"Them? Again?? Don't they have anything better to do with their time than to keep bothering me? I already moved to a flying mountain to get away from them!"
I just gotta ask...I've been leveling a white mage and a scholar over the past few weeks and I notice in Heavensward dungeons, the tanks basically melt. I do ARR dungeons and regen/selene carries me the entire dungeon, same thing with Stormblood dungeons. But if the dungeon is 51-59, I have to constantly be healing. Is it just me or is that normal?
Check their gear. Some people leveling alt jobs tend to forget (or can't be bothered) to update their gear, and going into a new expansion with old gear will get you slaughtered. And if it's The Vault (level 57) or Bardam's Mettle (level 65), those dungeons have a rather nasty damage spike over the previous instances, so bad gear becomes very noticeable.I just gotta ask...I've been leveling a white mage and a scholar over the past few weeks and I notice in Heavensward dungeons, the tanks basically melt. Alternately, you've just been getting bad luck with poor tanks. It happens.
I have no idea but I have noticed the same in stormblood leveling dungeons, and in susano trial, I got him from trial roulette one day and the tank almost died in first 5 seconds. I was like wtf happened, what is this damage and I looked at tank's gear and it was all lvl 70 gear. It just seems weird and wonky maybe it has something to do with not having protect, I have no idea but the damage from autoattacks was insane for normal trial.I just gotta ask...I've been leveling a white mage and a scholar over the past few weeks and I notice in Heavensward dungeons, the tanks basically melt. And if you're going to partner a healer... at least partner the Scholar. They'll be able to do more with it than an AST.
Well, in the first 5 seconds Susano does a tankbuster (called Assail), so that would explain why they were skirting death in the first bit since I've found very few tanks in the DF will properly mitigate Susano's tb's in normal in the first phase due to them being untelegraphed, whereas the tankbuster later in the fight is telegraphed by a 4-5s castbar.I have no idea but I have noticed the same in stormblood leveling dungeons, and in susano trial, I got him from trial roulette one day and the tank almost died in first 5 seconds. Though in general Susano normal hits fairly hard for being a normal trial.
Just had a run of Bardam's Mettle while leveling Bard. Wound up partied with a Dragoon that not only was wearing Shire Gear that wasn't augmented, but I don't believe they were using any of their skills either. I have animations for other players turned off, but I definitely didn't see Eye of the Dragon up the whole dungeon. They also managed to die on every boss and get hit by two AOEs on every part of the second boss.
I wasn't even mad at the end; it was honestly kind of impressive.
In my experience, the Level 50 Raids often have someone doing them for the first time. That said, it does suck how often they come up in Roulettes. Especially since, even if you don't do the iLevel trick, you could always do something like ask a sub-60 friend to queue for Alliance Raid with you in order to avoid other things.
