You can also sometimes slip one in while he's in mid-cast and can't counter it, but that's usually more dangerous, since it means he's about to do something you should probably be dodging.
If the content doesnt require a tank break, and you dont think the group will need a heal break, then using it at the first safe opportunity is advantageous. If its early enough, you might save up another bar or two to use on the boss. Most melees wait far too long to fire off the move. When the content is newer this makes sense as the healer break is more likely to come into play, but this mentality lasts far longer then it is needed.
LB3 him when he casts the tank buster. Its cast is relatively long, and the tank is his only target.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
Considering how stressful it seems to be, I’m surprised it still get a clear anywhere below 40 minutes + no actual wipes at all.

Ngl however, if there are actual players in the same raid that cheeses ilv, I lowkey would hope the run would spiral out of control so I can at least feed on the incoming salt in the chatbox lol. I feel I deserve such amusement after they force me to run CT raids 50% of my alliance roulettes![]()

Pretty much when you're not going to kill yourself doing it and the boss isn't going to invuln it (looking at you SoSEX). Health percentage doesn't matter all that much.
Holminster Switch, I'm on an alt whm, friend was on an alt drg, and I had a random pld who kept casting Clemency on themselves at 80%. Never used Divine Veil either. Just...I don't...do you not want me to do my job so you can aoe? I have so many ogcds at my disposal and you're making them sad.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
It’s not actually that rare. A lot of PLD are self sufficient. There’s a lot of terrible healers out there so they learnt how to survive. Just glare when this happens and be alert.Holminster Switch, I'm on an alt whm, friend was on an alt drg, and I had a random pld who kept casting Clemency on themselves at 80%. What's worse was that they were mass pulling, only using one cooldown per entire pull, and they had popped HG when I started spamming Holy.

Fresh from duty roulette: levelling, thrown into Doma Castle
Rolling as AST, matched with a PLD, SAM and BRD.
"All's good. I love Doma Castle!" I thought.
Yeah, I like the dungeon. Not this party I'm matched with:
SAM
Not a single AoE skill came out from him. Always the 3 basic combo to Midare cast. Occasionally Meikyo. But please SAM. Your AoE kits are powerful & this PLD is wall pulling. Don't ignore your AoEs...mobs are dying so slow... And don't even get me started on how he kept eating mobs' AoEs like cookies. Yeah, I saw that Third Eye usage. STILL... oh well... /shrug & /facepalm
PLD
All's good until post first boss pulls. Ignored all of my Earthly Star. I even made a macro specifically for this occasion:
Guess what? One of those less common times to use Synastry and Benefic II.
BRD
She's the best of this bunch.
Second boss: the SAM won't move away from its Circle of Death AoE. It feels like everybody also turning off their brain and be like "What is mechanic anyway?". I was very tempted to just let the battle wipe by letting 2 meteor pads goes off, but I decided to let it slip until....
Third Boss: Yeah sure. SAM drops his meteor pad directly on the middle. The PLD drags the boss to the side and he insist on staying relatively closer to the meteor pad. Of course, he died. I could've rescued him to the corner with me and BRD sitting there, or even healed him to full (he's around 85% of his health at that time) but... I'm just gonna let him eat that weakness once. After that he FINALLY wakes up and start to actually dodging AoE. THANK YOU.

Decided to do a "quick" Trial Roulette as healer while food was cooking. Got Seat of Sacrifice. It actually went ok until the stack marker midway in p2, where only the healers and 1 dps stood in it and we obviously died, which was a wipe.
No worries there it happens, but just as I was thinking whether we'd finish before food was done, 2 others went "food ready sry" and dropped, so I followed them. Guess I'm not the only one who uses Trial Roulette to fill in time before dinner and didn't count on SoS
In a pug, this is pretty much always. No matter how well it seems to go or how easy you think the boss is, pugs will find a way. Lb3 is massively overrated and saving it until 10% only loses you an extra lb1 or maybe 2 at most, which doesn't even shave 10 sec off. For that reason I'll always hold melee lb3 until 10%.
