Ran an alliance roulette on bard because I needed some poetics and got Copied Factory which was really gross. I forgot they added it to the roulette. Whatever, it's fine. We run to the first boss and everyone just stands there. We literally stand there for 5 minutes because none of the tanks want to tank. Why is it when I am tanking an alliance raid, the other tanks refuse to let anyone else be the MT and fight for agro the entire time, but when I'm playing DPS, no one wants to tank at all?

Didn't log in much the last two months, started playing again actively with the launch of the latest patch. Hooo, boy, those new Eden raids... specifically, Refulgence. I was getting stunned by glare mechanics, of all things, which are old as dirt by now, and I don't know how I kept managing that. Most of us running the trial were doing it for the first time, so there were a lot of deaths... including a few 1% wipes because of one reason or another. I had to actually repair my gear during the trial after so many deaths, I derped far too much. Sure, it's still the first week, but it was still embarrassing, and that run did not end in a clear. Ergh.

EDIT: Had a much better second run, and 5 of us got clears. I didn't have a billion stupid deaths (though I did derp for one of the mirror attacks. eff those mirrors), but things did get a bit dicey during the boss' soft-enrage; a few people were dead going into it, and 3 dps were dead as the animation played, but a healer LB3 got them up and we finished the fight. It's a very pretty trial, but yeah... eff those damn mirrors.

Thank God. I can't stand people sitting there typing out the whole fight.

I never typed out a whole fight. Just if there was an actual mechanic. Something like the standing still for the one boss on baelsars wall, or the glowing platform to cure doom in qarns. It would be literally 5-10 seconds of typing. Thats 5 seconds too much for some. This is all past tense anyway, i stopped back in HW at some point.

It does affect NIN. Both options for the third skill in their combo have a positional effect: the dps skill Aeolian Edge does more damage from the rear, and the Huton extending Armor Crush does more damage from the flank. Trick Attack also has a much larger upfront potency when done from the rear, although the positional doesn't impact the debuff it applies.

Right yeah. Its been a hot minute since I last played NIN, so I couldn't remember if it had positionals or not. That GNB is going to end up on every single melee DPS' blacklist if they don't change their attitude.

YA'LL LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ASTROLOGIAN.

So I've leveled AST to 80 twice and I still have no Hydaelyn given clue how people do it. I'll have great gear, be healing constantly and it still feels like my tanks drop like a fly. I hate healing with AST right now. I leveled it before the buffs, and then after it got buffed... and I just don't feel safe on it. Is it that I'm getting tanks that don't pop their CDs? Is it me?! I don't know. I just don't feel good with AST right now.

So when I got Qitana Ravel in progress while I was leveling my PLD on my alt, and saw that my healer was an AST I got a little nervous about doing the big pulls.

Of course I did it anyways.

I do the first pull after the first big gate keeper and I noticed everything is dying kinda slow, we have a SMN and a NIN and the NIN is aoeing their heart out, the SMN... Well, I don't know SMN well enough to say for sure.

We go on through, the boss dies a bit slower than I am use to, but again, Momma didn't raise no sissy.

We do all big pulls for the rest of the dungeons, even the super pull in the end. (If you run the last group of adds back a little bit the three gorillas jump down and join the others before they're supposed to.)

THIS HEALER WAS ON POINT. CDS ON POINT. HEALS ON POINT. I didn't need to clemency, and because the dps was a bit slower I had Hallowed for ever bigger pull so that gave a lot of breathing room.

I don't even know what just happened. But I super appreciated this AST.

I was changing my gear before heading out, and before they left they where like "<3" before leaving and I think I have a new crush and she's a tall leggy Duskwight. I very much enjoyed being your tank tonight!!

Playing AST after playing another healing job for a while, is like trying to translate one language directly into another - you can't always do it. It sounds like you had some tanks undergeared/not using CDs though.

Aspected Benefic is..amazing, that's all I can say.

Big pulls on AST is easy enough provided the right tools are available, namely light speed, earthly star, and well all the regens =p. If you do a big pull and the AST blew all their OCD regens already, then it's gonna be rough.

Got Dusk Vigil for leveling roulette, and wound up with a WHM that only cast cure. I'm not saying they didn't DPS (I mean, they didn't, but that's besides the point), I mean they literally only cast Cure. No Cure II, no medica when the party was damaged. Only cure. All day every day. FFS you're level 51, how have you not fiddled with any of your new spells?

My recent co-healer in THE COPIED FACTORY does that. Just Cure and Medica.
Granted, it was their first job levelled to max when I check bio.

Got accused of not doing my job again, since I was using glare. Yeah, I'd rather sit there and hardcast raise with all you dead, and have it cancelled. Better choice.

Blame that on the healers who actually don't raise at all. Yeah you're waiting for swiftcast, this is fine - but the others are anxious over whether you're gonna bother or not. I sometimes wanna say that swiftcast is not on a 5 minute CD to some of those 'no raise' healers.
