While I wasn't particularly enraged or irritated with it or anything, I did find it a strange thing.

Still in the process of leveling my first tank, and running Aery. There's this WHM and SAM in the group that I'm pretty sure was one guy dual boxing. These two characters acted strange from the very beginning. So I make the first pull, the MNK and I are the only ones really attacking while the WHM is keeping me alive, and the SAM was just afk over at the start of the dungeon. Never said anything, just wasn't moving. Then when one of the two mobs died and the damage I was taking lessened, the SAM started moving. He hit Diversion for some reason and came towards me. While the SAM is moving the WHM isn't really doing anything, SAM gets there just in time to help finish off the last few bits of HP on it. No big deal, move onto the next pack of three as a whole group. SAM just stands there while the WHM is healing me and the MNK and I are doing all the killing. SAM starts helping again when there's one mob left. This next part is the funny part. We get to the first boss and engage it, the WHM hits me with a Regen and Medica 2, then just stands in melee range and auto attacks, then the SAM kicks it up. The fight goes smoothly until about, say, 35% HP left on the boss or so. The dual boxer is so focused on dps'ing as his SAM, he doesn't notice his WHM get hit by the tether. When he finally does notice, the WHM doesn't even sprint, just runs straight forward towards the statue directly across the way from him and doesn't make it. WHM dies, and we somehow make it through the rest of the boss without dying. The rest of the run I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary and the run went fine after the first boss, but I still think it was a dual boxer. I suppose it could've been 2 people in the same room, but one had to afk as the queue popped and the remaining 1 tried to play both to not get either of the characters kicked, but it was a REALLY strange start, y'know?

Did leveling roulette early on my Paladin.Got the Vault.
Had 2 dragoons on my teams. One dragoon was new and told me it was his first time.
I explain everything to him for the fights so he does the mechanics quite well and thanked me for the advice.Meanwhile the other dragoon who was not new and level synced managed to pick up as many debuffs as possible in all the fights and died twice during second boss.It was almost like the experienced player decided it was a lower level dungeon so he could just ignore mechanics and focus dps.

So yesterday was pretty strange for me. I got Laskshmi normal during my roulettes as a SMN. What I noticed right away is that one of the party members had the same name and same job as me.

And I thought it would be fun to joke about it.

"Another Axel SMN." I said. "There can be only one."
"Ok" he replied, leaving me kind of dumbfounded, not knowing what to make out of it.

And suddenly when the duty started, everyone left, leaving me all alone.

I mean....it was just a joke. I even used the laugh emote. Did I make him angry or something ? I just wanted to be friendly D:

What the heck. I would've been freaked out if they left on me after joking about a name name.

fun story: got a sprout PLD for a tank in Sohr Khai, and sadly I have faint memory of the mechanics, so I wasn't able to help him with anything, but it was a smooth run (the 2 DPS were also great) and nobody complained when the tank went for a pause before boss to read up or when he didn't pull big. it was good vibes all the way!

kinda sad story: first time I've used benediction on a fellow WHM...in ST. checked on gear, named Shire set, got it. I usually don't mind if a co-healer decides to DPS more than heal in these runs because like most longtime players here, I could run it in my sleep, but at least heal yourself? I just couldn't stand seeing an HP bar at 10% in my party. :P

I got killed in ST the other day because of successive ice balls and more players than I care to count running past me with fire balls but not unfreezing me. And the other healer didn't bother throwing a heal my way at all. Self healing is all well and good but only if we aren't somehow incapacitated.

I've tanked 24mans lately too and the general theme seems to be everyone in tank stance and no one willing to pull. So I switch to tank stance and run into pull and then there is a three way aggro war, I drop out of tank stance and go to dps only to find the tanks in tank stance don't seem to actually want to tank and the dps is getting threat. So I switch back into tank stance and take threat back. Ask the tanks who clearly don't want to tank to drop tank stance and they just don't. I don't care if I'm MT or not, but why are you in here as a tank in tank stance if you don't want to tank the mobs?

    Two stories this time around.

First off, I'm leveling Monk and decided to do it the old fashioned way (woo dungeons). Queue up for Stone Vigil and my group's a SMN, PLD, and AST. The SMN and PLD are in a party it appears based on how they were talking to each other. Anyway, this tank is just.. Oh boy, he's a special sort of Lalafell tank who thinks running around more than a newbie Healer who accidentally caught aggro was the way to tank. So many positional bonuses lost, my poor Grease Lightning Stacks because I'm having to try to chase this jumping bean around while he parades the mobs all over the damn place, not to avoid AoE but simply running around. I ask him flat out "Excuse me, would you please stop wildly moving the mobs around? I can't do my job if you constantly move them out of my attack range."

To that I got a reply of "I only obey green snowflakes. I don't run outside the AST's healing range." That's really besides the point; AST heals from long range. Monk has to be close to even hit weaponskills. Oh and let's add on to the fact that he used Tank LB whenever he was able to. We suffered two or three wipes during that run because of his Mexican Jumping Bean-DNA with me being the last one standing each and every time.

Now for a good story. Dungeon setup again and get an In-Progress Cutter's Cry. Party composition is PLD, WHM, and RDM. THe PLD and WHM are in a party and the PLD is very new to tanking. Turns out they're both in the same FC and the WHM was giving the PLD helpful tips and the tank was learning as we went and was adapting to the situation. Said tank was moving mobs a bit, but after the WHM reminded him that Mnk are close range fighters he stopped swinging the packs all over the place and the run went very smooth. Good times were had by all

agree, also why there are 2 healers in alliance raids, because 1 might get incapacitated. but in my case this fellow WHM wasn't healing even his/herself. s/he would throw an occasional medica or medica II but only after I cast it myself. the time I used bene was during a trash pull when I've noticed his/her health is continuously dropping and not a single heal to self, just casting stone (or maybe it was holy, but still!). point is, as WHM you can heal yourself, don't let your health unnecessarily drop and wait for others to top it up for you when you're able to.

Well, what a strange run I just had. Castrum Meridianum. Queued up with 2 of my FC mates and a friend. We get to the first boss, someone (I think one of the ASTs) early pulls it. I go in to help deal with it. Everyone else has pulled out to deal with the adds. So I end up soloing the first boss of Castrum Meridianum, as a Dark Knight. Grit on the whole time, killing adds as they spawn, liberal use of Souleater, and tactical use of Dark Arts. I didn't die. I actually solo'd the boss. Now what was that about removing enrage timers?

Everything else after was pretty uninteresting, aside from the AST that literally tried to pull EVERYTHING before I could get to it...

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
