Just had a realy winner of a WAR in Void Ark.

Fights were going ok, beat the first boss just fine. Second trash, of course, lacked coordination and we wiped, but I helped get everyone coordinated to be able to handle that trash pack and get us to the second boss. (Early pulls and no waymarks is a bad time.)

No problem. On to Boss #2: Puppy and Tentacle Tree.

It's going well. Our warrior picks up the main puppy, just as is to be expected from any warrior. For some reason they seem to abhor main tanking until that pup comes up, then they all wanna do it. Fight goes well until Shockwave Stomp. I get everyone buffed up with Medica II behind the safety barrier, and don't notice the Warrior is still out there.

He holmgangs, but before I can get back in to Bene him, he's down. Turns out well enough, we lose one, maybe two dps while he re-establishes threat, and things go back to normal.

After the fight, I just ask him if he's gonna holmgang that to let me know - I can get him with some pre-emptive buffs to help make sure that he'll be fine (as a WHM, regen + Medica II + Asylum is pretty potent and will buy him a few extra seconds that I needed to cap him off.)

    "I don't have a keyboard"

Well, if it's a skill you use often, write a macro for it.

    "I don't tank often."

Well, then don't do it. I'd rather you live than to die to that mechanic and have the boss go loose.

The warrior just gets... goddamn HYPER salty about this. I point out that my Benediction didn't have time to get him, he says I should Tetragram (Which, yes, would save 1 second because of animation activation differences between the two.) He starts to basically become a troll tank from there.

He tanks his add loosely on the next trahs (getting hit multiple times, didn't bother to stun), makes comments that "If he was a healer it would've been fine." Generally just becomes an unproductive prick. One vote dismiss fails though, so oh well - guess there's enough people that want to keep him around.

Third boss, he starts standing in all the mechanics. Tentacles falling? He somehow gets TWO stacks of concussion (a feat in itself) per slam. The bile below on the ground that one shots, he dies to. And then he releases. His reason?

"Not like I was gonna get a res anyways" (Might be in reference to the fact that I ressed for other parties first, a few people missed it and I figured our sCH or SMN would cover our party for res.)

So he proceeds to sit outside the instance for the rest of the fight, continuing to talk shit here and there. As soon as the fight ends, vote dismiss for him is initiated again. Kicked him out before the loot could even be distributed.

Last boss isn't too easy - we wipe once due to no tank for inprogress. So I decide to step out, switch over to my tank (warrior main) and come back in. Instantly replenished our healer, too, so we're all good there. Then we clear the last boss - and two fending pieces drop.

To that goblin warrior tank, all I have to say is.
    You are aweful.

Except for 1 tank who had trouble adjusting to the advice of someone who had a lvl 60 tank, in Tam-Tara, it was all nice.
I'm glad you're having a good experience so far

Ah forgot to tell this. My friend was helping me get the last few exp for my WHM in the Library, we wipe at the boss thanks to my controller DCing and both the DPS leave. So my friend and I decide to 2-man the Demon Tome.................took like 15 minutes but we did it!!! Of course halfway through the next trash pull 2 DPS show up. Easy after that.

even if I have the right to have only 1 cross class doesnt mean I cant switch. I use cleric stance as first cross class but when I run low level I switch give protect switch back to cleric and i am good...no need to bother with that again...it is pretty easy to do. I ask for a few secs to get out of CD and there we go.

Yesterday, I was leveling my War in Dusk Vigil.
Obviously, the dps overall was a bit low but it was okay for me because I wanted to be focused on my job and not on the others.
After, I began to manage the monster until the mammoth, I decided to see why summoner was low with his dps (~225 on parser).
Firsly, he had Ifrit egi, why not.
And then, on the mammoth, i saw only Ruin. So that's explain his dps and i assumed he didn't used any dot before.
After the fight, i told him to use Bio, Miasma, etc., and that I had the impression he was a bot.
He didn't change his manner of playing.
After 2-3 packs of mobs, me and the others of the team kicked him and got a good Mch after

You can just turn on Swiftcast, switch to protect, and Swiftcast will still be active. Just a fun tip.

I'd like to think I'm a good healer, but man, yesterday I had a WAR in Saint something something for expert and they just... they were wearing paper armour. 3 hits took them to below half health and I was on 2k mana until the first boss. They had full fending and stayed in Defiance, but not a single cooldown was used. Well, except foresight but eh, it doesn't do much. No IB, or anything defensive. We get to the pull between the walls and they were at about 4k health by the time they got to the 2nd honeycomb and I just couldn't, tetra and bene be damned. We rezzed and they just went straight to the wall again, no buffs. I pull aggro while he's pulling because if I don't heal, he'll be dead before he even gets to the 2nd wall. Well, I die first this time instead because of all the adds on me and then we wiped again.

    It wasn't a pleasant experience ;^;

The Aetherochemical Research Facility. A Black Mage was spamming Blizzard II and didn't want to use Flare because "Blizzard II was more sustainable dps" and "Flare eats all my MP".

Also he said "because Flare eats all my MP I need full MP to use it".

He wouldn't take any advice that his rotation needed changing.

It was a slow, slow run. I don't know how this guy managed to get to level 60 and through all the many story mode quests without knowing the basics of his own class.

You can lvl by doing fates and when you hit 60 just do your msq and job mission. Most people don't read and just skip CS whenever is possible.

When HW was released for 3 weeks, I encountered a drg that didn't know he got buffs to increased his dmg. The tank and healer were insulting him. I said a few things saying that is not needed to insult a person just cuz they want to. They could just give him an advise. They stayed to target me too =] (people are amusing). The thing I want to point out is that this person got to lvl 59 and he got not idea of what skills would give him buffs and he didn't use all his combos. It would have given him apass if he would have not use lvl50+ buffs, but pre-hw buffs and he didn't know as well as what skills are combos and just randomly hit the mobs as if they were dummies was a stupid. Then again we have fates that let you lvl all the way to 60.

Sadly, there is no requirements at any point to actually learn your job. Case in point, I leveled DRG from 35 to 50 in a 7-10 hour grind off nothing but fates. Now I did it with the express intent of unlocking all my skills so I could settle into the lvl50 rotation via guides I found, but you'll find more than a few who don't care whatsoever to actually figure this stuff out. It's one my main complaints about the job questline. They should require people to understand the basics and a semi-competent rotation, even if not necessarily the best. Hopefully, the Hall of Novice will alleviate that somewhat.
