So just got out of a leveling roulette that put me in Sohm Al as war, my head still hurts from it. Had SCH, DRG and RDM for the rest. We get a new person notice, but no one speaks up. Fine. We'll learn as we go, as last time I gave advice I was give the 'you don't pay my sub' shpeel.
First pull to the drakespur things seem rather...off. I'm dying rather fast and realize after using all of my cooldowns to stay alive, the sch is having a hard time keeping me going. The loldrg isn't bothering to use aoes, but the rdm seemed to be more focused on getting rid of the first drakespur. Okay. I guess that works...? Same thing on the second section, I almost die as the sch is spamming heals from Timbuktu. I notice they've got some really expensive glamour on (ao dai and one I couldn't make out, which on my server runs for quite a bit of gil). First boss takes longer because loldrg doesn't seem to realize 'oh hey, I should probably use Disembowel and Chaos Thrust...nah.' Just your basic 1-2-3 combo with Doom Spike and Jump, and Litany usage all the way on the other side of the room. Alright.
First hallway after the first boss I try to take things a bit easier, but the rdm runs forward, basically signalling to me that he wanted more. Alright, so I go grab more and pull it back from the dragon that likes leaving lava farts behind. Same thing with the ice dragon, I pull mobs back so things are easier to deal with.
It is at this point still no one speaks up, and we hit the second boss. The second the red marker targets the healer, they IMMEDIATELY run away with it, and nearly die twice. Naturally the dps is still low because 'loldots are useless!' The dps and healer both have 60s, 70s, and 80s, and I'm still wondering as to why the hell the dps was still so low. Oh, and the drg was still using Doom spike quite often throughout the second boss fight. It is at this point the healer FINALLY speaks up about being new after I chased him around a few times to stack up.
'New how do I stack?' they ask. I screamed internally. After a bit of an explanation, we get to the final boss and I explain how to do the green meteor mechanic.
Oh dear god why. This mess...
Healer explodes from the first green meteor, and the loldrg leaves one close to me, making me having to run away with the boss...to which the rdm had the same idea and stood near me. He eats Abyssal Breath to the face.
'i died lol' says the healer. RDM decides it's better to dps instead of keeping the tank alive. DRG leaves another green meteor near me, and he just stands there...another explosion sound. RDM doesn't dodge that one aoe...and another explosion sound. We wipe. I'm sorely tempted to just up and leave, but part of me says to just get it done. I stay and we get back to the boss. It's at this point I decide to check the sch's gear.
A lvl 44 aetherial book. Level. 44. Aetherial. Book. Internal shots were fired in my brain. I get people lose stuff, but from the glamour the sch was wearing AND judging by their 70+ whm, they should have the gil to get even a basic at-level book from the vendor. I then remind myself that people doing this sort of self-inflicted pain and bear it upon others for a carry don't think with any sort of rational logic. I screenshot the sch's char sheet for a bit later.
RDM then pipes in about having to run away from the ground marker, which was something I explained earlier, and it seems to ding in the SCH's thick head. MAYBE this will work...this time. First green meteor set, SCH and RDM get the meteors...and spread out to opposite sides of the arena. I move to minimize damage, but then this gives the loldrg an Abyssal Breath to the face because somehow he thought it was a good idea to stand next to me. Somehow, we get another set of green meteors, this time the DRG gets one...and stands near me. I move, and the DRG nearly died from standing too close to the aoe because 'mah JUMP!'
We finally get to the wing phase, and after whittling down one wing the RDM decides to use LB.
I swear I heard a space duck quack in the distance.
We down the wing phase finally, and I pull the boss back to where I had left my marker at. However, the green meteor advice that was given earlier seemed to be suddenly lost on the rest of the party. EVERYONE that had one spreads out, with the loldrg leaving one once again near me, causing me to move over once again, and giving the RDM another Breath to the face somehow.
By some miracle of the Twelve, we finish the fight, roll on loot, and leave. Not a single comm was had.
To the DRG, please, for the love of the Twelve, use the rest of your DRG kit, especially your dot. It makes fights a LOT faster, considering you're 60+.
To the SCH, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF TWELVE UPDATE YOUR WEAPON. I cannot stress this enough. Also if you're casting your fairy support skills too far from everyone else like you were doing half the time, it will not reach the rest of the party. If you're new to a dungeon, speak up at the start instead of when the dungeon's almost done. It'll tell me as a tank to go easier instead of mass pulling from the get-go.
