Did MSQ roulette.
Got Praetorium.
Made it to Lahabrea.
Disconnected.
When I managed to get back in I was sitting in Limsa without any tomes from the roulette.

I always worry about the people who thank everyone for the run before Lahabrea dies. It's like they're jinxing themselves for this to happen.
If by high expectations of others you mean the exhorbinantly high expectation to always remain perfectly patient and do absolutely everything necessary to carry abysmally awful players who don't care about their performance at all through any content they happen to queue into I'd be inclined to agree.
I had a nice CF story, but I'm gonna save it for later, or maybe I'll forget, but whatever. I'll bite back.If by high expectations of others you mean the exhorbinantly high expectation to always remain perfectly patient and do absolutely everything necessary to carry abysmally awful players who don't care about their performance at all through any content they happen to queue into I'd be inclined to agree.
That's the second longest sentence I've ever read in my life. I can't forget the first one, 12 years ago at Allakhazam back in FFXI's prime years, 12,000 words, all one gimunghugemungantic sentence.
You imply that the best way to approach these situations is through verbal hostility and I can smell the tension from you from where you're sitting.
This is not what I'm talking about however, I don't like carrying people either and I do it all the time, but I'm not gonna go full butthole mode over it because that's not who I am. If a healer will only spam Cure 1 in Qitana Ravel, I'll say something, and not be rude about it, if it continues I'm out. Not gonna waste time with that. Nobody has to do anything they don't want to do. If you want to be a control freak and lord over others, cuss out, belittle and go well beyond the limits of humanity to convince only yourself that you're so good at the game, be my guest.
lakshmi normal can fail easily, ultima hard can be carried by 1 tank as long as you get revived after you die from the stacks. So I'm finally back to Mentor Roulette, yaaay!
Jumped right in as Tank and got "Amaurot". Okay, there should be no pro.. what, someone already left? Why? Well, whatever. I pulled small as we waited for a new DPS. Then we moved on to the first boss. Final Sky and.. the Healer and a DPS are dead. Thanks to the SMN we recovered... aaand they are dead again. The Healer died once more and we wiped. I tried to explain the mechanics but both DPS already left. We abandoned.
I jumped back into Roulette, this time it's "The Minstrel's Ballad: Ultima's Bane". Wait, what? Seven Sprouts and I. Mentor Roulette is fun, right? We wiped a few times, people left, we abandoned again.
Third time's the charm, Lakshmi normal. This is doable. Well, at least with a healer LB3 because people ain't using Vriel when they should. Finally.
I really missed Mentor Roulette.
I think they mean 'plays as good or better than me' by high expectations. I'm pretty sure that's most people's expectation, actually. But consider that not everyone has been playing this game as long as others, can't put as much time as others and hasn't run the full course of content as much (this is me in any Alex run--I ran them once unsync with the FC during SB to just get thru them. I groan everytime I get one in Normal Raids). When you add that its both skill and knowledge of the duty that makes a win well, obviously vets know better and one or two can make it work even when its a mess.If by high expectations of others you mean the exhorbinantly high expectation to always remain perfectly patient and do absolutely everything necessary to carry abysmally awful players who don't care about their performance at all through any content they happen to queue into I'd be inclined to agree.
I think overall what we need isn't SJW level patience but just a general acceptance that not everyone plays as well as we do (sometimes almost comically so) and we can take it in stride and find a way through said duty or...not.
Although I think we can all agree that the bar has dropped a bit lower lately. There's been some grade-A shenanigans in DF lately. XD
If nobody has to do anything they don't want to do, then why do people play a game without actually playing it and just stand around afk in battles or not even try? These are the people you want to fight for?I had a nice CF story, but I'm gonna save it for later, or maybe I'll forget, but whatever. I'll bite back.

lv 50 omnicrafter black mage using lvl 8 healer gear. lv 52 war not knowing how to spam lv 10 aoe and turns me as drg into tank during second boss. healer didn't rage quit like i almost did when the tank kept using tomahawk on olmec almost killing it off the plate twice. and of course this was on leveling and i waited twenty minutes because dps curse. shockingly they knew how to solve the puzzle at the end.
christ.
edit: forgot the next best ring isn't until 39.
