But this was about mentor roulette, where you can get pretty much anything and might get some old ARR ex primal synced that no one remembers how to do synced anymore. My first playthough, I never spoiled anything for myself as the game tells you who you're going to face in the dungeon. The guides (Mizztech's in specific) only cover the fights. Its the tech age, I'm not asking you go read up 5 paragraphs per dungeon, youtube has you covered, as do the wiki's.
Stopping to watch a video for that isn't super practical.

I mean, having multiple 70s won't stop you from being one shot if you don't remember the difference between bow form and staff form and youre synced down to 50. Theres not much excuse for dps failing the check but the tank thing is somewhat forgiveable. Can I ask why you chose to do it through duty finder instead of PF?I mean that should be what most if not all people do correct? As a healer I have to know all the mechanics of every dungeon/trial/raid, I decide to heal in. The same with tanking. I don't go in blind with any content. Just not how I'm built, especially not for higher tier content. But this was Shiva with a bunch of people who had multiple 70's...imagine the magnitude of my facepalms.
I guess she found your lala cute and wanted to make you her pet.Got a super weird healer who keep using Rescue on me everytime it available in Hell's Lid few days ago
I was neither standing in AoE nor stay out of her healing range when my co-dps was standing in the really bad spot with 3 stacks debuff but didn't even get a single healing, eh?
I thought she misclicked at first or probably confused me with another dps since we were range dps but not the same class.
Nope, I was the only one there that caught her eyes… so many rescues and overheal on me instead of tank or my co-dps (I saw the tank using clemency almost all of the run… poor PLD).
Even the run went quit well(but lack of healing) and mobs died very quickly I still think it was the most stressful run I ever had.![]()
Tactic > practicality, though one could very easily argue that Tactic is part of being pragmatic.

I wasn't talking about sync level, I was talking about tactic. From people not standing in the right spots, to dps not passing the check. It was bad on all fronts.
Also I was running through all the trials for items I might have missed for other classes. Never really required PF since damn near all pugs I run into, do them just fine. Statistically I had to run into a group of morons eventually....and now I lament about them on here....Good times.
Here's the fun part about all of that...not one of them got online, got on youtube and typed Haukke Manor run. So adults (I presume), found a way to pay for a game, with their credit card, install said game onto the PC they bought and or assembled, and not do research. Paying to lose in a game on your own volition is never excusable to me.
You know no one looks up guides for dungeons in ffxiv right? Especially not easy leveling dungeons. Additionally, nothing wrong with that run had anything to do with not knowing the dungeon and had everything to do with the drk not knowwing how to hold aggro well. Here's the fun part about all of that...not one of them got online, got on youtube and typed Haukke Manor run. Plenty of youtube vids on dungeon runs get views, so clearly someone is looking up guides. The point is that everyone should stay informed, especially healers and tanks. I don't coddle ignorance.
...? Again, that experience had... Nothing to do with knowing the dungeon or not. That was tank inexperience with low level tanking and potentially someone trying healer out for the first time or just cutting their losses with a tank they were having trouble working with.
Some people don't want to be spoiled by looking a video of the dungeon before stepping in.
