Got a positive one, whoa!

I've been queuing all night tonight for Malika's Well (Lv77 dungeon) over and over, grinding SMN and RDM to 79. Most of them are pretty meh, but nothing to write a complaint about.

Then suddenly I get an in-progress queue, 2 minutes in progress. Oh lord, what fresh hell is this going to be? It turns out the other 3 people had queued together, were all on lv80 jobs, were only there so one of them could get the Triple Triad card drop, and they had no idea why the 4th left. It was barely 3~4 minutes into the dungeon as I ran up to catch up to them, and all the trash was already dead by the time I reached them. Amazing! It's the fastest run of that dungeon I've ever had. Max pulls, fast kills, excellent all around!

Just finished a Mt Gulg on my freshly dinged 79 SCH with a PLD who did not use a SINGLE defensive cooldown. Not when he mega-pulled at the beginning (and only the beginning, baby got scared when he dropped low and only did tiny pulls afterwards), not when he refused to step out of the AOEs on first boss, not for any tankbusters. He died on the first boss due to his own stupidity but I managed to keep everyone alive during the res. Somehow. I barely had enough resources to heal everyone else during all of the AOE damage because I had to keep spam healing the stupid Au Ra. Oh, and he never used Requiescat, and spammed hardcasted Holy Spirit/Circle during FoF. Sigh. How do these people reach 80??

Got zero comms at the end, I'm sure I was blamed for any hiccups since everyone loves to blame the healers instead of the absolute dumpster fire tanks.

Doing my dailies on my RDM and drew The Lost City of Amdapor. While things seemed a little bit "off" in the healing dept, I didn't think nothing of it at first as the only things hitting the dirt was the mobs. I noted the healer was a sprout, so I just wrote off the shaky healing as inexperience. She was clearly trying as I was seeing both heals and dps going out, so I left well enough alone.

Until after the 2nd boss and people started getting hit with Paralysis. I was too focused on why I wasn't getting cleansed to notice the tank died. Not that I could of done anything about it I suppose, RDM's don't get Vercure till 54 and this was a level 50 dungeon.

I decided to chance saying something and typed out "Are you aware you are able to cleanse Paralysis with Esuna?"

Almost immediately as I hit Enter the healer asked "What was keeping me from casting?"

Ah, that explains much...

What followed was a brief explanation of what Paralysis was and what icon to look for. I made sure to tell her to cast it on herself first so she could get heals off as needed between cleansing others.

Fight after, she struggled a little bit getting Esuna on herself, so I remarked if she wants, she can go ahead and swiftcast it off herself first if needed so she could at least heal and cleanse if needed.

No further issues with that until we got to Diabolos. It was evident after 2 tries we didn't have the DPS and Healing power to just ignore the door mechanic and burn him down, so I got a lesson (FINALLY) on how to do that boss properly. Our little Sprout healer turned out to be very good at memory games and handled the doors on our successful run.

I didn't mind that dungeon taking a little longer - it was nice to see a newbie so willing to learn.

I could have hugged the guy who told me, at the end of a low level dungeon run (not sure which one, I was leveling my WHM): "Btw, in case you didn't know, Esuna will clean poison". I was immensely grateful. If you havent played other games like this one before, the tooltip "removes one detrimental effect from target" doesnt makes much sense to you... until someone gives you a clear example. I am and will always be an avid how-to-play tip devourer!

Just as a tip, any and all debuffs you can Esuna have a little bar on the...I can't recall if it is top or bottom offhand...That shows how much longer the debuff is on. Any you cannot Esuna won't have it. It's actually really handy in new instances to know when you can just ignore the debuffs, unless you are like me and Esuna every time you see red in the buff bars.

Sort of a shame the other thread on "how to word advice nicely" has mostly concluded in "kick them immediately" and "don't bother trying". Posts like this prove that offering help can make a difference for some players. It'd be sad if rude players have ruined that for those who appreciate it.
