Well, I just got out of Eden IV (Normal) pulling healer duty despite being a tank . Both healers kept going down and while we had a Summoner we had to beg them to try to raise the healers. In fact they quit raising the healers after two times saying "The healers need to learn how to quit dying."

I used Clemency more in that one fight then I have all year and every defense buff I had to keep the main tank and the dwindling number of DPS up. We didn't wipe but there were only three of us still standing when the boss went down.

I mean the summoner wasn't wrong. Their mana is a finite resource and usually one wants to spend it on dps as a summoner, not raising.

But both healers were down and they were the only one with a raise. And I think the DPS loss of everybody except the two tanks and another DPS going down, along with the Paladin off-tank having to use Clemency to try and keep those three alive, far outweighs the DPS loss they incurred from stopping to raise the healers.

I caused a wipe on Ex Ramuh. No one wipe, not two wipes, but about ten wipes. You can eat me now.

Fortunately, there were a few really nice people who tried to patiently explain me the mechanics, but I wasn't able to manage the orbs as a tank. I felt guilty and really wanted to clear it without people dying, so I felt a lot of pression. In the end I told my comrades that it looks like it's too hard for me and I don't want to waste their time. I'm glad they understood me and didn't try to threw rotten popotos on me. It was the first time I was feeling so useless.

Both healers were down, repeatedly is the issue. No one minds raising once or twice, but a bunch of times is just unfun. I'd personally rather cut the loss and restart the whole fight, or just flat out vote abandon/ leave if other party members are going to continue being terrible.

Not a tale from the 'ol Duty Finder per se, but I got yelled at yesterday for "stealing all the fish". And yes, you read that right.

I'm currently using an older PC due to mine being broken and waiting for replacement parts so the activities I can partake in are very limited. Gathering and fishing to be precise as I cannot really enter a big city or instanced area without risk of crashing. So there I was, minding my own business somewhere in the wilds of La Noscea, just trying to get some big fish while I got nothing better to do and I stumbled upon this fine gentleman. He was fishing too. And it seemed he had the same fish to catch as I was spotting him frequently while switching maps and locations for different windows. What a chap, right? No.
So after my third or so big fish I caught (in around an hour) I get this wonderful /tell from said gentleman that I should piss right off and fish somewhere else. I was pretty confused and asked him what was up. And his response? "Dude I saw you taking all the big fish and leaving none for me. Truck outta here."

I've been attacked for a variety of things over the years (and in different MMOs) but hot damn, I've never seen someone get all salty over another player having more luck while fishing. Maybe he should stick to freshwater fishing.

Had someone in WoW once utterly flip out on me because she had killed all the mobs leading up to the nodes that needed to be gathered. I didn't kill any mobs because they were already dead - by her - and so I just picked my quest objects up. She said something along the lines of, "You didn't do ANY of the work, stop picking those up."

Well, should have left stuff for me to kill. I can't recall, now, if quest nodes are shared or not in WoW, it's been so long. Either way, they respawn within 3 seconds so it wasn't that big of a deal, but it wasn't my fault I had no "work" to do, ie, killing mobs.

And that's one of the stories of why I exclusively play FFXIV now.

Making my first ever post on these forums. It's nice to meet everyone!

Unfortunately, I don't have a happy story. Recently, I played the "Four Lords" questline for the first time. The Suzaku Trial was a train wreck for me- she kept killing me via ring out. Thankfully I had a healer friend that kept raising me. Still, definitely not my proudest run.
