This happened some days back and I kinda ranted on another thread but will share my story here for its relevance.

Got into Fractal as WHM. Things went pretty normal, then noticed that the WAR tank occasionally loses aggro to heals and/or dps. Normally it'd be a no biggie since it didnt cause us any wipes. Just kill and move on kind of thing. But he also fails to observe incoming patrolling mobs and provoke them. What happens to the patrols? They come to me/dps.

However, I start to notice that when a mob is on me/dps, tank does NOTHING to pull it back until like probably 20 seconds later. Repeat this for almost every mob pull.

We reach the Minotaurus boss. He did not, i repeat , did NOT avoid ANY of his attacks. Normally if everyone in the party does what they should do, I'd be helping to DPS almost the entirety of the boss fight but it's the other way round. I have to be on standby to heal him through every single boss attack (even the basic frontal attack).

Here's where it starts to get "fun". I realize his ilvl's around 170, so I figure maybe he's new. Asked in party chat if he knows what to do........no response. at. all. And yes, he does speak English (we knew that at the end). I even did the auto-translate phrases Can You Speak English/German/French/Japanese. Did all of them in succession, got a laugh from the DPS =p

Right before the last boss, he replies "I can speak final boss who cares" , and that's an exact word for word quote. Being a healer I responded in kind. I let him die when boss was at 20% and kept DPS alive for them to LB the boss and finish the dungeon. Left while leaving him to rot on the floor. I do not mind inexperienced tanks but I definitely mind douchebags.

Got 2 comms from the DPS after this =P. Do not piss off your healer xD

Seems like a lot of these people are doing it for the sake of getting the jollies out of kicking people who do not agree with their thinking, or hoping to see rage.

Nope. It's the 'mean people suck' coalition throwing their weight around. Remember: Disagreement is harassment, and feeling annoyed that you have to do most of the work is a hate crime.

Went to kill Sephirot about an hour after the start of 3.2, so I guess everyone in the party was new to the fight. The first two times we wiped due to "we don't have a clue what we're doing here lol", during the third try the MT decided to tank Seph with its face to the party, causing a wipe in less than a minute after the start of the fight. Getting wiped in a brandnew fight via cleaves, I felt like "srsly!?"

Starting off 3.2 strong. Farming A6 for a lens, run into a group of most new people (of course, first day of content). Two of them, a WHM and DRG, were the most annoying toxic people. The DRG acting like he knew all the fights told the other tank (I was MT for most fights) to do things that would've gotten him and the rest of the group killed. After I told him he was wrong, him and the WHM just started spamming "Hall of the Novice pls" over and over, sometimes filling the entire chat log. Enough that I'm pretty sure they had a macro for it.

Good to know people being asses hasn't changed.

Edit: Got a good follow up story. Some DRK in Burden of the Son (A8) kept yelling at me to tank swap when he had the magic down debuff... I never once tank swapped in that entire duty my first time through. After he screwed up and got vulnerability and died to a TB he started calling me "retard" and "l2taunt." Which is also funny because I did taunt, but he just kept hitting it in Grit, so I figured he wanted it. And then he tried to hold the group hostage until they kicked me. Fun fact, it failed and before anyone could kick him (people wanted to) he pulls again.

Just did A5, tank started explaining it before asking if we wanted to know. I let him know that'd like to go in blind and responds with: if you want blind go savage.
Sometimes, I just wished some people were a bit more nice.

Pretty amazing how many people are freaking out in midas when it hasn't even been released more than a day. Going into casual content blind and figuring things out yourself is too much to ask for these days.

Apologies if this gets a bit long winded, first time sharing a story from the DF.

So I enter Cutters Cry NM for the first time. Me (WAR), FC mate DRG (also new), a MNK and an AST. Say "Hello" to everyone and inform them it's my first time in this dungeon and to please let me know if there's any tips or tricks I should know as a tank (I should mention that I watched the Mizztec guide so I have an idea of what to expect). The MNK says not to worry, they've done Cutters a hundred times. AST says they'll do their best to keep everyone alive; buffs up and we're off!

I do normal pulls of 3-4 mobs, open with a couple OPs and start into my enmity rotation, notice that I'm having a helluva time keeping threat, look at my buffs...oops. Pop on Defiance and apologize to everyone. Keep going, everything is smooth, mobs are dying quick...although both DPS decide to attack different targets half the time, but I'm used to tabbing through my enmity combo, so no worries.

We get to the first boss, Princess Ant-thing. The MNK says they'll kite the adds while we burn the boss and does just that, smooth as silk. We congratulate each other on a job well done and move on down the line. We're going at a decent pace, maybe a little slow since I'm just doing the basic pulls and trying to learn the place, but no problems.

Worm boss, MNK says just stay out of the attacks and we'll be fine. Everyone runs in and starts their thing. Worm burrows and 1 shots the MNK. I pop a couple cooldowns to allow the AST time to res the MNK, we laugh it off and keep going. Down the boss without any other issues. We're trucking along and get to the final boss (I get a couple tanking upgrades along the way, new helmet and necklace, yay).

We all stop at the entrance and lay out the plan: Purple = In, Blue = Out, Ball = Run. This is where my ego gets the better of me, I think, "Hohoho, Roz, this has been a cakewalk so far, we are going to cream this Chimera!"

...We charge in, first eyes are purple, everyone stacks in, no sweat! Second, blue, everyone gets out in time, no damage. Third time, blue again, somehow I eat the damage as does the MNK. No worries, keep going. I'm dodging the breaths, trying to keep the boss as still as possible for the DPS. Ball, DRG runs, everything is A-OK! I'm not certain what happened from there, but the next blue both DPS eat it and die. I pop damn near everything I have to allow the AST to rez both DPS back into the fight. They both get up and we're looking OK, maybe a little ragged and silly.
From here on, I could not for the life of me (or the poor AST) get out of the blue in time. I don't know what was wrong with me but I raised my bowl out to the Chimera and pleaded for more. Apparently, the MNK and my DRG friend took my cue.

In my short time playing this game, I've never seen a healer work so hard to keep 3 idiots alive for the last 50% of a boss.

After we finally killed the damned thing, calls of "Super heals" and "Damn you are a beast, AST!" and myself apologizing profusely for making their life a living hell; the AST says, "Thanks. This is my first time healing as an AST, I usually play SMN."
Needless to say, there went someone who earned their 3 coms.

Thanks, I didn't know that, now I feel silly. I thought it was something you unlocked after getting a certain number of those medal things under your name. xD
