Fun fact: thanks to Ultimatum and Provoke both being accessible, you can now tank all the mobs. They aren't locked into attacking Estinien, he just has a LOT of aggro on them.
Provoke the lone liegetail. Ultimatum the group of Liegetails. Everything else can be tanked normally. Now the only thing damaging him is AoEs.
I had a SMN once that was spamming Ruin II an entire Doma Castle run, even when they used DWT... yup Ruin II. Didn't even touch Ruin III at all or much else for that matter, but they did try to cling on to a couple of Physicks...
Lol u almost got me there xD
Wait u can?I always thought those were always locked on estinien no matter how much enmity i generate.Fun fact: thanks to Ultimatum and Provoke both being accessible, you can now tank all the mobs. They aren't locked into attacking Estinien, he just has a LOT of aggro on them.

I'll do an Aery test run tomorrow to see if I can pull it off then cuz now im curious xD
Yikes that run must've been painfully slow then and the SMN has no excuse by this point in the game
Also......seeing SMN using physicks makes me die a little bit inside xD

Not a story, but just a self-criticism. I suck at healing, and I have two jobs left to level, and both are healers. My apologies to the Primal datacentre if you run into me healing; I'm very much a DPS/tank.
Actual story. I left my WHM at level 53. I decided to relearn how to heal again, in Sohm Al (keep in mind I had to relearn my keybinds). What was I thinking? Problem = not thinking. I feel bad for the tank (even though aggro was spotty), and my fiance for being there, I should have warmed up with something else. >_>
Oh trust me Sohm Al is not the ideal place to start learning how to healNot a story, but just a self-criticism. I suck at healing, and I have two jobs left to level, and both are healers. My apologies to the Primal datacentre if you run into me healing; I'm very much a DPS/tank.

I once did the same mistake after boosting my WHM to 60 and going to Sohm Al and let me tell ya.... I was really really bad at it
Personally I'd recommend you go back to earlier 4 man dungeons and relearn healing from there.I did the same thing but instead I went back with my level 30 Astrologian at the time,I now have my astrologian at around Lv65 and I feel a bit more comfortable with healing compared to how I was before.
Granted I still can never heal savage and SB Ex-primals but I'm at least at a dependable enough level for normal content
Not a df one, but i did right now have the most stressful experience in Eureka when beginning Pazuzu with 15 minutes left on my timer, to get him killed 15 seconds before i was kicked out of the instance. The whole fight really felt like a savage raid enrage dps check XD
It's less of a DF story but more of a Class/Job experience story that I told once before with Summoner....this time its for Monk
My first impressions of monk was ...horribly misguided to put it lightly and it gave me an unfair outlook on the job
My first time seeing monk on display was watching MrHappy on youtube,no offense to you MrHappy if ever happened to read this I love your videos and guides but the way u play and how u constantly rotate the camera legit scared me from trying monk initially(that and watching the camera constantly rotating all the time is kinda nausiating xD)
It doesn't help that so many people exaggerate monk's positionals and how "annoying" in quotes they can be.And I stupidly jumped on the banwagon and was trashing the job for little to no reason other than to fuel my hatred for positionals that started in Alphascape(savage).
Then one day,me and my FC friends decided to do a 1 to 50 floors run of Palace of the dead to unlock Heaven on High. For the lulz I decided to choose monk and decide to learn the rotations bit a bit there. And then it all clicked together at once for me,I started practicing my positionals, rotations and uptime management on a striking dummy...then I jumped to my roullettes and never stopped levelling my monk throughout the week until I got it to level 70 but it didn't stop there,I saved my genesis tomes and Ivalician coins specifically to augment MNK's scaevan gear and I went as far as to grind pages from o9s and o10s to get my monk at an adequate enough level for raiding.
Took it for a whirl in Orbonne monestary and o10s and ..........OH MY GOD I LOVE MONK SO MUCH NOW
The amount of damage I can output and how engaging and fun it is to maintain ur uptime and the amazing mobility it got compared to other melees turned it from what was initially my most hated job to my favorite melee job tied only with Dragoon
Funny side note related to this:My character's guardian(which iirc depends on your birth month but correct me if im wrong) deity back when I made my lalafell was Rhalgar the Destroyer.....it was kind of right there in front of me this whole time xD
Now,at ilvl 399,im a proud practitioner of the fist of Rhalgar ^_^

I've just had a horrifying WoD run. My healers barely healed and the other tanks didn't want to tank. Not a great combination. It was pretty much a disaster all the way through. Despite using cool downs I died constantly and the other tanks never bothered to grab aggro. We did manage to finish it but I've never clenched my butt cheeks so hard in my life. Runs like this make me never want to run tank again. Maybe I'm just not cut out for the job, I'm not exactly the best tank out there :/

I've been thinking more about people being undergeared, especially in later dungeons. I can kind of understand where they're coming from, because I've recently been reluctant to spend money on upgrades that I'll only be using for a few hours. Especially when there's a free set of upgradeable i290 purples just waiting for me to hit 70 and claim them as job quest rewards.
But I figured out something cool! I can keep myself from being a drag on the party by limiting my roulettes to MSQ and 50/60. Augmented Shire gear is great for all those dungeons! Even the stuff your trainer gives you at level 60 should be fine for all of them. And with DPS queues being what they are, I couldn't do much more than a couple of roulettes in one evening, anyway.
That's my advice for people who don't want to go out of their way to upgrade their gear in the 60s... stick to MSQ and 50/60 roulettes. You'll never be undergeared then.
This does mean getting less practice in dungeons with skills learned after 60, but nothing's perfect. And that's easily made up for when you're 70, anyway.
