"Can you guys kick me? I forgot to get my gear repaired after it broke."

To cut to the chase, the AST left, the PLD also left, then we got replacements in the form of a WHM and another PLD, and the run went fairly smoothly, even with the RDM not watching where they were displacing to and pulling the next pack of mobs by accident...

I had something very similar happened when I got Ala Mhigo for my level 70 dungeon roullette a while ago.

an RDM lalafell asked us to kick him because he "queued to this dungeon by mistake".

How does someone even queue to a very specific instance by mistake?Cuz he could withdraw before clicking ok on the queue when it pops up xD

This actually happened to me a few more times than I'd like to admit....wooooops....I always just accept though, declining a queue makes me feel bad.

I've actually done this before. It's fairly easy to check a second duty and forget to uncheck the first one and then queue in without realizing it sometimes.

I've done that many times across different MMOs. When I do it though, I just hold my peace and run the instance in question - rather than mess up everyone else's day. Usually if it's one I hit by mistake, it'll also be one I know and can do fast, and...

    call me weird...

But I actually like playing these games...

So if I get the wrong one, I still have fun.

I'm in that extremely rare set of people who are in MMOs for the gaming experience, and actually enjoy playing the things I pay for... and not the shiny stuff at the end that is itself only for letting you play more of the game anyway...

I know I'm a freak that way... I've been told many times over the years to 'go go go' or in forums that I need to 'L2P' because I had posted an argument in some MMO that I was fine with the instance in question having 'poor loot' because it was fun anyway...

I'm always a little baffled at the people who want to leave a dungeon because they don't "need it"... We don't need any of this. It's all just for fun.

(I'm not saying we don't appreciate the loot / rewards of runs, just that I don't need it personally - which of course then makes it a lot easier for me to run that instance I queued by mistake because 90% of my 'thing' is running the content itself, even if I've already done that ride before.)

You're not weird,I play 14 for more than just loot and high end raids.

Heck I have my own weird reasons for playing FF14 which btw is actually my first MMO

Some of my favorite dungeons and trials either have outdated/bad loot or in some cases for a few trials no loot at all(Hi Nabriales)

Awhile ago i was doing alliance raid roulette and got world of darkness. Immediately on the first pull of trash i ended up dying. No tank was doing their job (Like usual in alliance raids). And i said in party chat "Tank? Do your job?"

And then i was met with snarky responses like "Diversion, use it." Okay sure, i can use diversion but that's no excuse for 3 tanks to not be in tank stance and not doing their jobs.

Then on the first boss i ended up dying to doom and i said to the healer "Esuna?"

And yes i know i was wrong now, you can't esuna it off you have to stand on the platform. But it had been awhile since i had done that fight, so i screwed up and was at fault.

But then i was met with snarky remarks again like "You have level 70 healers and you don't know what can and can't be esuna'd off?"

Afterwards i ended up getting kicked.

Not going to lie it pissed me off. Sure i was wrong about the Esuna thing, but you don't have to come off like a total jerk about it.

To be honest i think i was grouped up with a group of friends. Because they were quite toxic and all jumped on me together.

I'm far from perfect and make a lot of mistakes. But there really is no reason to group on someone and berate them.

Overall the community is good for the most part. I don't have tons of bad experiences like that, but i do have a few. I posted one earlier about a stubborn healer who wouldn't dps.

If i can remember another one i will post again with another bad experience, or maybe a future experience waiting to happen.

To be fair, it's still possible to come across players during Deathgaze (Dun Scaith) or Exdeath (Delta v.4) that fail to Esuna the Doom off their allies in time, resulting in a number of deaths. So it goes to show at any level mistakes can happen, we are only human after all. Though whether they are intentional mistakes or not is a completely different matter (e.g. those healers that continue to DPS instead of casting Esuna and/or healing in a pinch...).

there there *lala hug*. you did your best.

we all make mistakes like this from time to time.Even the best ultimate clearing players makes mistakes,we're human after all.

And tbh, this mistake didn't deserve an outright kick cuz after Angra Manyu the other bosses are relatively easier in terms of handling debuffs so as a DPS you never really dragged the party down compared to the jerk tanks who didn't bother to go into tank stance just for their oh so precious "parse numbers"

I hate how people jump so easily on any vote kick/abandon that comes their way without thinking of the consequences or why it was initiated in the first place.People should pay a bit more attention to both what's happening in chat and in-game before judging they should go with the initiated vote kick or not

If i remember correctly(and i could be wrong cuz i heard that from someone since i never played 1.0) it's because people were spamming people with crafting classes inside dungeons to repair their gear almost constantly, people complained about this and it resulted in them removing the ability to repair the gear of anyone beside yourself if you're inside an instance

Sorry you got removed, but maybe in the future try not to start with the snarks yourself. You got snarky with the tanks (right or wrong), you shouldn't be shocked that you got it back later.

While I’m sorry that you got kicked, you should honestly be using Diversion as a DPS. I would not be happy to see a comment such as the one you made in chat if you aren’t also doing your job, which including managing enmity. That’s why the developers gave everyone enmity tools. There’s literally no reason not to use it.

Even if the tanks weren’t in tank stance, why are you not pressing a free button?

Did you expect all three of them to be in a tank stance? There’s no point of that in a level 50 raid, because aggro will be bouncing everywhere, especially if you have PLDs, which only have their aggro combo at level 50—only the MT should be in a stance, and if they weren’t, you can hold bosses just fine in a DPS stance as a tank if your DPS manage their enmity.

Enmity is not just a tank’s responsibility.

This reminds me of a BLM I had in an Orbonne run last night. He was doing sub-3,000 DPS (literally the tanks and healers were out-damaging him in most instances), but kept ripping aggro from the MT because they refused to hit Diversion/Lucid. When told “use Diversion/Lucid” after dying in Agrias to the tank cleave (lol), they actually used both at the same time... during TGC... where it doesn’t matter because TGC always autos the tank in each alliance... Never used it again.

But, this also goes to show that high enmity =/= high DPS.
