Since moving to the JP datacentre I haven't been able to get Orbonne to pop at all, regardless of whether I'm queueing with tank or DPS. I've pretty much given up on clearing this content as a result.Duty finder has been killing me with the wait times for orbonne monastery (as a tank) since release. Queueing as a DPS gets you in right away but if you're trying to get tank gear then good luck. You'll be sitting around for 30+ minutes and only then get offered a party in progress, not even a fresh party.
Did an expert roulette yesterday, and after the second boss from Ghimlyt, the tank says "Lunch timebye" and leaves.
So... ok.
Anyway, I learnt you can do the last corridor to the last boss without a tank.
Just had the most mediocre scholar in a group. No one died but spent a lot of time low on health. His DPS was also very low and he rolled need on EVERY healing piece that dropped and didn't need any of them. It was just a combination of factors that kinda annoyed me.
Yesterday on Stone Vigil I had a..........weird run to put it nicely
The Tank was new so I didn't mind them doing small pulls.
But the WHM healer wasn't new to the place and they just stood there.....doing nothing and won't DPS with me and the DRG and only act if they see the tank's HP dip below half.
I politely ask them to DPS every once in a while and they snarkingly reply with "And you shouldn't get hit by AOEs.....I can't DPS and heal at the same time"
For the record, the only aoe I got hit by during that entire run was on the first boss since I was RDM and i moved a second late after my cast finished and that was entirely my fault I admit, but u can't take this one instance and apply it for the entire run especially when you weren't DPSing before or after that instance.
I'm not a healer main myself so I won't claim that I know the ins and outs of WHM,AST or SCH,but at the same time DPSing mobs do help ease the tank's burden cuz thats one enemy you're helping us DPS faster which means less HP to be mowed out of the tank which also means u can save your mana AND Benediction CDs for more crucial parts of a run than an easy mobs pull.

3-manning Thordan Ex with my friends so my alt could get a birb. Gotta say, it’s kind of fun, even though her level 60 AST butt is getting hardcore carried. X3. Brings back memories of farming him in HW.

If you're referring to the level 41 dungeon, the healer doesn't have Benediction as it is a level 50 ability (Stone Vigil is synced up to level 43).Yesterday on Stone Vigil I had a..........weird run to put it nicely

That being said, I agree with the gist of your post. I've seen too many healers who don't dps when it's safe to do so. Because I'm grouped with so many terrible and/or mediocre healers lately, I've been running roulettes as healer more often than I usually do.

This isn't a duty finder, this is more just a vent.
My mentor cannot catch a break.
He needs the final doggo in order to complete the set. But he's given up on getting it before 5.0.
I cannot understand why people cannot do the mechanics for Wreath of Snakes (aka Snek Boi) properly. To me, as someone who has only been in the game for about 8 months, Snek Boi is the 2nd easiest Extreme fight of the current top content (behind Susano).
After 72 clears of danger noodle he has been in farm party after farm party after farm party and gotten nowhere.
He's started getting such bad luck that he's started keeping a tally.
He's wiped to 1% enrage... 38 times.
Wiped to the opening set of explodey dirt mounds... 16 times.
Wiped to the ultimate... 18 times.
Wiped to the first split stack.... 24 times. The second... 28 times.
Either set of meteors... 27 times.
Even when he does clear, roll on the doggo only to get beaten by someone else (ie come 2nd when roll for the doggo) ... 9 times.
And finally, number of parties where it's been set to lootmaster. He's the next person in line to get the doggo if it drops and then party disbands... 5 times.
After being in some of these groups with me as a WHM, I've almost come to the conclusion that if I, as a healer, have to LB3, the run is lost.
We've been in parties where the SAM we were with was averaging almost 9.0k DPS and my mentor on MNK having almost 7.0k DPS and even they can't drag these people through it.
My mentor used to really like the fight of Snek Boi, lately though he has become so burned out by parties who cannot finish the fight that he's almost completely given up on the community. All he wants is his 99 runs now. He doesn't care if he doesn't get the doggo at this stage. He's just going to get all the weapons and stop (I think he only has the WHM staff and DRG weapon to go).
And I can't say that I blame him.
The number of times that I've seen people in Snek Boi with Alpha Savage gear from head to toe and iLvl 40X and they end up tanking the floor to the same mechanic... EVERY... SINGLE... TIME.
Had a run in Sirensong Sea last night with a monk who just auto-attacked things and stood in every AoE. Our healer finally got a little irritated and goes "Man you're just getting hit by everything!" at which point he just guns it for a circle and dies. We didn't noticeably kill the boss any slower afterwards.
Like I said I don't main healing classes so my knowledge isn't good on itIf you're referring to the level 41 dungeon, the healer doesn't have Benediction as it is a level 50 ability (Stone Vigil is synced up to level 43).

I'd love to go and be a healer but my problem is,from my first healing experience as AST at Brayflox Longstop,I panic really really badly when I see the tank at low health/dead
Should I practice healing more or put it away ?The thing is,and my example isn't from an mmo,but I used to main healers in Overwatch which to be fair is completely different from here especially when scrolling down on a controller on Ps4 is nowhere near as convenient as clicking with a mouse and tapping on keyboard hotbars
The reason I decided to level up RDM is so at least I can pick up some of the slack a mediocre healer might cause and help other good healers stay focused while I verraise and verrcure if necessary
Seiryu EX is quite easy but for whatever reason most tanks I met always.....ALWAYS wipe at Cursekeeper on the second phaseThis isn't a duty finder, this is more just a vent.

Nowadays when I hear Snake boi scream "BIG NOT FOR MERCY" I ready myself for a potential wipe xD
