I had someone do that a few weeks ago - we were all locked there for a minute or two, and ended up finishing a few seconds after reset time.
Ironically the slow-to-load person was named something like "Slow Poke"...

I queued into Mentor Roulette on white mage and got a PIP in the Vault. They were on the last boss. Tank asks me if I can heal and dodge, and I'm like Yes. So we start the fight and I figure out why the previous healer left; the tank's HP is dropping like mad. I heal like crazy, popping lucid and assize on cooldown since healing the tank is draining my MP. We got through it (thankfully the dps were competent and I didn't have to heal them much) but I had to check the tank's gear out of curiosity when it was over, and he was in full Ironworks gear. Not even the augmented version, which is at least i130, but the regular i120 version. >_<
Yeah I love it when people get low-level duties and try to run it like its unsynced and/or don't take it seriously then get butt-hurt when they get flattened by it. People who have never healed don't realize theres a set CD between casts (just like their CD between skills *Le Gasp*) that we pretty much can't do anything about. Meaning if you can't survive the two seconds in between then you ded. So sorry.
I kind of wish I'd have gotten them. Because while I like smooth runs I also like those teachable moments because I don't care enough about healing to take offense: especially when its the other person's fault. Then its just amusing.
On a related but slightly different note: did WoD as healer last night to farm for glams and got a message from the other healer in the party saying that whatever I did to not let the SAM die. My immediate reaction was to warn the SAM not to do stupid shit, but instead I just promised to 'do my best'. Thankfully the party knew the mechanics well enough, including the SAM so that healing everyone was fairly easy (DRG and WHM both went down but it was fine). At the final boss, the WHM reiterated that SAM was heal priority--even over the tank. I assumed they were on tank duty and I just said, again, that I'd do my best. We finished the boss without wiping, even though we flubbed one of the meteor drops. SAM didn't die and got what was presumably a clean parse? Not sure what that was all about.
Easiest roulette I've ever been in was when I joined a PiP right as the group killed the last boss. We're talking more time to actually load in, and I got all the bonuses. It was 50/60 roulette too, which imo is the worst 4-man to do when it comes to skill levels being all over the place. That was during the days before auto teleport was a thing. Not sure if that can happen now, but I took it with a smile and an lol. ^^I thought I was in for round two of my Halatali experience earlier... leveling roulette, 15 minutes in progress, and yes it's Halatali again.
But the party is midway through the final boss, the barrier is up and it doesn't offer to warp me in.
So /huh, sit back and watch the party finish the dungeon.
Easiest roulette ever.
Was playing one of my alts leveling SCH, and got stone vigil. Got a tank with all dps gear and did not use CDs. Was having to spam heal every pull. The times where he would pull more than 1 pack he would be instantly deleted. Run took about 45 mins. The cherry on top tho is that well leaving the tank chimed in with "thanks everyone aside from the terrible healer".
I don't get these people who just dump on healers. You literally can't complete the duty without them. These seem like people who are rude to the waiter then act surprised when there's a pubic hair on their steak. Was playing one of my alts leveling SCH, and got stone vigil. Leveling roulette sees a fully geared tank with an outstanding record, gives her Sastasha. Leveling roulette sees a DPS with no gear who leveled exclusively through PotD+HoH, pops out a Doma Castle. Leveling roulette has a twisted sense of humor.
Its much easier to dump on someone else then to acknowledge that you yourself might be the problem. And pube on the steak is stupid, waiter could get fired for that(besides, the guy rude enough to make someone want to do that in the first place is also the guy who will complain to management to get his meal comped). While being a better person then the jerk is the right way to live, if revenge must be had then putting something nasty under the steak is the better move.
I've had that run before too, after the tank left DPS said I did a great job healing. Ironically I was fully leveled on WHM and as you said 2 to 3 hits and tank would be at 10% HP. Not even aldo could keep that tank above 50%, but of course it is the healer's fault that they grab aggro too with a single heal. In a 70 roulette I even had a tank tell me as whm to pop diverision! Was playing one of my alts leveling SCH, and got stone vigil. Got a tank with all dps gear and did not use CDs. On a positive note I had 3 good dungeon runs as AST where I got 3 comms in all of them, one on The Aery,Sastatsha(Hard) and Gubal Library(Normal)
The last one had us wipe but I got all 3 comms regardless.
I don't think I'm a great healer yet and I doubt I'm ready to heal ex and savage stuff but I think I'm improving bit by bit
