniture that was left. I couldn't type in time to tell this person to not stand there, boom all broken.. BUT we had ONE bench or whatever left, so I'm all like in chat "don't let any of the furniture in the middle get burnt, or someone will die", the dps listen and move off to the sides, but this healer... yep, you probably know what happened. I proceed to watch the hrothgar SMN stand there and accept his death.

Just the way this dude first started walking around trying to find a piece of furniture then he just stands still, literally just stands still. I burst out laughing, I guess I couldn't believe it. THEN HE DIES. Maybe I shouldn't have been laughing, but just the whole moment, God. It wasn't that eventful of a run overall, but just the way that hrothgar died, all because of that healer..

Had a WoD run just now with some GNB in Alliance A that didn't bother waiting even for a second or telling C tank to pull and went for Cerberus. Apparently their reasoning was "I waited for PLD on the first boss". Like dude, is Cerberus the first boss?

C tank proceeded to try and take the aggro which lead to A tank complaining while we (team B) were in the belly. Meanwhile, someone asked to take the adds but apparently A tank thought that if they take both Cerberus and Wolfsbane they're gonna explode or something and magically wipe everyone. But, you know, no need to let C tank take the aggro from you, better complain that they're not standing in the right place while A tank themselves were chasing after Cerb risking cleaving everyone nearby while the doggo was just trying to eat.

This lead to an argument in alliance chat and when told that they should have waited and didn't tank properly their only argument was that they didn't cleave anyone.
They ran out of arguments eventually, their healer friend claimed that we can't read because we "messed up their names" and left. That healer seemed to think they are the center of the universe since just because someone says "you" it's automatically directed at them. They also claimed that they were "healing our a**es" while we had 2 half dead and one dead team member when we came out of the belly. I can feel the healing. And then they said that "nobody died". Lol I beg to differ?

Sure, we didn't wipe but we also wouldn't have such a mess with adds if A tank let C pull the boss, sigh.
And here I thought I've seen the worst in WoD already.

It doesn't really matter which tank takes Cerb. Sure, the typical strategy is A gets adds, B goes in belly, and C gets chains. You don't even need a tank in the belly if everyone who goes in there focuses down the wall cocoons, and there is at least one healer in there to keep people alive. The adds can be tanked by any of the tanks, and this is where the ability for on-the-fly adjustments is something all tanks need to practice. C tank could have easily just gone ahead and taken the adds rather than get into a pissing match with the other tank for Cerb's love taps.

Why didn't C tank pick up the adds? Literally why does it matter that A tank is tanking the boss instead of C?

About the only reason I can think of is sticking to the long-held tradition of A: adds, B: belly, C: chains and considering any deviation from said tradition asking for a wipe.

It's been a fun day in Duty Failure.

We queue into Trials. It's Tsukuyomi. I'm SCH. I haven't done this fight in two years - actually! I die four times. Twice to the tank cleaving the party, once to me legitimately messing up a mechanic, and another time to stacking with someone, being forced out of position, taking a risk to avoid the subsequent mechanic, and then failing. My friend was AST. She definitely hates me, but I guess it's payback for an earlier Bardam's Mettle run that she tanked as DRK. xP

I'm so used to tanking and being able to mitigate risk, that I've just forgotten how to play anything else now.

I had one tank today who was rotating his CDs in the most awkward way possible, used Sheltron once during a triple pull, and decided never to use Arm's Length or Hallowed Ground.

I'm going back to PLD. I could cry right now.

When I play as Tanks I very rarely, if never, play in aggro battles with other Tank. If they grab aggro for stuff that I initially grabbed, I just let them have it, no big deal.

Fresh from Castrum Abania, partying up with my FCmate who wants to level his SMN. I rolled in as AST to speed up the queue, but turns out the run itself has a different agenda: it's not a speedy run.
Matched with a DRK and DRG first timer sprout.

First boss, nobody even tried to take out the adds, let alone taking over the cannon. I took down an add on one side to man it, only to get fettered because the other add was manning the cannon and shot me down. The other three simply attempt to keep hitting the boss while its speeding all around the arena. Hoo boy... we down'ed the boss decently fast after I cannon'ed the boss though. (This FCmate of mine was a returner and forgetting about the cannon mech)

Second boss, this is where it gets dicey.
Meteor pads, only I and my FCmate stood in one, leaving one free to blast out in full force. The last open meteor pad was just about 1-2 yalms to the tank's rear... umm hello tank? Can't you at least... get that pad? Then boom. Well no worries! One going off is fine! I can heal through!
But of course, the small triumph in my head doesn't last long. Here comes the elemental mechanic, where we have to pick up an element buff that the boss DO NOT mention. Again, the DRK and DRG ignored this and keep attacking while eating the reflect damage. At least that DRG sprout was vigilant enough to actually STOP attacking and try to see what knocks him away. That DRK? The generic "Mechanics are for cars!"-type. He continuously eat those reflect damage so much I ended up not being able to keep up with all those dmg, coupled with incoming unmitigated tankbuster. Down he goes. This happens two more times.
My FCmate on the other hand kisses the floor as he tries to explain mech while there was bad stuff lurking on top of him. Down he goes as well. The next meteor pad comes up, without my FCmate to stand on the pad, two pads goes off and wipes everybody but myself. Meanwhile the DRK just got out from resurrection animation, proceed to poke the bosses so hard trying to get the aggro back with Brink of Death debuff. Hello? Do you know that [Provoke] exist?

At that point I stopped moving at all & decided to let the group wipes so I can better explain what to expect & what to do. We got a first timer DRG here, so why not?
As soon as I finished explaining, the DRK bails out. So does my FCmate because he did not expect the run would be so messed up over a simple mech + it's pretty late for him. Me? I had the slight urge to leave too, but that DRG was a first timer so I'm not gonna leave him stranded just like that, especially when I think this DRG is a decent player for stopping for a while to think, and adapt, and WILLING to learn. If any, I believe this behavior should be rewarded.

It took about 5m to get two replacements, an RDM and GNB. This time everything went perfectly smooth.
I know it's a boring resolution but.. it's just that easy. It only take a simple explanation or even observation to figure out how to get through the mech. But apparently even that is still way beyond for some individuals...
