It's times like this that make you feel that it's all worth it. IMO this was a good scenario, there was someone willing to be patient and give advice (you) and people willing to listen and give it a shot instead of being defensive (them). I'd give you a forum commendation if there was such a thing, the closest i guess is to like your post xD

Dude, I would've wanted to slap the shit out of him for the macros alone, much less the gear thing. Spamming stupid macros that play sounds = you can just go sit in the quiet corner cause I don't even bother to cleanse your Pacification. It's not worth the GCD when I could cast Broil instead. As for the hat, I mean, it's actually a decent glamour piece (it looks hella cute on that retainer) so why's he whining that you took it it? All I know is that if my tank suddenly started standing in everything, I would've happily gone on /a and said: hey, our tank is whining about losing the roll on some obsolete gear so he's standing in everything trying to wipe us. If another alliance's tank could take over that'd be great cause I'm just gonna stop healing through the stupid now.

It's a jab that every time people discuss DPS (Damage Per Second), some loud moron invariably makes a comment that they can do whatever the floating number they see is, and that it is better. Basically they think that their one time hit is their DPS.

"You only do 1.5K dps! I can do 8K!" Referring to their buffed, critted, most potent attack.

I thought it was a reddit in-joke because of a bard that said he did 1000 DPS per second.

Just got the Castrum Meridianum with another WHM, who was a "mentor".

Throughout the entire dungeon he only cast 4 spells repeatedly, in this order of Frequency.
Medica II
Regen
Holy
Stoneskin II

Even if there was only one mob left, it was either Medica II or Holy.
Never a single Cure or Cure II. Never a single Stone II or Aero or Aero II.

Now of course due to the Medica II spam, he was pulling all of the hate. First time, he died, I raised him.
Second time I barely managed to keep him alive through the onslaught of mobs.
I told him there was no need to use Medica II since tank will take all of the hate.
He didn't care. Medica II spam increased.
Third time he died again. He didn't even try to heal himself. I mean...he did use Medica II again but that's it.

Now, please tell me. Is there some method to this madness of spamming Medica II and Regen in Castrum Meridianum ? I mean, he was a mentor after all!
(This is half joking, but also kind of half serious question.)

I was actually going out of my way to Esuna it on the first boss and the trash pulls 'cause he was making an effort to pick things up (we had a couple things run around and smack some DPS), but after he was all like "friggen monks" during Sawtooth I stopped bothering 'cause that wasn't a cool thing to say. Those 3 precious seconds of lost deepz were not worth the attitude, imo.

He was an LOLMent, so if he needed it that badly he could have just went on his own healer. I could understand being mad if I had rolled Need (as I did have an i230 on) or if I had been dead the whole fight, as those are reasons that would annoy me personally. But I was healing and DPSing and I rolled Greed and won, so I don't really see why there was an issue.

All I know is that if my tank suddenly started standing in everything, I would've happily gone on /a and said: hey, our tank is whining about losing the roll on some obsolete gear so he's standing in everything trying to wipe us. I didn't want to make the issue bigger than it already was and I didn't want to give him more of an excuse to harass me. I also didn't know my co-healer or where they stood on the issue, I didn't want to leave them solo healing 'cause that's not very fair to them. :x

However, if I was with a healer that I knew, we absolutely would have let him drop dead and stay dead in a heartbeat.

I got called a bad tank because by me moving out of the aoes and was making the mobs for a fraction of second follow my moves and I shouldnt have been doing it.

Mind you I was moving and back to position asap so mobs were barely moving if at all. At the same time the healer *forgot* to heal me a few times (which saw me die a few times) and stood right next (quasi on top of the boss) to the last boss in Dzemael which then saw him taking LOTS of damages from the hits of that boss. His excuse was that he did not heal in a long time. I dont think it takes that long to realize that the buttons of a healer arent those of a DPS and that standing near a boss so close is calling for troubles.

I am not good as a tank at all, which is a fact, but not to that extend. It would be even funny if it wasnt that ridiculous. Basically asking that I do not move or stand beneath the mob when aoe generate...which when you fight the giant lizard is....uhmm hard to do.

And the palm, a healer using medica every 5 secs even if not needed, generating aggro as you can imagine and told me that medica was part of his Healing rotation and wasnt his problem if I couldnt hold aggro (he was wayy higher then me in level, It was in brayolk I was barely 33, he was fully geared lvl 200). So basically his Healing rotation was : cure +medica, cure + medica, cure+ medica and this every 5 secs like a robot..even when I had no need and the rest either or either of the two type of heals.

DPS that attack all they can, ilvl 210, vs ilvl 38, going full speed on mobs (BLM + MCH) and wondering why the ilvl 38 tank cant get back the aggro, using full spam flash, voke (mind you they kept attacking even during voke happened so nullifying my voke) finally, decided that I would let them tank...lol.


And finally, the winner of this day, lvl 60 WHM, consistenly using Regen at the very moment I was starting my attack on mobs to assess control making the mobs then run to the healer rather then follow me said WHM kept shouting at me how bad I am.

It was overall a very productive day.

I had a wonderful run in Sastasha nm yesterday...Let me just start by saying I'm still getting used to healing, I've never done it before..but I know I'm not this bad, So we load in, everyone says hello/hey/hi whatever back except the tank but I shrug it off, he starts pulling...I notice he is dying fast ..like very fast..I see him using cooldowns and what not but he is still dying fast through my heals. I'm confused why but we eventually make it to first boss, he brings it out himself and barely manages to pick it up so it aggros on me and I start healing, he eventually picks it up and dies in two shots and the rest of us follow shortly after. We try again, and he once again, dies in two shots and then leaves as I was about to check his gear. I looked up his lodestone for this so I could find out why he was dying so fast since I know I'm not that bad...turns out, he was wearing as follows, One level 15 DOW hat, one level 15 DOW chest, no hands, No belt, the Wethered Slops you get from the main quest, no boots, no right side except a cactuar earring...now I know why he died so fast....I bet you can guess who got the blame for him dying too.

That weird run when you're a 37 ninja in Qarn, and know all tactics, with a synced down 60 tank, around 38-ish (i guess, looking at her gear) healer and a 50 (maybe 50 something) Bard. Mobs go fine but the BRD dies on the first boss cause he doesn't stand on the glowing platform to remove the debuff, long story short: i explain bard what to do, tank dies twice, while doing a heck of a good job, on the first boss, My guess is the healer's fault, as I too have had to 2nd wind myself multiple times if i accidentally got hit by an aoe and the healer didn't heal me. After the tank dies again on the first pull past the first boss, with 1 bee and 2 stones, he leaves, because the healer stood too far forward and pulled the first mob while he wasn't ready and had said so in chat. He leaves, healer leaves, me and BRD are left for what will be an eternal queue probably, so BRD leaves and in the end, i leave and go watch netflix.
