But that healer didnt kick. They passive aggressively refused to heal and kicked at the last boss. Thats the issue here. Honestly if they had just kicked him when they noticed or left themselves no one would care. You all aren't seeing the big picture. It's all about establishing good habits. These same tanks making excuses for "oh it's just sastasha lulz" turn out to be the same tanks I have to babysit in Bardam's Mettle or Holminster or whatever SB/ShB dungeon that hits hard enough to where I need to utilize my entire tool kit. Yes, it may be a "smooth run" for you but that's because I'm busting my tail trying to keep you alive because you can't be arsed to simply update your gear like a normal tank is supposed to do. More and more I see why "Healers adjust" is such a thing in this game. If I were the healer, I would have kicked that tank we're talking about well prior to the final boss as that healer has A LOT more patience then I would of had.
"It's Sastasha!", and? No one should be going into any dungeon with the wrong gear. Stop making excuses for the guy. No one in this game exists to babysit you.
This is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but:
Dungeons are a team activity. Just because one of the party perhaps isn't contributing as much as they could, either through questionable playstyle or equipment, it is not an excuse for another member to stage an unnecessary protest about the whole thing, making an already bad situation worse for the other team members. I lose any sympathy I may have had for a healer if they decide the best way to react to a slightly undergeared tank is to stop healing them. It makes them just as unproductive as the tank to the rest of the team who are doing their jobs; all to make a point?
Whether as healer or DPS, if I use DF, I stay and try complete my role to the best of my ability for as many un/successful attempts as the team want to make, however smooth (or not) the attempts are. I signed up for it knowing the possible issues, so I'll stick with it.
I wouldn't say unpopular opinion because you are right, both parties are at fault here. But the way the post is worded puts the blame entirely on the healer and I sympathise more with the healer because I've dealt with tanks in crafting and INT gear and it's not fun. Low level gear doesn't cost much, so there is no excuse whatsoever to bring people down because you were lazy. I'm of the opinion that when signing up for DF, you should at least do the basic minimum. As I said, nobody in this game exists to babysit you.
Really the healer should've taken the L and left, I would've. Not worth the headache.
It's sastasha. Who cares? You can heal that dungeon blindfolded. So instead of actually going to the market board or a vendor to make sure your gear was up to date you basically said eff it and queued anyway? Being a tank means your gear needs to be optimal at all times so I really fail to see how you were doing your job. Next time, don't be lazy. Gil is so easy to come by and you have access to multiple market boards via world transfer so there is no excuse!
I disagree. Context is important. Theres a big difference between sastasha and bardams/ holminster. Everyone knows sastasha doesnt matter. You can easily get through that dungeon without a tank period. A handful of bad pieces isnt a death sentence like it would be in a level 40+ dungeon. Its babby's first dungeon. As long as you know to get better gear as you progress to higher dungeons, a mish mash gear run of sastasha is irrelevant.
I'm not getting onto either side here, but I do have one question - doesn't Lodestone gear some times take a while to update? How do we know what's on Lodestone is what they ran the dungeon in?

Not succumbing to groupthink since 1991. | Lalafell aren't kids or child-like, and I do not care what your opinion is on that point.
You don't.
The gear I posted a page ago was when he logged out after he reached lvl 23. He swapped weapon, shield, head, chest, hands, waist, and probably pants and feet also, 'cause those are dungeon items. And even now half of it is DoW gear, and thus not adequate tank gear.
Shield was probably this: Leather Targe (he or someone else mentioned INT)
Hands probably this one: Amateur's Smithing Gloves (he has a lvl 11 crafter)
I bet most of his gear was low NQ DoW, around level 10-15 at best.
You can run Sastasha naked, go ahead. Let's see how long the party allows to stay if you ain't premade. You dont need HQ tank gear for Sastasha lol. NQ disciple of war gear from what i recall is the bulk of what quests give you. I leveled my tanks before hall of the novice was a thing, that healer shouldnt have had any problems, especially since all tanks now have a passive +20% defense buff at all times. You can run sastasha basically naked. Not saying the tank shouldnt have been in better gear but to stop healing the tank entirely is a jerk move.
You can also run Haukke Manor with lvl 1 glamour, with the healer spaming cure/benefic/physick.
Should you do it, tho? Hell no.
And neither should a tank wear DoW gear, doesn't matter if NQ or HQ, but NQ just makes it worse. DoW gear on tank is a bad choice for dungeons, even with the passive tank mastery bonus.
And considering that said person mentioned to have swapped at least 2 gear items, yet still wears DoW items on half their slots, even on higher level than before... I am losing hope...
