This is a fantastic community and if you had actually read a quarter of this thread, you would realize that there are positive stories in this thread as well. Next time instead of being lazy and making a blanket statement, take time to actually read the thread. I know reading is a difficult concept these days, but you should try it.

I tried to help people and give some tips right now. AST with mobs ran away from a tank, was pure healer and didn't use esuna till i asked. And this is result:

Most of these posts aren't actually about how "bad" someone is, I know I've posted a few about a newbie saving the day or a time where I myself did a stupid. A lot are also written as more a "I cannot believe this happened..." and are completely free of pointing out player names. I enjoy helping newbies and other long time players like.im sure some people do here, but sometimes I just need to share some frustration.

I don't know if I'm being oversensitive here, but I took my alt character who is lvl 63 scholar into Shisui of the Violent Tides just now. I have a mixture of Ghost Baroque gear and HQ 255 gear and a HQ 273 body piece, so not bad. But I was having an absolutely awful time healing the tank, who was lvl68 GNB in the 255 gear you get from unlocking it along with 195 belt and accessories.

This is completely unacceptable at that level, isn't it?? They could literally buy gear from the npc shop and it would be better... but their FC friend kept berating me because I let the tank get low and one notable time when I went to go grab the hallway treasure box, they ran off and pulled all those ninjas in the rooms around the corner without waiting, so they died. And their friend was like "well done". Even though they died before I could even get to the area to heal them... and we didn't even wipe because I got the tank up and healed the dps through it.

I'm just really pissed because I feel like it was 100% on the tank but they both blamed me and berated me and my healing at the end. I understand pushing to get scaeven gear... but 195?? that's just unacceptable.

Sounds to me like the issue wasn't so much with the gear but the players.
Subpar gear can be overcome by playing smart, and pulling big when the healer isn't ready is the opposite of smart

Sounds like another tank allergic to defensive CDs. Place on /blist and move on.

I was a new player once when this thread was ongoing. Read dozens and dozens of pages of it. Want to know what I gathered from it the first time around:

-Most complains centered around mostly one thing: bad behavior. Much less a playstyle problem, much more how people act like entitled children.

-Complaints about self-centered people. This is a mmorpg, which carries the connotation that we should work together and cooperate to get through a duty. Unfortunately, some would prefer being content to scream "u don't play mah sub" even if they're in group content.

-Complaints about, guess what, receiving backlash because they were precisely doing what you said: trying to help people.

Now it's not like I was a bad person behaviourally when I first started in this game so it's not like I was enlightened or anything but it did teach me that there are people who would like nothing more then give a helping hand but are very apprehensive about it cause they don't want their hand bitten, something I can personally relate to and understand. It's also why when back then, when people were giving me pointers, I listened and tried my best to execute their tips, even if it wasn't perfect.

If all new people can gather from this thread is people are demanding perfection, then either their reading comprehension is truly lacking or they see a reflection of themselves in this thread that they can't be bothered to admit exist.

I would honestly agree with this sentiment as the positive posts don't nearly get as much attention as all the negative posts do. But it's like that in life as well. People just suck.

I will say this. Though, I've posted in this thread venting about my own experiences, I've also posted about what an average player I am, and that I've messed up a LOT. I don't do savage or extreme content because I suck. Seriously.

What you are seeing here is the forum attitude where EVERYONE is this INCREDIBLE AMAZING player and they all do savage/ex perfectly and their only complaint is that they have to carry everyone else.

The in-game community is fantastic, however. Don't confuse what you see on these shitty forums with the people in-game.
