He probably used a Jump potion. Something I wish they never put out.To my DRK co-tank on Kefka normal: I asked you why you were spamming Power Slash as the offtank. "It does more dmg" is... what? I'm sorry what?
Hard slash (150) + Spinning slash (220 + enmity) + Power Slash (300 as a combo OR 240 not used as a combo with DRK arts, or 440 potency with dart arts AS A COMBO with enmity). IT DOES NOT DO MORE THAN 440 POTENCY (excluding things like darkside but that's a given).
*Facedesk* I gave up and just shirked him.
Edit:
Just got a paladin offtank spamming the halone combo. What is with people? I really wish I were making these things up but it's a running joke with some people in my FC about my awful DF luck.
Today I had the pleasure of running Tam-tara with three new sprouts. The run started off with the MRD who never used overpower the entire dungeon losing hate on the first set of trash mobs. This tank stood in every aoe and I don't think used any buffs. All I know is the CNJ had to spam cure to keep him alive and even that didn't work all the time. I suggested the tank use any skills for taking less damage, but we almost wiped. Thank goodness for the ARC who pulled out titan and saved us lol!
It was a long leveling roulette, but I tried to give them all encouragement at the end. I haven't had a run like that in a long time. Now excuse me while I go cry in a corner :P
My (hopeful) guess is they meant to have that gear for glamour (some of it was Replica Allagan gear). Equipped it to see how it looked, DF popped, they forgot they were in sub-par gear. But since they didn't switch it out even after being asked about it, I'm honestly not sure.
Doma Castle just now was a huge pain. Party is WHM (me), DRK, SAM, SMN. The DRK was quite possibly the worst tank I've ever seen. He definitely didn't understand tanking at all, and was only attacking a single target. Didn't even do AoE enmity until I was getting pummeled to death after a single cast. He would not use it more than once, so I would just be getting punched to death a few seconds later anyway. He also had no issues with pointing the bad directly at the rest of the party. The funniest part: he was using defensive buffs as they were up. Lotta good that does when the healer is the one taking all the hits.
The SAM kept pulling mobs way ahead of the tank. I let him die twice and he still didn't get the hint. Neither the SAM or the DRK knew how to dodge even the most obvious AoEs.
SMN was the only good one, and kept throwing MP my way, because I needed it with all the Cure II spam I was doing to keep myself alive since I was tanking most of the mobs.
We wiped at the armored weapon because the DRK outright ignored the adds. I brought them straight to him and even mentioned it in chat. As soon as the 2nd set of adds dropped and Launcher went off, we wiped because I was taking far too many hits to even be able to cast spells. The DRK finally responded about the adds saying "Yea I noticed". I ask why he didn't grab them despite me bringing them right to him, and was met with the usual dead slience. We almost wiped on the final boss, multiple times, because the DRK and SAM literally stood directly on top of the roomwide AoE. Not close to the center, but literally point-blank in the middle of it. I have no idea how they didn't die, but they went to critical HP every time.
Its incredible how a tank can get that far and not have even the slightest clue how to pull trash correctly. Even if they leveled it in PotD they should know how a pull a mob by the time they get to Doma. No sprouts in the party BTW, in case you were wondering.

A friend of mine is leveling AST and they've gotten to the point that their next spammable dungeon is Bardam's - ugh. I come along on RDM just to help move things along and because having someone in there who can spot raise is never a bad thing
Lucky I did or depending on the other dps they got I could have seen them hitting the time limit.
The party also included a PLD and another RDM. The PLD didn't have an Oath on during the first pull so hate pingponged everywhere (thank you Diversion) but this RDM.... wowzers.
To start off the only Ver- spell they used the entire dungeon was Vercure. I'm not joking, my friend parsed it and told me.
As an almost-but-not-quite-RDM-main I wanted to explain things to them but the awful attitudes of people on the OF kept creeping back into my head. They only used basic proc spells and Scatter/Vercure.
In single-target situations I did more damage than the rest of the party combined by a fair margin.
I can't help but think that these are the groups people get that make dungeons seem hard. If I hadn't accompanied my AST friend and they got an Ice Mage in my place or even worse if this PLD and other RDM had been paired with similarly skilled players I could have legitimately seen the dungeon disbanding or perhaps timing out if no one quit.
When an undergeared and inexperienced AST healing a squishy tank is the second in dps for an entire instance... really just driving home the point that some people have no knowledge of their class or respect for the time of other players.
Are there more tanks being assholes these days, or did I just get caught off guard whenever they decide not to use a tank stance or cooldowns? Queued into Brayflox HM and this DRK just grabbed every single mob from the start until the first gate. They were in Grit + Darkside and I was on SCH. I don't know if we have the tools when synced down to 50 to handle that huge wall-to-wall pull, or if it's because I'm not used to these pulls on SCH, but man, even with doing nothing but heal the tank, they were taking far more damage than I could heal. It got to the point that I ended up spamming six Lustrates in a row while Rouse+Whispering Dawn+Fey Illumination were active, with one Swiftcast Aldo weaved in to stop the damage, and that did nothing save buy us an extra 2 seconds.
I made mention that I'm not sure I have the tools to handle a wall-to-wall pull at synced level 50. After the first boss, the DRK just quit. I mean, I'm sorry that I can't help you rush through the dungeon, but at least give us the courtesy of saying something Mr. Mentor Tank. Fortunately, we got a PLD to queue in, and we got through the rest of the dungeon just fine, and in very good time too. But can SCHs handle that first wall-to-wall pull? Can't be an Ilvl thing - all my gear is at 120 (I haven't completed 2.1 for reasons).
I generally have a macro I hit whenever I que to tank for a 4 man dungeon. Macro basically goes. "Welcome to Tanky-Mart! Please Make your selections! Selection 1: 1 group, 2 groups or 3 groups? Selection 2: 1 for Defensive, 2 for Offensive during trash. Selection 3: 1 for Defensive 2 for Offensive during Bosses. Selection 4: If PLD, would you like me to heal others in Danger with Clemency 1 for yes, 2 for no. Please input selection in #### format for example, 2121. Thank-you for choosing Tanky-Mart!
If they stay silent, give a smart ass response, rude response, or generally say to do what I please, it will not only be the healers own fault if anyone complains, but I generally will go with program 2111. :P And not change it even if they ask midway.
