Yesterday I saw a dark knight with unaugmented Ironworks gear in Bardam's Mettle. I died a little inside. But not nearly as much as he died outside.

I died a little inside just reading this.

Sorry for my next vulgar remark but that paladin was a legit huge piece of s***.If I were you I'd vote kick him(of course after a decent lashing) just for what he did for the poor warrior sprout.

This elitism,this sense of entitlement that I've seen so many times in this game never fails to frustrates me.Like....wtf did he expect queuing for an EX primal on THE DUTY FINDER?Of course you'll find new people.My first run of Titan EX a while back was through a duty finder and I was teaching all the sprouts there the fight since I watched a guide before coming here.Heck on a mentor roullette last week I had to teach almost a whole team of 7 the Ultima Weapon EX fight and they were receptive,willing to learn and they eventually cleared the fight.The game isn't just made for the likes of that paladin who loves to force people into "their way" of playing so they either be a decent human being or kindly leave the instance if they have the patience of a small melting ice cube and let the sprouts get a better replacement.

If I was healing that instance I would've rescued that Paladin into the aoe of doom just out of spite to teach him a lesson.

I was not very nice to him. I even called him out for trying to kick the WAR, but enough votes passed to dismiss him (and then half the party left so I’m sure they kicked him just to get out of the penalty for leaving). When he showed up in my second instance of it, I noticed he didn’t try to start anything, so maybe he didn’t appreciate me railing into him in front of a bunch people last time and knew I’d do it again.

I don’t think it’s the greatest idea to do ARR or HW EX primals synced these days, but I can see why some people wouldn’t know to go to PF. It’s not like the game tells you the content isn’t like the “hard modes”. But you have someone trying to learn and you just deny him the opportunity to do so? I felt so bad for that WAR... It’s just uncalled for to treat someone that way. Because I think he knew how to tank. He just didn’t tanks when he was supposed to swap. And that’s no fault of his — I was trying to explain it, but the PLD was too busy facepulling to allow for it.

Second mentor queue was the shortest one I've had ever....in-progress queue of Brayflox Longstop(hard).Apparently the group had a bot-tank before I got in?is that even possible?Especially since they were at the boss.Things went smoothly and the boss died without a wipe(something I rarely see on this boss xD)

I wish my mentor roullettes were all as quick as this one LOL

While I have not had the kind of luck my friend has for getting tank bots, it is possible and EXTREMELY annoying to have to deal with one. The signs you have one are also very telltale from what my friend said (they try to use combos that at level sync do not exist, jerky movements, etc.)

Consider yourself lucky if you haven't encountered any yet.

Had an Arboretum Hard run the other day with an FC mate, I was NIN and FC mate was RDM. Tank was a rando WAR. Cleared the trash up to the first boss with some issues with threat, but didn't think much of it.

Boss is pulled and I proceed with the usual NIN routine, Shade Walk, trick attack opening, and Dispersion (or whatever it's called) after Shade Walk fell off. We get the boss to about 50-ish % aaaaand I'm dead... wtf.. I'm rezzed by my FC mate (RDM) aaaaand she's dead.. wtf is going on?

FC mate and myself decide to remain quiet and observe through the next trash pulls. At no point does this WAR go into Defiance while I'm pulling threat with just Doton and Death Blossom. Still choose to remain quiet.

Second boss is nearly an exact repeat of the first. FC mate and myself suggest switching into Defiance on the initial pull to help with Enmity generation and we're promptly informed we should be using our threat mitigation abilities....

Rest of the Dungeon is cleared with nothing but Doton spam from me. Tank said I should be doing more, I told him he should try AoE-ing more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Never left a dungeon without checking loot first, could not get out soon enough.

Well whatever they supposedly did to fix phase transitions in ARR trials did absolutely nothing. Leviathan Hard, boss was at about 41% when the spumes went down (they went down fairly quickly once they showed up, well within time), and Leviathan proceeded to just say "screw it" and wipe us by using its ultimate immediately without even bringing up the message about the converter, or even turning it on. We wiped the 2nd time because he went under like he was going to do the charge attacks, then decided to pop the ultimate instead just as I was activating the converter. At least the message showed up that time. Looks like they ought to just rewrite those fights from scratch because they're still flat out broken if DPS is good.

Well the immaturity levels of this Lighthouse run on Aether I did just now was through the roof. Tanks not doing their job (save for mine), Alliance A not understanding what a mechanic is despite my alt being the only "new" character, Alliance A also doesn't know how to heal very well, Yiamat not being tanked in the center, Alliance A being dead for add phase on yiazmat causing us to wipe half a second before the heart was destroyed, oh and on the second attempt I had to suicide to save my own party because some idiot from alliance C stacked with us.

And the final straw? My 390+ cohealer rolled need on the gloves when I was still in 330 gloves. It's okay I mean I clearly didnt need the ilvl.

OH I almost forgot: Someone directed 2 time bombs on belias inward and wiped basically 2/3 of the whole raid.

Doing some trial (generally Royal Menagerie and Castrum Fluminis) for win some Second Chance to Wondrous Tails. Last run was Shinryu and a tank started saying: "a cornocopia of pain and despair is geading our way and we all going to die"
I said: I ress you all o.o

1 minute after, 5 dead for Tidal Wave. Only me, the other healer and a tank were alive. We start to resuscitates them. Yet was not wipe.
Boss casting Diamond Dust... I said "Dust, not move", but several deads again. I used LB3.
More some minutes and other Diamond Dust... more deaths. My MP was very low and wipe.

But success in second attempt

Generally I use Succor in people with less than 30k HP ( to avoid death when hit by tail or Ground Pound), but is hard keep all alive when have several first times.

Just "finished" a mentor roulette. Got Rabanasty(apparently lived up to the name this time), 14min in prog(must have been VERY close to 15min). Queue in and most alliances are empty....with a vote abandon started a few seconds after I joined...it ended with that abandon.

...And as I was typing the above, I was queuing for another Mentor Rou...got Nidhogg EX...as I joined, there was nobody in it...as I was still typing here...the abandon succeeded.

Let's see what the third try is(currently saw it pop once and then went back into queue for it to pop again...waiting on it now....)

Glad he got kicked in the end regardless,and I absolutely salute you for putting him in his place.

So I waited until the Tank got back in and I wrote "All three of you need to take some time and read up on how to play your class. This is kind of playing is inexcusable for people who are almost max level." And I left. I'm not proud of it. I wanted to help. But it was too much. One person? Sure, I'll take the time to teach, but I was alone with three people who didn't seem to think it was a problem to wipe 3 times in a row to a single pull of trash mobs.

I think that was the right thing to do overall although if anything, dropping at least a couple of lines for what is wrong before leaving would have been good. That way they have some keywords to focus on instead of just "everything you do is wrong".
(tank: defensive cooldowns, AOE aggro; healer: single target heals, regen; DPS: AOE rotation)

To be fair, there are not that many aoes that linger damage like that. They might just have expected it to be safe after the boss went past. I did the same on my first run... xD

I ran into it on my last Ghimlyt while tanking. I always thought it was just an after image and just run into it getting ready to tank it in middle again. Turns out it burns you.

Labyrinth of the Ancients with a lot of new people and a lot of wipes due to people not understanding mechanics. That was a bit annoying but hey, people were new and didn't understand things. That's to be expected - but they generally improved when people had the chance to actually explain mechanics. Sadly that wasn't enough for one of the tanks, who spent the entire raid after the first wipe disparaging people in chat and telling them to 'go back to 'insert game here' and that other alliances were 'the short bus' of the raid. It honestly made me embarrassed to even be there and I can't imagine how the newbies felt if this was their first experience into 24 man raiding... Yes, there were issues with people not understanding mechanics and making things generally harder while they tried to grasp them. However the attacks were unwarranted as was the sheer glee with which they seemed to be thrown out.

If you are frustrated with people not playing up to your standards please for the love of all that is holy don't channel your inner five year old and start lobbing insults. Especially when it becomes clear that it isn't malice causing the issues but genuine lack of understanding due to being new to the instance.
