I mean most dudes playing Miqote, au ra, or midlander are dressing up in cutesy tops, skirts heels, so the only difference is the character's gender.Looks kind of like the reverse of how I've done my character. Made my female Elezen as boyish as I could.
As far as the "accused" players.

IDK? Looks pretty normal for today's standards.![]()

It was legitimately upsetting. In my real life I've been embracing my femininity and have been terrified to talk about it in public. I was starting to feel good about all the progress I'd made irl in loosing weight and the like but this post kind of sent me back a bit emotionally.
On a related note: If you're MT old content and it's obvious you have a fairly weak group, it's probably not a great idea to try out an innovative tanking strat on a boss with multiple tetchy mechanics. I agree with your positioning logic to a point, and yes the OT's weren't helping (because let's face it, they pretty much never do) and YES I probably should have explained myself better instead of just immediately getting angry when you shrugged off any responsibility but I was unfortunately too busy trying to keep people alive while we collectively tried to figure out what the hell was going on. In a group that actually knew the mechs, this strat might have worked better (it would have made no real difference in a good group but it would have been an ahhhh moment) but in this group it was just... bad. People already weren't positioning according to Alliance, even vaguely to kill their adds. Your intentions to help the raid avoid cleaves did not work; not in the way you intended anyway. Because what we saved in cleaves (if any), we lost due to poor position when all the other crap happened. Yeah, it's RNG but cutting off the entire room with the bosses body--making everyone have to run thru him to get to one part of a mechanic, them back through was really just... why? I mean, what do you choose when your choice is Shrink Puddle, Direct boss damage, Eat Puddle or un-tanked adds (and you're not the Belly alliance).
Is it your fault for the rampant ineptitude? No. There was a lot of skullduggery going on that was not on you at all. But justifying yourself by saying that you couldn't do anything about it wasn't exactly right either. You could have moved the boss, when it became obvious that the position it was in was not doing anything but causing more problems for those who did know the mechs. Telling me it's not your fault I can't dodge is irrelevant since the only damage I took was from the boss' FACE as he swung around like a pendulum, and from adds that liked my sparkly heals. Yeah I got salty, but not until you tried to justify doing what you did by making it everyone else's problem. It was a good strat in theory, but it didn't work. Partly because execution and partly because situation. Bad call, in any case.
Maybe next time give a heads up, at least to your party (and don't rush every ready-check).

In dungeons yes you're right, but in trials and raids, especially if you're a ranged physical DPS or caster, your options for reducing enmity has quite the long cool down
As a bard I only have Refresh and Tactician to reduce enmity off me but I need them(especially Refresh) for when the party starts running low on MP and TP
Regardless of our enmity managements, the main tank and Off tank's job is to be on the top of the enmity list most of if not at all times especially in bosses like Shinryu EX and Neo Exdeath who both has mechanics that target both players on top of the enmity list(And it's even more paramount on Neo exdeath cuz he resets enmity after each Grand Cross)
First of all, your character is gorgeous. I can almost never get male cats right, and I'm jelly at how good yours is. Second of all, 80% of the 'females' on here are dudes. I suspect a significant portion of the 'male' population is actually female as well. Therefore, anything said about your character is both hypocritical and based purely on biased aesthetic. Passively telling you to act like a 'boy' is them really saying 'act like what I think a boy is.' Their perception of gender is not your problem, so try not to take it to heart. It was legitimately upsetting. Clothes don't really make the man. Or the woman. Its what you stand up for. So wear your bunny suit with pride (like my beautiful male alt does). <3
I am starting to get really frustrated now. 7 times out of ten now, I will rip aggro from the main tank after I shade them and even pop a diversion on myself after shades duration goes down.
After dealing with df shenanigans today on suzaku normal, went into o11s and was almost ripping aggro away by the time level checker appeared. When the boss comes back and starts his big fists, I have aggro. And I can't shade again because it's still on cooldown.
And of course, typically I get told to stop ripping aggro. Like, wtf else am I supposed to do? If I threw a shade and have used diversion and I still take aggro, why are you blaming me and kicking me out of the party???
Oh and to add to the fun, the tank (WAR) threatened to report me for trolling. Maybe FFXIV just isn't the game for me. So damn frustrated right now.
Yesterday was both a good and a bad day simultaneously somehow xD
Good cuz I managed to get the Suzaku dog mount with ease AND the weapon for my BRD and DRK.By this point I have all the dog mounts except for Tsukiyomi so I went back to refarm her again ...........and this is where the bad part starts
Beside the first farm where half of our DPS and a healer died to basic mechs,in the second farm, our Paladin adamantly refused to have Tsukiyomi face North or at least ONE direction consistently and kept spinning her around thus killing 3 party members when she casted Dark blade
I tell the Paladin to have her face north and what does he do?He drags Tsukiyomi to me after I was rezzed and made absolutely sure that I'd eat the Torment into Death cleave with him,I literally was running away from him yet he kept following me until he killed us both,I left the farm group so flabbergasted.Like....was he panicking or did he do it on purpose?
Most of the party at the time he did this was alive and we didn't decide to wipe and start again so what was that for?
Like I said on previous pages, people like this are dime a dozen on almost all online games not just FFXIV.I am starting to get really frustrated now. 7 times out of ten now, I will rip aggro from the main tank after I shade them and even pop a diversion on myself after shades duration goes down.

If you give up you let them win. A lot of us here ran into similar type of tanks on O11 NM,just blacklist the person who threatened you and report them.Even if the GMs doesn't take actions immediately you at least won't run into him again if he's blacklisted(unless there is a rare occasion where u can run into them but i haven't experienced that yet)

This has been a recurring issue lately. I take aggro, at least one jumps on my case about it; I point out that I always use shade and pop diversion when necessary. Next pull, either come dangerously close to taking aggro, or just outright take it. Usually, either I get kicked, I quit the party myself, or we find a way to clear (usually from the offtank voke and shirking). There's a reason why I'd been playing exclusively in eureka. At least then I don't have people yelling at me.Like I said on previous pages, people like this are dime a dozen on almost all online games not just FFXIV.

Welcome to the new status quo. You're either a much better NIN than he was a WAR, or he did the thing. The DPS thing. Maybe both. #puglifeI am starting to get really frustrated now. 7 times out of ten now, I will rip aggro from the main tank after I shade them and even pop a diversion on myself after shades duration goes down.

Sorry for my curiousity but, when casting shade you made sure to target the tanks with it?I'm not blaming you or anything it's just I wondered.....cuz I don't use shade that much myself and diversion has always been enough to keep aggro away from me.It isn't your fault and it's unfortunate you had this many bad luck instances on O11.
Usually when stuff like this happen to me I either put the instance down for a while or try a different class, again not your fault but it could help even a little bit.
