Just got out of a nightmarish snowcloak run. the pallys gear was so bad they'd pull a group and die before benefic 2 could finish casting. we wiped about 4 times and on the boss the two dps kept getting frozen. one of the boss attempts left the BLM without protect because he wouldn't get close enough to be to be in range.


also dear SAM, if you say "this group sucks" you are saying you also suck because you are apart of the group. you don't get the exempt yourself just because you feel like being a prick.

Caster LB on big pulls is amazing, why not at least do that?

Why use a caster LB on something useful when you can save it for a boss and then not let the melee use it?

In my quest to grind the irregular tomestones, today I ended up in a run of Syrcus tower. We had two ASTs healing. One of the ASTs refused to put on a stance, even though several members asked him to do so more than once. The stanceless AST remained silent for the entire run until the last boss. Finally they said "I know about stances I just don't care" and "I just want to get it done". He still was not using a stance on the last boss and ended up dying multiple times. Whenever someone tried to tell the stanceless AST something they replied with "I still don't care. You typing is a waste".

I gave the good AST my commendation and added the stanceless AST to my blacklist. I don't understand, why are people like that?

Ended up in Stone Vigil in roulette. Quite alright.

The tank was new. He pulled some mobs without having his stance on. Since he was new, I nicely reminded him to put his stance, with a smile and everything you know, nothing bad.

...and he left the next second. Just like that.

Perhaps he was really nervous and someone telling him something just made him leave, I don't know ? Oh well lol

Time for me to toss my hat into the ring.

Was running normal Amdapor Keep, tanking it because I wanted to work on my zodiac relic for PLD while I level for some reason only the gods themselves know. It's going well, group DPS is high, the healer is masterfully weaving DPS and healing, I like to think I'm setting a good pace pull-wise. We get to the second boss, and I decide that nothing whatsoever can go wrong by doing nothing outside of standing there doing my rotation while the boss is casting Repel. I then learn that my character cannot actually fly, and the distance to the bottom of the pit is longer than I expected.

Pulls were faster after that out of sheer embarrassment.

So, I've been running a few mentor roulettes again and yesterday one dropped me in the Temple of the Fist. The DRK outright claimed that they were new, I think the ninja said something along those lines aswell, but the SMN had their little mentor icon on, so I guess they got there the same way I did (and more importantly: werent new). I need to mention that both the ninja and the SMN had an ilvl of about 360, with both of them having weapons around 380.

We slug through the dungeon, with the DRK only doing single group pulls, which is fine. I understand not wanting to try big pulls in a dungeon you dont know when you barely have the ilvl for that. Since stuff is also dying kinda slowly I dont want to encourage that tank either...

Good choice, since the DPS turns out to be abyssmal: We get to the second boss, get to see two rounds of those moon/sun-seals with the glowing platforms and consequently get the lowest rating. Despite me, as scholar, dpsing aswell. I dont know how thats possible. I didnt even get to see such a low rating when the Temple was current content. I'm pretty sure we got a better ranking on our vers first run there! And here they are... ilvl360 and not being able to kill this boss in a timely fashion... all in all a very sad run...

Another run on my alt for tomestones and I get Amdapor. I was thinking, hey, giant pulls, this will be quick. I did a small pull for the first set because the black mage was hanging back and single attacking the mob that summons another one. Get to the first pack of hippogriffs and the whitemage is spamming the tar out of cure. I was thinking they were freaking out and I check their gear...and it's all HQ goodness. Continue through the dungeon with the black mage single targeting, white mage going nuts on cure, cure II and medica. I had to double back constantly because some mobs got on the black mage or the healer. Then the bard pulled another pack by themselves. I would have been more irritated by it but I just wanted to get things done and I wanted to pull more mobs at a time but the other two were making it difficult. The bard ended up triggering the lb, but canceled it, so I took that as a sign to get as many mobs as possible. I still had to pick mobs off the healer and the black mage, because they just make a bee line for them and miss the initial flash.

The last boss saw two adds spawn. I knew the bard was doing fine, and the black mage can single target...but no. Black mage had their weapon sheathed and was just standing there. Just standing for the entire fight. I was quick to give the bard the commendation because I knew he would be sprinting for the exit as was I. If I had the gil on this character I would just buy gear. But I don't and I can't continue with the story.

This run wasn't even particularly bad, but it was just annoying. This dungeon is so easy to do mass pulls in and the healer and black mage just didn't are.

So many people don't realize this and get pissed whenever someone uses an LB prepull to the boss.
