GASP......HOW DARE YOU XDThat's so cute. I love these stories and I wish I met more people like that. The social dimension of the game seems to disappear sometimes, and I like to be reminded that there are people behind thoses characters, making jokes, chatting a bit, talking about burning lalafells. I really enjoy these moments, and it's such a good compensation for the (very few) times I met agressive and evil people.
I thought we were all united together to exorcize the Elezen menace xD
That sounds fun! As much as I like quick dungeons, sometimes it's nice to have a group that's willing to take it slow and have fun with it, even though I have trouble keeping up with conversations due to having to shuffle between my controller and the keyboard. Some of the most memorable runs I've had were the ones with people actually talking to me and being friendly. Anyway, I'm glad you made some new friends!Friend requests make me incredibly nervous. Queued up as NIN for a quick and easy run in Halatali HM and met some really wonderful players. More often than not, I try to remain as friendly as possible, but I will also go out of my way to keep a completely low profile (other than Eureka because sometimes, you need to communicate). These folks...the DRK, the BRD, the SCH...
They just randomly struck up a conversation with me. In the 15 minutes we were there, we chatted about 4.5, to pizza, to even a brief role-play - something I'd never even gotten into. So to the three from Adamantoise that actually managed to get me out of my shell, thank you. It was a joy running with you guys and one of my most smoothest dungeon experiences ever.
...friend requests still make me very nervous though. I like the little bubble I built for myself, but I'll give it a shot.

The Lost City of Ampador (Hard). Leveling my Dark Knight, im in my artifact level 60 gear with some shire accessories. I am having a bit of trouble keeping emnity wit hthe red mage/samurai. I can hold it, but I have to keep to an emnity rotation most of the fights. I ask the Dps if they can use diversion. This starts a literal sh*t storm with the SAM. I get called sh*t, etc. (the usual).. So, I just let him have the aggro since he wants it so bad. At this point the SAM refuses to do anything, and just afks while talking poop he even starts getting aggressive with the healer, and the healer literally said and did nothing to them! Tells the rest of the party either kick him, or kick me. We get to the last boss, he gets teleported to the fight and suicides in aoe. We 3 manned it. The Red Mage still wasn't using diversion. I managed but it wasn't optimal.
I didn't know asking a dps to use diversion was such an issue!

As a bard, every time I see dps creep in on enmity and don't use diversion I think "If you aren't going to use it, can I have it?"
Refresh and tactician aren't always enough
Decided to finally do some level 70 content with white mage since I bought a new weapon. Results: level 70 roulette, disaster. Lighthouse, definite disaster. I'm learning though.

It shouldn't be. The fact that you asked instead of just berating the team or shirking into compliance makes you a better tank than the ones that do the latter. The team should have already been adjusting to your gear level (you said artifact gear, right? The i200 stuff?) because especially if they were in better gear, you likely would have been playing tug of war even if you went full tank stance and aggro combos. There's a few pages of debate over this, but there's a lot of us out there that aren't on a optimized rotation; myself included (though I'm certainly more self-aware now XD). Your SAM was still out of line. A) Because he was toxic and B) because even if he wasn't willing to use Diversion, he should have still been prepared to do whatever was necessary to get through the duty and he made it very clear that he wasn't. (There's other things you can do to manage aggro, Diversion is just one of the easiest).
You communicated with your team. You made it work. The closer you get to high-end, the more you'll see people doing the optimal as the norm I just... wouldn't expect it too much in the lower end stuff. Sorry you had to deal with that. :/
Yeah, I wasn't having an issue actually tanking. I could tank the damage even on large mobs very easily, but there was a lot of dps creeping on my threat. I complimented the healer, so that's probably why they took it out on the healer at one point. The majority of the fight I was having do the regular emnity combo. I was telling the SAM, if you use diversion we can put more damage on the boss since I would be able to do slightly more damage. It's as if I insulted them or something. I have no idea how something can devolve so fast over nothing! It shouldn't be.
