Yeah, Alliance B should be conveyor belts. People constantly kill each other with aoes on the push.Is that that group that gets the sliding platform? My entire group killed itself by managing to stand in a way that would send them all perfectly in the middle while being targetted by the aoes. Everybody died except me and the tank. I had the presence of mind to just take the vuln stack from touching the outside ring instead. LB3 was almost up after that so i'm just like "y'all can wait a minute"
That sounds like your average run on that fight.![]()

IRL forced me to leave Orbonne before Cid (as monk) but maybe I'll take it as a blessing. First Analyze on Mustadio kills about a third of the raid, FOUR PEOPLE in the death toll were healers. Then on the second boss our tank is nowhere to be seen, tank stance isn't on, and of course I inevitably die because A: Our tank isnt tanking and B: Healers werent bothering to heal me.
Had to leave after the second trashmob. Didn't get a penalty though because apparently as long as someone else leaves first despite my party being full, I get no penalty.
Back to a few Hades Ex fight. Found out that the floor and ceiling are two worlds altogether after joining various.... pf runs. Also, no matter how I hate other phases (I actually hate ice/fire more than UniMani, as I am tank), the one gate is always that freaking phase 1.
1) my personal best run, hades will end this phase after bad faith (purple spiky). This can be done even if 1 or 2 people dead.
2) good runs from ravenous assault, where second tankbuster only hit once, and no swap needed.
3) average good runs where tank swap required but managed to avoid enrage. Usually expected for prog runs where aim is until Ice/fire and/or UniMani.
4) Even with people not dying (which usually does), still hit enrage because DPS check fails, this should be expected when people fresh prog p2, where they probably inch in due to good luck.
Not that other phases are easier, but if party did not imprint P1 fight into their muscle memory, then pass that DPS check, they probably cannot do the same to the other phases.
Anyway, gotta get myself killed again and again even though I have cleared it a few times, gotta get those near endgame weap for other non-main classes.I definitely did not do those because I am masochist tank, Idiot!
Personal 3 Mantras as a White Mage:
1) BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LILY, HOLY FOR THE SPARKLY THRONE!!!
2) The Kupo does not care where the Blood flows, only that it flows.
3) I will not heal you, I am prolonging your suffering so that I can nourished my Blood Lily.
I did a few tests, and for those who are on Alliance B at The Copied Factory, you can Arm's Length/Surecast the directional change of the Conveyor Belt.

Cleared E3S with some fc mates two nights ago and my static ended up clearing it last night, both groups clearing right after smokers. I love seeing progress for everyone and I've only dipped my toes into E4S and immediately hate it so i'm ready for the self loathing to begin haha.
It's always stressful doing DF with random folks.
I'm still learning how to play FFXIV seeing as I'm a new player (been playing maybe 2 weeks?) and don't really know all the terms and "optimal rotations" for my class.
So I was running Bardam's Mettle for maybe the second time, trying to level myself for more story. I was doing pretty well and taking zero damage, manaward-ing and dodging AOEs to not stress our healer. My party was doing great.
The healer sends a message DURING a boss rudely asking me "Umm. Quick question, why are you spamming Fire III?" when I wasn't doing that and I feel a little embarrassed. I can't really answer on console so I had to ignore it. Right after the first boss, my whole team goes down in a relatively small pull that I had no trouble with before. Which I didn't even notice happening because the tank and healer went down first.
It felt weird to be judged by the healer when I was doing my job just fine before his comments. I kind of wish people would let other players do their jobs and stop being randomly rude during dungeons where no issues were being had before. I want to have fun playing an MMO not feel constantly judged by other players when I am trying and not falling behind.
You admit you're super new and don't know your rotation. How do you know you aren't vastly behind the performance expected of someone at your level? Additionally, you are playing a social game and really should invest in a cheap USB keyboard to converse with others in cases like this. It's always stressful doing DF with random folks.

While the healer may have opened the discussion in a less than kind way, it's entirely possible it's a discussion that needs to be had. None of us started the game as masters of our chosen jobs; we had to look things up and talk to each other. Being open to advice is key to becoming the kind of black mage who can't help but giggle maniacally every time you hit six figure damage. If you're enjoying the game now, trust me, you'll enjoy it even more as you grow to master it.
If that was rude to you, you probably need some thicker skin. You doing your job " just fine" is subjective. Clearly the healer didn't think so, and you say yourself that you don't know your class. It's also kind of odd that a wipe happened on trash and the healer went down before a BLM of all classes. You didn't mention what rotation you were doing though so not much to say on that. It's always stressful doing DF with random folks.

You want to have fun in an MMO and not have other players talk to you/give feedback? So if you're doing something wrong the other players have to just deal with it instead of trying to help you?
Honestly, you're right. I should probably try and look up tips for being a better black mage. I'd like to be helpful in dungeons and not fall behind too much. You admit you're super new and don't know your rotation. I'll look into getting a USB keyboard as well! I hadn't really thought of being too social at the start but I should change that.
