Yeah, no. I've seen too many people drop the tether trying to do that and causing a wipe. And I'm like, "Look at all this time we're saving." Because it doesn't matter, we out gear it so much, an extra ten seconds doesn't mean anything.Got yelled at for fettering Cerberus 'early' today. Yeah the free DPS uptime is nice. But given how many alliances I've been in where people actively don't realize he should eventually be fettered it's kinda a programmed response for me now to see an empty chain and attach it. Much like going into the belly even if I'm not in B, because even when I'm in B I often have to shout in Alliance chat to get the rest of my party to actually do their jobs. So I do apologize for the hassle but if you're going to do the long fetter, maaaaaybe tell the Alliance? Since it really isn't standard in most runs I've been in these days given how little it actually matters.
Why is it lately I get groups that someone will leave immediately if there's a new person? Just now I got a E4N run with a new tank. Moment the tank said "hey guys! I'm new" the one healer bailed then a dps or two left. The fight isn't that hard and isn't very much longer if people mess up a bit (especially since we had like 4 Raises). Been happening to me a lot with 8 man raid fights.
You've never been in a truly bad e4n run before, clearly. Why is it lately I get groups that someone will leave immediately if there's a new person? Just now I got a E4N run with a new tank. It's odd, because the normal fight can be solo tanked with half decent gear. I was solo tanking it just a couple weeks after release, though it wasn't always pretty with the mechanics we have to deal with. The tank buster and debuff is and was very manageable though by itself. Why is it lately I get groups that someone will leave immediately if there's a new person? I encountered something similar to mommy and daddy fighting in a df run a little while ago today.
Rolled roulette, got Dusk Vigil. Party comp was GNB, SCH, MNK, and me on DRG.
Everything seems to be going just fine, though the mnk really, really likes using aoes on single-targets and dots. Sch doesn't seem to rely on his fairy much, which is alright. We get through the first boss without much of a hiccup, then once the door drops to the second hallway hell breaks loose.
GNB decides to do a mass pull up to the locked door without saying a word to the sch, and sch somehow got left behind a bit. Tank dies due to misusing cooldowns and not using Superbliode (sp?), and then once the trash goes down, sch starts throwing a bit of a princess fit about the pull, blaming the tank for not thinking. Tank and healer, along with the mnk, go back and forth playing the blame game, meanwhile I'm just sitting over here staying quiet thinking 'what did I walk into...?'
We continue on without the tank while they stayed behind before the first locked door, and once we down the last trash to get the bossdoor open, a vote dismiss goes up, and tank immediately uses their tank lb. GNB tank gets booted and we get a darknut replacement. During the second boss I watch the mnk continue to use aoes on a single-target boss, and continue to do so throughout the rest of the dungeon. Sch continues to rely on Adlo and Physick spam, and the occasional Ruin and Bio. I don't think I saw them use any fairy skills after the gnb tank got booted, or aetherflow after that.
I got no comms for the run, but wow.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
I had someone push back at me for saying they needed to use the tether a while back. They'd picked up the chain and were just standing there until the last possible second, and the excuse was that we had more time to dps if they didn't stick it there right away. It was the first time I'd ever heard anyone say it, and considering a few runs before that, I'd had someone stand there with the tether until we were all flat on the ground... yeah, no, it really isn't worth it. :PGot yelled at for fettering Cerberus 'early' today. Every time I've ever seen someone try to hold the chain for more than a few seconds (which could just be targeting issues on controller), it ends up in a wipe because they forgot about the cast time on fetters. It's not like it's current content where those few extra seconds could mean beating enrage. Just tie him up and get back to work.
That suck. I usually avoid syaing I'm new exactly because I fear that, but lately I tried doing it and it earned me: forgiveness for all my deaths/mistakes, and even comms even though I sucked. And this also in Eden. Why is it lately I get groups that someone will leave immediately if there's a new person? Just now I got a E4N run with a new tank. Moment the tank said "hey guys! But then I'm not a tank so it might be it.
I don't think it's because someone is saying they're new, since that shows up with the Wondrous Tales bonus anyway. I do notice certain dungeons and content have higher rates of people dropping out instantly for various reasons. Tanks and healers are notorious for this since they get fast queues and many people just queue to see if they get something they like before they go to bed or something and it they don't like it it's no skin off their back since they were leaving soon anyway.
