I mean, it's had a what... 15 year history of being full of completely rude and aggressive players? One of my stand out memories is that video of the guy smashing his keyboard against his table and all that stuff... from long long ago. It is kind of like how if someone mentioned playing this game, probably the first assumption would be "weeb" Doesn't necessarily mean it's true, but it isn't wildly incorrect assumption.

That's not a fault of the game tho. It just came out at a time where broadband internet and online gaming became affordable for basically everyone and was so easy to set up it didn't require a minimum IQ to even get it to work anymore. That's when a whole new breed of gamers started flooding the communities.

It is somewhat hard to judge about these things really, there are good and evil people everywhere but here is the thing, it takes one evil person to affect all the good and peaceful ones negative. I may not have played WoW for long (just a couple months really) but the circumstances of good and bad people is somehwat the same in any other game that involves Multiplayer.

It is easy to see the negative but it is not easy to see the positive. Some people just want to see all the negative to justify their action torwads others, it is simply an awful mentality.

I never understood the phrase WoW Refugee because back in 2.0 weren't the first people to play this along side the FF11 and 1.0 group WoW players as well. PSO2, Runescape, Path of Exile (if that was out then?) and whatever else was around.

I get it. Sometimes RNG sucks. You don't get anything dropped. I didn't get a new PLD sword since Holminster Switch, going with a Level 71 sword and a level 73 shield but keeping everything else up to date without issue, I can relate. Genuinely, I can relate to having bad drops.


But when I look at you and I see an Augmented Shire Astronomer as your weapon but plenty of Scaevan and even Rakshasa gear. When I see you with Antiquated Failnaught, Bard. You know, the Stormblood AF bow. When I see a Dancer with level 69 chakrams and stuff from Doma Castle.

Poetics. Vendor gear. Even NQ vendor gear is better than a Shire Astronomer, than 69 Chakrams from Castrum Abania, than your entire gearset. For the love of Menphina's bodacious boobs you're wearing Ryumaku, you KNOW HOW POETICS WORK.




Please. Gear. Gear. Gear. I can understand bad RNG, honest. But everything was dying slowly. Sure, I didn't die, but I shouldn't have gotten anywhere close.



Oh then I did alliance roulette. Got obonne. Alliance B (Me) and Alliance C lost healers.


Alliance A's healers turned my last, lone healer into a Necromancer. Nearly wiped on Mustadio. Wiped and voted abandon on Agrias. I've seen cleaner runs first day. At least the Shire AST in Holminster was competent, unlike 85% of the people in that damn Orbonne run.

I must appologize to anyone who's had me on mostly brd lately. My net has been fairly laggy to the point where in a recent Dun Scaith about 5 minutes went by after someone yelled at the still living healer to LB for the love of god and my side of things hadn't caught up to that point yet. It can be anywhere from starts and stops that dont last long to well

Just got out of a PotD 41-50 run trying to level up an alt rdm (dps queues still suck ass). Got a LNC, mentor DNC, SAM, and me on RDM. Most people know those floors and beyond mobs hit like godforsaken trucks and tend to clusterf*ck in a room you actually need to get to. Keep this in mind.

Most everyone in the party has the defense of paper bags since no one had an aetherpool above 35 judging by the weapon glows. At the start, the sam in the party makes a comment in party chat about 'wishing there was a healer for this sort of stuff'. The second I ding 54 in there I help keep the party healed while they dps, and pop in some dps of my own.

The mentor dnc then basically tells me that vercure is a waste of a gcd and I should use it in-between pulls, even though they're still wandering off attacking mobs in OTHER ROOMS and pairing themselves with either the lnc or sam until floor 42. I reply with not wanting my party to eat dirt. The sam, however, was still grateful I was keeping the party alive.

I don't think I ever saw him cast Curing Waltz more than once the entire run after we all stuck together, and basically let the other dps fend for themselves. I kept on top of keeping the entire party alive, even when we got to floor 50 and the sam got hit with the gaze attack and somehow we got two sigils on the floor (I'm guessing the dnc stood in it for some brilliant reason) and seeing half of the party's entire hp pool suddenly get nuked in one shot; on top of dpsing.

Mind you, I've ran PotD enough to know more than likely there will be no tanks or healers for matched parties going through; and I know being able to support your party when 90% of the time it's gonna be all dps whose aetherpool stuff is gonna be very low is a nice emergency cookie. I know what I signed up for when I decided to bring my RDM through it. I lost count as to how many times I had to vercure the entire run. HOWEVER, if you're gonna wear that name-glam, at least prove to me you're actually going to help support the party with the job you're on when you know for a fact that the dungeon you're in DOES NOT GIVE TWO SH*TS about roles instead of being a d*ck about it.

To the mentor dnc, you do realize curing waltz comes at 52. If you're gonna tell the only other dps job that can heal to stop healing in PotD or even HoH in matched parties and just dps when everyone's squishy as wet paper, then either help heal and support your party, stay together, or just keep quiet and let someone who is able to pick up the lack of group healing support do their swap-job for those floors.

Not exactly Duty Finder but I thought I'd finally progress leveling trusts and ran Dohn Mheg a couple of times as BLM. On the second run I decided to see if I could get away with making some tea while the NPCs handle the mobs. First pull goes ok and I've got water boiling. I aoe on the 2nd and 3rd mobs. I decide I'll go and finish my tea during the 4th single pull. I have no idea how this twat AI managed it but when I returned 2 minutes later Urianger was dead, Thancred was dying and a wipe it was.
On the other hand I can't be mad at a wipe when I'm purposefully AFK but on the other hand... how is that even possible? How does that even happen? I'd expect them to not handle bosses if I just stood in AOEs but a single pack of trashmobs. What?

deleted my last post so i didn't double post but that wasn't even necessary rip
So. This happened like an hour ago.... I'm still shocked lol

I saw the stories. Read the posts, here and on reddit. I just didn't think they really truly existed... until now.

Okay I'm being dramatic it's not like there were all-caps rants but let me get to the backstory and then the drama - The Vault on my DNC, and a very a n g e r y WHM. To start off their heals were extremely weak, like almost nonexistent. Tank nearly dies every fight. Opened WHM's gear panel expecting the worst, and got not quite the worst but still pretty bad. Ironworks gear and a white level 50 cane in a level 58 dungeon. I'm pretty sure their gear was broken, too.

Whatever, let's just clear this dng and I can move on. Get to the last boss and we wipe after the healer dies because they're squishier than a Pudding. Then I chime in (mistake), and they get a little... defensive. (whm is green tank is blue)



I'll be honest I didn't have the best responses, and my inital comment wasn't exactly helpful?(and the memes, i'm sorry for the memes) but I was just annoyed after the wipe and then I was just. In shock lmao I've never personally had someone get so mad at a comment before! And they had the gall to say I was mad? Thankfully the nice WAR did what I was too stunned to do and vote dismissed them.

But yeah rambling aside I just don't understand these kinds of people. -accurately- Calling your heals pathetic is harassment?? Verbal assault? How do they function? ugh. Thankfully they're in the minority.
