Don't strawman. You don't need food, pots, or melds in Orbonne. You do, however, need decent gear that actually has substats on it AND with a decent item level. It's the same for any other content outside of Savage/Ultimate.This would mean players without melds, without food/pots, with subpar weapons like 355 or such, with low ilv pieces that could be replaced with crafted, or crit favoured classes without a crit weapon have no place in Orbonne, regardless of how well they play, due to neglect that costs a few percent performance and could be remedied by spending gil on the mb.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I can't see it as a big issue tbh.

While I do not agree with the point they are making. Nor do I know the numerical value compared to not having sub stats on a eureka weapon and if it is comparable to not having melds or food. Though I do not think they were trying to strawman just trying to say in their eyes lack of sub stats on their eureka weapon is akin to someone not having melds or using food since they believe they have overall an equal value.
Which I do not agree with but I also do not have the numbers to say otherwise if missing sub stats on eureka weapon is equal to not having melds or food.
World..... Almost the entire Alliance.... First boss... two wipes... on first mortal gaze fight was explained after first wipe nobody listened my Ninja was literally the only one up each time noped out quick.
...considering that I've seen healers, tanks and DPS in Orobonne with their Anemos-relic, so a weapon with an ilvl of 355, I'd be happy at this point if they had at least a 385 weapon, even if that one has no substats...
There is worse in Orobonne. Much, much worse. I vaguely recall getting a co-healer (or was it another bard? or both?) with ilvl340 weapons. Fun.
From the outside looking in; it doesn't appear that Hyomin's issue is with the weapon's ilv per se. The healers, tanks, and DPS you refer to with the i340 weapons aren't any worse from a mental standpoint because the neglect for upgrades is present in all of these players. They don't belong in Orbonne even though they meet the requirements because they just want to be carried though it. I would even wager that this SCH was carried through most of Eureka just to get that weapon, which is made evident from the lack of substats....considering that I've seen healers, tanks and DPS in Orobonne with their Anemos-relic, so a weapon with an ilvl of 355, I'd be happy at this point if they had at least a 385 weapon, even if that one has no substats...

I mean, I don't necessarily say you're wrong about that, but that's still shifting the blame away from SE for even allowing sub-stats-less weapons in content in the first place.
well they gave us a nice n easy way to get a glamour weapon aaaand ofc ppl abuse it - thats why we cant have nice things Q_Q
My issue isn't with the item level. It's with the SCH going into content with a bad weapon, knowing it was bad (because they told me they were aware it was a poor weapon and needed replacing/upgrading), but choosing to do the content anyways. It was a conscious decision to enter the content with a bad weapon....considering that I've seen healers, tanks and DPS in Orobonne with their Anemos-relic, so a weapon with an ilvl of 355, I'd be happy at this point if they had at least a 385 weapon, even if that one has no substats...

And trust me. I've seen the bad runs. I've been running it recently to get the tank and dragoon gear for glamour, so I have seen plenty. Still doesn't excuse the situation though. I compensated because I was nice and because they seemed nice, but I really shouldn't have to.

I had an absolute doozy of a run the other night. Doing leveling roulette on my WHM (my main since launch) and got Aurum Vale with a first timer tank. I love AV. I love how I can keep everyone one alive, even when almost the entire first room gets pulled at once. I couldn’t do this at first of course, but 5.5 years as a healer main have taught me to never panic, and remain calm. Well the latter scenario happened, of course, due to the new tank and no one informing him of the wandering mobs (I always hope for that to happen so I can flex my pride). Healed through it no problem.
I explained the strategy for the first boss, and we beat it fairly easily. The Coin Counter was a different story. I told the tank to get behind the boss for the swipe, and to get far away from the swing. After not dodging the first swipe, the tank proceeded to run far away from every swipe and swing. This caused casting issues for our two dps mages, but we eventually beat it. After that, the tank got hit by EVERY SINGLE BAD BREATH attack. From both the trash morbols, and the last boss. I esuna’d the first debuffs off of him, but let the rest do their thing. Before the last boss I even told him how important it was to dodge aoe’s, but he still got hit by every single one.
The tank didn’t use a single cooldown for the entire run, yet he never died, nor did anyone else during the massive accidental pulls in both the first and last rooms. The masochist in me was very happy. But I didn’t get a single commendation. I was respectful through the whole thing, and healed my ass off. We would’ve had multiple wipes with many other healers, including me long ago. But it really chapped my ass that not a single party member recognized what I did for that party!
Not quite. The recommendation system looks at your primary stat first of all, so for a tank it would recommend the piece of gear with the most VIT - which can indeed often lead to bad recommendations at lower levels.People just don't realise that the "gear recommendation" isn't guaranteed to be correct for tanks in ARR content when they can also equip other DoW or DoM gear, because it looks at gear level first and defence second. You need to actually manage your gear and double-check the stats on any recommended upgrades.
