Last night I did LFR in World of Warcraft as a hunter.

My brother wanted me to join him in classic, so I have given it a resub for 1 month after being away fir a year, and I wanted to see what the live game was like, and figured a quickly “Alliance Dungeon” would be illuminating.

90 minute queue time.

Day before yesterday I pushed my monk to level 40. 5-10 or so minutes queue time.
I too thought DPS queue times were bad here.

WoW just slapped that nonsense right outta me. You could hear that slap a mile away...

My boyfriend and I have been trying to queue for Orbonne Monastery from time to time during the last few weeks, always prime time and even right after roulette reset with different role combinations. We always end waiting for more than an hour before giving up and do something else. During the weekends we let the queue going and we watch a long movie, still nothing.

Is also worth to remember that using the DF block your character for a lot of stuff.

I don't see your point comparing FFXIV to WoW, I don't care about WoW and their queue times. I care about FFXIV and for certain content has horrendous queue times and even if you go in the risk of people leaving and never finding replacements is huge.

I tried. Twice. Didn't go through both times.
Tbh they were a good healer and although I was doing small pulls as the GNB, I never felt like I was going to die... But I still was really pissed about it. My blacklist grew a few more names after that run.
I just want the exp and since I'm already on limited time, I couldn't afford to take the penalty.

Sorry, I didn't want to blame you. Still, the main cause of this kind of stuff is the community allowing it. I just did a leveling roulette with my healer and ended in "The Qitana Ravel" with a tank still using a LvL 355 weapon from eureka. We also had a SAM that will not use his AoE rotation even when was appropriated to do so. This person was a new player so I suggested this:



No response and he ignore my advice.

Both scenarios deserve a kick. Respecting others is not only about using nice words. Is also about doing the bare minimum to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.

I don't see your point comparing FFXIV to WoW, I don't care about WoW and their queue times. I care about FFXIV and for certain content has horrendous queue times and even if you go in the risk of people leaving and never finding replacements is huge.

It's just a comparison point. Some people who play both games, or played WoW and then came to FF, may find it useful. Or funny. Or neither. But they're allowed to make the comparison - you may not care but others might.

That's not really a like-for-like comparison.

People will be only running the current max level LFR at any time - as you don't do it in any kind of roulette and you pick the specific instance.
Assuming you are leveling? No one is going to be doing any low-level endgame in the LFG/LFR so you are unlikely to ever see a queue pop for it.

PF'd Eden2Savage. So I died from Punishing Ray second punishing ray, had not even 30k at the moment of receiving the attack, usually I say sorry if I die instead I said "well not enough heals rip". Healers started bitching at me. When they told me that they survive that attack with those hp and i had just failed the eye mechanics which wasnt true, I answered, "well maybe heals got delay happens also you have more magic defense than me so maybe if its magic based attack like in others FF games would make sense that you'd survive it with less hp than I need to^^". Then they proceeded to bitch at me for the rest of raid. We still managed to get the clear on the next pull and I rolled a solid 99 on the gloves coffer which are what I wanted for my MCH so neat! I guess. When I got the roll they legit "always the noob getting carried with deaths gets the drop". Not cool especially considering that they kept me like 1 min if not more dead, because "grudge" *Basically all quietus till boss death on the enrage 0,1* while my dps was just below 1.8k from top dps. Lost 3k dps on that dead and stupid grudge that could've made the raider smoother to clear. But ehy kids gotta be kids.

Editing since I remember what I was missing to say. On the next pull the SAM ate the same mechanics they accused me to fail (The eye) and lived through punishing ray. You can live through evil eye if nothing hits you while you're petrified. But yeah according from those healers I died only because of that mechanics that i did "fail" though I didn't and not because I was low af from unmitigated bleeding. While the samurai that failed the very same mechanics and lived through it. When I tried to bring it that case they even gone on the full insult route.

Whatever the case kids gotta be kids I guess. Sad. Had it recorded on Shadowplay when I tried to show them they blocked lol how bad someone can take a mistake.

It's simple. Queue times here are just NOT ACTUALLY BAD.

And showing the example of another game points out exactly how not bad it is here.

No actually I think it is a good comparison. This game opens that queue up to so many more options - which allows a much wider pool of people to be in your queue, and then is a lot smarter about matching them.

I queue as a DPS here, I am doing something fun for me withing a few minutes. Elsewhere, it could be more than an hour.

People who complain about queue times here, apparently literally do not understand how good of a situation they have in this game. And could do with having a bit more patience. I think the only MMO I have seen with queue times this good is ESO, and that's actually for the same reason: when you queue you're queue'd for a lot more than just a few things.

Alliance raid here is often seen as the 'LFR of FFXIV' even though in difficulty it's actually the 'heroic raid of FFXIV'...
- so as a DPS I can expect about a 10-23 minute queue for Alliance Raid. Against my 90-minute WoW LFR, and for 'heroic raid' which is where Alliance raid actually matches in BOTH difficulty and gear reward tier... I have to find a static or use WoW's version of a party finder and discover that it has dramatically fewer entries in it than you will see here, and most of them skip heroic and are only showing whatever is top at that moment.

- The two things here that require manual groups, I usually find it takes only a few minutes to get. Granted getting quality will take building a static and time - and in that space other MMOs are actually better because FFXIV's static community is very hardcore. But for PUGs it's super easy here.

Not really a story but I have no idea why I get comms thrown at me whenever I play black mage, most of my dungeons get me 1 or 2 compared to my other dps jobs where I only get 1 every few runs.

I guess people must really like explosions.

My EX roulette run today featured probably the worst NIN I've ever encountered. They only ever used their single-target combos and Huton (I think I may have seen Bunshin once); no other ninjutsu, no Death Blossom, no Hellfrog Medium, nothing. Mobs took forever to die, and we definitely would have had more wipes if our tank and healer weren't competent (I was on RDM). And to top it off, they proceeded to run into Tycoon's time beams over and over, to the point that our healer stopped rezzing them after they called them out on it, with the NIN complaining that they "couldn't see them". Ugh.
