Not a df one, but imagine being a healer at the Archaeotania big boss Tempest fate. Things are going pretty well, and then at some point a S Rank is announced in one of your cross world hunting linkshells. What do you do ?

1 : you are a responsible healer, and stay to help finish the fate for people not already having the achievement and corresponding items. These S rank mounts and titles need some hundreds of kill anyway, so one less is not gonna change anything ;

2 : you think only of yourself and suddenly leave to go to the S rank, not caring about your entire team that you left to die, contrary to all the beliefs a healer should have. This main tank (who is not a PLD with clemency btw) will surely survive against one of the hardest overworld mob using only the heals of his chocobo right ?

Today, i did see numerous healers choose the second answer, and of course things didn't go well after that. The next time i will stumble upon the previous fate, i know i will be like "Uh, do i really have to waste my time again to spawn the boss ? Or do i pretend i didn't see anything, and do something else ?".

Had a weird thing happen yesterday. Was doing Expert and we got Cosmos. I took RDM for a change and we were getting thru the dungeon at a slightly slower pace than usual because if there's a set rotation for RDM, I don't know it-- but my gear is good and we're doing fine. We get passed the first boss and someone throws out the comment that 'the RDM is carrying this' which I assume is a joke because my co dps is a SAM but suddenly we find the healer has left.

I can only assume the Healer thought they they were commenting on carrying heals (which i wasn't--I healed myself a few times during the boss battle but that's it). The other two are as stymied as me as to why they left.

That um. That wasn't for you healer. Don't be sad. T-T

I agree. As a tank in that type of content you really don't need one as most people will wing it. Same with dungeon bosses and normal raids.

The only time I ever see a countdown in normal content (where it makes sense to me) is really in new content mainly alliance raids. Since some of them can kill a whole alliance in in a couple of seconds if not handled right.

If I am able to I will usually start a 10 second countdown before pulling a normal raid boss if it's current content or at least semi recent. I have learned, however, that it increasingly more often just a waste of time, since a dps will just pull regardless, or the other tank who has said or done nothing since entering will run in 3 seconds into the countdown regardless of whether their stance is on or not. I will have to reevaluate my process I guess.

I loaded into Dun Scaith via Alliance Raid Roulette as a RDM. A few seconds after everyone loaded up, a DPS from our team left the raid immediately. We ultimately got the last laugh because while that DPS took a 30 minute penalty, we cleared Dun Scaith smoothly in less than 30 minutes. We didn't even see a second Connla add spawn. Barring a few others players getting knocked out, no total alliance wipes occurred.

I did Neverreap with a friend who just returned to FFXIV after 5 years, she and our healer got booted out of the arena on the final boss when there was like... about 25% HP left. Somehow, me (DNC) and the tank (paladin, I think?) managed to live for the remainder of the fight and kicked some BOOTY together!

It probably wasn't much of a feat to boast about but as soon as the healer went, I was like "oh sh*t, this isn't going to work" yet it did work. I felt so awesome, and I hope he did too.

Look, I have a WHM at 80. I know there's a lot of buttons you can press to easily heal massive amounts of HP. But UH, on the last boss? When the tank has died TWICE? And the third time, me - running as SAM - dies, and all that's left is you and the MCH...

MAYBE STOP CASTING STONE AND EVALUATE YOUR ACTIONS?!

Was doing Mt. Gulg on Pally the other day. Checked my party's gear and they all seemed pretty good so i went ahead and did the monster pull at the beginning. SCH did great but we wiped super hard cause the pull was still alive after rotating through all my cooldowns.

Whatever i'll just do double pulls then. The first double pull also goes down hella slow. I take the time to look at the SAM and BLM and notice while the SAM is aoeing their heart out, I'm seeing Fire IV casts of all things. So i ask them, "hey, [name] why are you not AoEing these big trash packs?" They leave immediately. I thought it was hilarious. The replacement MCH did great and we were able to do the massive pull at the very end.

So, did you know that if you take long enough killing the last boss of Dohn Mheg, he'll fail his transformation into the giant blob monster and become a harmless toad instead?

Yeah. Leveling an alt, got into a party with a DRK, a SCH, and a NIN, with me on MCH. Scholar insisted he could handle big pulls, but....couldn't. Tank got sassy about it, tried to pull big anyway, and we wiped four times on trash pulls. Ninja was using AOE mudras and Hellfrog Medium on bosses. I've cleared the place faster with Trusts.

As a PLD doing Trial Roulette, I recently had one of the most epic Ravana (Hard) runs ever. After Chandrahas, both healers flew off the platform, even after I mentioned about having a wall behind them during the Rainbow room wide aoe.

That leaves with only me (PLD), GNB, NIN, BRD, BLM, and SMN left. Ravana was at around 45 percent health. During the fireball spam, I covered the GNB OT targeted by the fireballs when her health got a little low. From there, our team dodged aoes, followed mechanics, DPSed our hearts out, and LB2ed the boss when it was still in attack mode (one of the healers who fell off dc'ed, and boss takes more damage in this phase.)

We beat Ravana in one attempt despite having no healer for the second half of the fight.

Edit: Forgot to mention I did not have Clemency as PLD because the fight was synced to level 54.
