Tanking and holding aggro without using a tank stance maybe?

Regardless, that's not something you should pull in a leveling dungeon. I can understand not using tank stance on a boss, but on trash packs that hit really hard when you are undergeared?

Plus his attitude was just terrible. Selfish and only cared about himself, even when the healer politely asked him to use tank stance. But he kept refusing until the healer ultimately just left, obviously not wanting to deal with the tank.

Yeah. If he wanted to practice he should hve waited until he was in a higher level dungeon, and then only really on Boss or dungeons he is way overgeared for.

I don't get people like that, they aren't the protagonist in some anime. They are a part of a team, and everyone is equal.

I did level 70 roulette today, I got Ala Mhigo. I had two DRGs, myself on PLD, and our healer was a WHM (I think?).

Healer was fantastic. Didn't DPS much, but they let me do pulls as big as I could get them and kept me alive. 9/10 healer.

On the last boss, however, they stood in a few AoEs and died before the sword phase. So it's me and the DRGs. I'm really fighting to keep these two and myself alive, one of the DRGs is in basically full i290 so every AoE is taking him down to half HP. Eventually I just have to let him die so I can at least keep myself and this other DRG alive. It took us a bit, but we did it!

I can't tell if it was fun or stressful, lol. I normally play DRK or WAR, but something in me said to play PLD that run. I'm glad I did.

So I’ve been leveling an alt on Twintania (btw, this Road to 60 buff is broken—between it and the bonus EXP from the earrings, she’s already almost level 50), and I just got to Brayflox in the MSQ (yes, doing the MSQ again, though rushing through it and skipping everything because I’ve done ARR more times than I care to count). We get an AST in level 20 gear with NO GLOVES on (!!!!) that is level 41 and hasn’t done any of their job quests outside of the unlock quest. So they didn’t have Diurnal Sect to give the tank a regen. We wiped to the first pull.

We tell them to do their job quests after they tell us they haven’t done them, and they insist that “AST is an entirely different game”. We say, “No, it still earns it’s skills from level 30 to 60 via job quests LIKE ALL THE OTHER JOBS (outside of SAM/RDM)”. They tell us “Well, I’m a WHM/SCH main, so stop criticizing me and stick to giving advice for your own jobs.”

I replied with “I’m an alt with full level 70s, and AST is my most played job. So I am giving advice for one of my own jobs”.

The dungeon took soooooo long... and we were all nearly dead during the last boss because lul what is Esuna (they did finally use it on the tank after they hit 4 stacks and were at 57 HP). We couldn’t kick them because they refused to roll on loot, and the MNK in the party took the Infantry gear that dropped despite not needing it.

Got two comms though. Wanted to comm the DRK but they instantly left. Can’t blame them really—they were clinging to life the entire dungeon. Probably just wanted the heck out of dodge tbh.

I feel you. I did the same on Twintania and I ended up falling in love with her, so now I’m rushing her through the story because why not. Orz

But the one thing that got me the most, was when the boss was at 15% and we had just gotten LB2. You'd figure the nin or I would get to use it, right? Nope.

The tank popped LB2 when the party was fully healed.

The tank. Popped. LB2. WHEN WE WERE PERFECTLY FINE.

We down the boss, I comm the nin, pass on loot, and nope out of there. I ended up getting 2 comms and I have no idea why.

To be fair tank lb is instant you press it accidentally its gone, wish have a mini cast added to prevent that >_>

This reminds me of a time in Darkhold when the tank used the LB2 when the boss was at 31%. Their excuse was "I've never seen it before, so I popped it to see it."
We ended up wiping. All I remember was seeing red. I have no idea how we wiped. I may have stopped playing altogether during that brief period of unconsciousness.
So we get back to the boss, keep fighting, boss gets down to 8%. I go to use the awesome Ninja LB and it's interuppted. I look at the party list to see if it was the Bard that cast it... nope.
The Tank had just used the LB... AGAIN.
The torrent of abuse that came from the healer was ban worthy.

Yea this tank can go bye bye they didn't even ask i generally would prefer dps to use it but in a dungeon i'm fine if hlr or tank wants to use it to see what it is like if they ask first else i'm going to feel it was completely wasted.

Oh i probably should add a story, was running shisui yesterday for full hlr set, during my 3rd run encountered a rdm with lv 59 wep and lv 30 accessories, had reasonable body pieces but had 5k less hp than me the healer. Never saw manashift despite getting low having to heal/dps more than usual but i managed, i did like the mnk and pld who used cds and seemed to try and make up for the rdm.

The kicker though, rdm wep and casting gear dropped they passed on everything. at that point i never wanted them to see them in df again >_>

Nidhogg trial shows up. I'm tank. PLD. dps stance.
The other tank, heavily undergeared, says "I'm new". DRK.
Me: "no worries, just watch out telegraphs". Switching to tank stance and start 15s countdown.
At 14s, the DRK aggroes Nidhogg. Seems he wanna MT anyway? Ok, switch to dps stance.
When countdown ends (the one I started before...) Nidhogg already killed half party. You know, how aggro works, DRK?
I got blamed for not tanking.

To the group I just got in Great Gubal Library (Hard): no, you actually have to do mechanics. But sure, tank, just fookin' stand there. Get literally EVERY vulnerability debuff there is to get in EVERY boss fight. Do NONE mechanics. Never turn anything away from the party. Sure.

I shouldn't have wasted my swiftcast+rez on you when you died to not getting behind a boulder during the meteor part of Strix. You can't face roll insta-wipe mechanics, you insensate pile of crusty rhubarb. And when I died because I was the only one to unimp myself and took shit in the face DESPERATELY trying to keep everyone up - you all just stood there. As imps.

We didn't wipe, and I didn't get a single comm. Good. Neither did ANY of you, and I wouldn't want your dirty comms anyway. I hope there's a check in place that stops you lot from ever progressing in the new expac, you don't deserve to.

But seriously you showed more restraint then I would have just seems like since yesterday nothing but groups I'd rather get throat punched by my ex again than deal with. Mechanics that have been around since arr are nothing new yet guess what I found myself dealing with all day long groups that couldn't follow mechanics old mechanics are still the exact same regardless of the level stand in the gold ringed circle dont run away from it move out of orange stuff on ground bloody heal the person you just rezzed instead of doing nothing.
