...The heck are these Warriors doing? The only thing that's ever taken aggro off me mid-pull in SB expert roulette is a Black Mage going *single target* ham on something while I'm still pulling more (unless I miss an Overpower on something, but that's usually quickly fixed).
And Warriors whining about losing Vengeance DPS because of the Holy spam need to get their heads out of their asses. It's 55 potency a hit per enemy, Holy does a variety of 200 to 100 potency. That seems hardly even comparable. Personal DPS is irrelevant, what matters is group damage.

(EDIT: Ran a little extra test, and even the Delliverance Vengeance hits from an i393 WAR with an i390 weapon do less than half of what the lowest damage Holy hits [the ones that happen to sixth enemy and onward] from an i374 with an i360 weapon WHM do.)

The only Tank that is really affected by holy spam is DRK. Enemies can't break TBN if they're stunned...

To a lesser extent PLD can be affected if they're specifically using Bulwark to fill the Oath gauge. Again, they can't block hits that aren't coming because the enemies are all stunned.


An alternate explanation is if there is a specific move they want to stun in a pack of mobs. Like if there is one big mob that does a massive AoE at some point. But eh... I've never personally had an issue with it apart from the TBN thing on DRK. But then it's just like... oh okay this WHM likes to Holy, I'll SAVE TBN for after the mobs build resistance then.

Yesterday I had the most frustrating runs of O11N.

I queue in as Red Mage,everyone isn't new to the duty so I thought it'd be smooth and quick....NOOOOOOOOPE


Literally more than half the raid kept dying to Starboard/Larboard,some even walked on the insta-death tiles in Level Checker in addition to,and I swear I'm not making this up,nobody used the omega jammer duty action to generate the shield besides me and the PLD and we barely....BARELY managed to get it up before Omega's delta attack evaporate the entire party.Same shtick continues after level checker and I was verraising like a mad-man,doesn't help that the BRD I keep raising rarely used refresh even after the end of it's cooldown so as u could imagine im dangerously low on mana for most of the fight.I could've saved so much mana if the healers didn't keep dying over and over and over again as im busy rezzing them and most of the raid so we wouldn't wipe.

After a long very slow battle as our DPS was so low from all the deaths and weaknesses,we pulled through,but the worst part about all of this is not only did I not get a single comm for it,I couldn't get any loot with any of my rolls cuz the game decided I wouldn't roll any higher than 49 as the floor healers got their loot while I got nothing.

Sigh.Y'know what?I'm gonna learn how to do macros if only just for situations like this where I'd prepare a special snarky Verraise macro just for parties like this.

Either that or just say screw it and let the wipe happen

So today I am pretty certain that I was booted from a party so their machinist friend wouldn't have any competition in his rolls for the Balthier shirt. Here is why I believe this. It started with me and another bard. By the end of the first boss I do not think that enough time had passed or perhaps not everyone rolled, but after the second boss the first bard was kicked. I believe what saved me is that the third boss was pulled bc I dont think you can votekick during battle. Tell me if i am wrong here. Another bard joins us. After fight and loot is rolled on they are also vote kicked and then I am. Five ppl were from sargantarnas. Did mechs. Dps wasnt bad. What do you think?

...Like a sensible person. The stun resistance kicks in after, what, 3 casts? Hard to see why someone couldn't wait that long. :P

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you too. And now I wonder how many bards/machinist have been kicked just so someone can have a chance at a stupid glamour shirt. Chaps my ass because I still haven't gotten the dragoon chest piece in Void Ark, but I would NEVER think about taking a group of my friends and kicking every dragoon that entered the party. I've played this game since ARR and I've encountered a lot of sleezy stuff but this is going straight to my top five worse experiences.

Queued for O9S on Wednesday (was affected by Lunar New Year), and was surprised that it took me 3 parties just to get my weekly... One party has 2 healers who always dies during the crystal phase or the Earthquake phase, so we have to vote abandon it. When one of the attempts failed bcos of a failed dps check on the crystal due to a dps and a healer with weakness, I suggested to the one melee dps to use LB on the crystal if any one of us has weakness in that phase, only to have one of the tank retort and insist we shouldn't use LB there since everyone is "geared". Despite me arguing that we only use it in the situation where "1 or more dps has weakness", he stubbornly insisted no LB. I was like "didn't we just failed that phase due to insufficient dps????". Needless to say the vote abandon went through after 1 more attempt later -_-.

FFS just because everyone is wearing multiple pieces of i390/400 doesn't mean the party is definitely going to pass those dps checks especially for a DF group; sometimes adjustments are required.

I do wish more healers would actually /heal/ in content instead of taking the time to DPS because they assume their co-healer can do all the heavy lifting. Especially when the party is dying left right and center due to standing in the bad and their co-healer is almost out of mana trying to keep people alive but they just keep spamming attack with almost full mana the entire fight. I keep getting into trials like this and it's starting to grate. Like if things are going smoothly I get it, by all means DPS. Hell /I'm/ happiest as a SCH when I don't have to heal at all and can let Eos do the work. I GET IT regardless of class. I can handle the bulk of the healing when people aren't running around like headless chickens and actually doing mechanics. Hells, I can handle it even if one or two people are doing that. But please actually help when it's the BULK of the party? This isn't just any one incident but many, many over the past couple weeks that are making my want to slam my face into my desk.

On the flip side I had the cutest run of Baelsar's Wall with a newbie healer today that made me smile. It was definitely a palette cleanser to see someone be new and take it all in stride.

Took my daughter through some low levelling roulette dungeons this evening, so she can level archer. She's been a BLM before, I've done healing and her dad's been the tank. Her dad's off on a business trip so she decided it was time to do something a bit different (although she's only played a week). Suffice it to say, she now really respects her dad's awesome tankiness (and her mum's mostly acceptable healing).

Obviously it's dumb for anyone to complain about holy spam, but to be fair, considering how few white mages actually use holy spam I tend to just assume whatever WHM i'm partied with in duty finder is just not going to use it at all. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised sometimes but generally I just go off the assumption that holy is never coming.
