(Duty Finder RP) - If it's not slowing the party down, IDGAF. It's entertaining and I've done these dungeons nine million times already, please. Give me something to chuckle about.

Wiped in Tam-Tara Deepcroft.

The normal one. Not the hard one. I expect the hard one, because no one knows how to deal with the first boss (the archer). But in the normal one?

The gladiator tank couldn't have cared less where enmity went. Didn't matter when something peeled off to munch on the conjurer, she'd just stoically hit the one thing she was already hitting. At least the lancer knew to try and grab it before our healer ate big time crap. The conjurer and the lancer didn't care about dodging anything though. We wiped on the 6 guys in front of the cultist rosary, I don't know why. But when the tank died, the healer just stopped healing - yanno, LIKE YA DO. I press okay to respawn and only when I've run back to wait where the rosary is (and the last 2 guys that we didn't manage to kill before they killed us) do the other three start pressing okay to respawn.

Look, it's the second dungeon. I get it. There's newbies playing it. But like... this was just... bad? This was just bad all around. There was no sense of logic to what anyone did. I understand learning but none of them showed any signs that they were doing that. They didn't even seem to be trying outside of "I hit things with my chosen pointy stick!". Which is fine, I guess, for Tam-Tara, but it's not going to help them in the long run.

Edit: And to the tank who pulled all of Lady Amandine's mobs out of my bard LB...

Dude.

Come on.

There's, like, two places in the entirety of casual FFXIV dungeon running where it's acceptable to pop LB as a ranged DPS. And you took that away from me.

Wiped on 2nd boss/Inferno Drake the minute the tempest biast came out because why not. Whatever. Scholar was targeted on the wrong person. Whatever. I'm not - that's not even the point. That happens. Not mad over that.

I checked - they had dragoon unlocked. Furthering my suspicion they were a jackass troll was their rotation which was, and I am not joking:
auto attack, piercing talon x8, vorpal thrust x2 (not comboed), piercing talon x8, auto attack, piercing talon, auto attack, piercing talon, vorpal thrust, auto attack, piercing talon x10.

Words cannot express how furious I am that a) this crap can be gotten away with and b) people do this. Is this amusing? Is your sense of humor that mummified that you think it's funny to do this to the rest of your team?

It's not uncommon for people in Brayflox not to have their jobstone. Its a lvl 32 duty and generally you get the stone at level 30 and if you're not current on your job quests, there's a chance you don't even have it yet. (I've been that person, though it was back in the days of cross-class where you had to have another class at lvl 15 to even get your stone (for BLM you had to have a lvl 15 ARC).

I'm curious if the game automatically lists your job as 'unlocked' once you hit the correct level--even if you don't technically have the stone because that sounds less like a troll and more like someone who genuinely doesn't know what they are doing.

You need to complete the job quest in order for that information to be displayed on your character profile. Otherwise it will just show the base class.

They had their job stone. Which is why dragoon was unlocked. And you know what, I'm not even angry about the lack of the job stone (even though they obviously had it, because you don't get the icon for it if you don't have it unlocked - I should know, I have 6 combat classes at 80).

They knew how to wait and use LB2 on the last boss and were in level appropriate gear, so... yeah, no, really leaning towards the idea they were a troll.

It is entirely possible that they were just a new player who didn't know their rotation. Heck, when I started I was one of them. I would spam the first combo we were given over and over for 50 levels and then I realized I needed to change something, and change something I did. Granted, a full combination is better than spamming 1 ability with lesser overall efficiency and potency, but still.

Hey, we were all new at some point. But there was nothing like that about this lancer. It was piercing talon, and then vorpal thrust. No combination. No attempt at combination. (I THINK it was vorpal thrust. It's been ages since I leveled my dragoon, so it might have been something different.)

But it was just those two moves, and an auto attack.

I dunno. I had to learn a lot when I was new too, but I certainly didn't catch on to LBs for a LONG time past Brayflox, until I went and read up on them (after someone told me about them in game). (Of course, my first character back then was a WHM so I never used it anyway.) Honestly, same with appropriate gear. Embarrassing to admit, but I had a HARD TIME keeping level appropriate gear on. But note that I had JUST come from WoW, where you don't really buy stuff. It's dungeon drops pretty much from level 15 onward.

Arboretum HM. I'm tanking.

I notice stuff is dying slow on my big pulls even though we have a BLM and a SAM. BLM is doing fine, but on first boss I notice SAM is only using their Shifu combo. So no Jinpu, no AoE on trash, no Higanbana, and not even Midare. Just Shifu forever. I asked why they were only doing one combo, no response and they kept doing it so I told them to thank the BLM for their carry on second boss. I main SAM and he physically hurt me.

I was healing as SCH got DRK, NIN, SMN...
As usual it starts off with tanking complaining we got AV what ever I personally like AV as heals a majority of the time, however this was not one of them...

WE proceed through first are with caution tank attempts to pull no more then 2 mobs which is fine with me. Right before first boss tank decides to plant himself right outside the blue line hugging the wall and of course all the adds coming running , the dps are attacking a different add each, tank does NOT get agro on all adds so they begin to come after me..

I pulled the adds to the tank three times and did not once use there aoe to take agro..
tank dies I rez and then I die dps manage to clear mob and then tank starts giving me shit for NOT healing. Which I was healing, just cant heal when dead.

Seriously, if you cant grab adds on first part of AV you need some serious practice or go as something else.

I told the tank the pos of mob was bad and that I brought the adds to them to take agro..they just bitched about poor healing...and said not to bring adds to them...what?

A tank that does t pull agro should never tank imo..wtf

we got to frist boss and tank kept turning off stance we wipe I left immediately..

Ahhh. I bet they forgot to equip it or didn't know they had to. Or it could have really been a troll I guess. Usually I see them in higher content. Trying to pull Job dps from their base-class.

Still not fun tho. :\
