That is always my reaction to LoTA. Its a shame, I actually like the place but people want to speedrun it and refuse to wait for new people etc etc. Can be a shit show, but can also be entertaining ^^LotA last night for the seemingly billionth time this week, and had other people saying the same thing. It's like nothing else pops in Alliance roulette.
Anyhow, alliance B was hillarious. We spent the whole thing joking around about Costco, Tim Hortons, donuts, the glaze waterfall on a conveyor belt at Krispy Kreme, donut burgers... the entire run was really entertaining chat. Run itself had a mishap when somehow ancient flare killed us (looked like everyone was on pads), but everyone was upbeat and we got it next time.
Certainly took a "oh not this again" initial reaction and turned it into a really fun time.
Skalla, last night.
Had this party that'd not stop complaining about me not giving countdowns before pulls - not just bosses, pulls in general, not waiting between fights for their MP and cooldowns. Micromanaging what I was doing too; I mean sure, I'm always open to suggestions to improve my game but this was less suggestions and more berating me for pretty everything I did, whether my caution on skill usage emphasizing survival over DPS, or rushing into the next fight without a significant break no soon as the previous fight was cleared. At first I thought they might just be elitist jerks who felt because I wasn't religiously stance-dancing, I was "slowing down the game", but that didn't make any sense or they wouldn't be demanding count-downs and cooldown waits...
...then it clicked...
These guys are trying to max out their parses in a frickin' PUG!
At least the run ended with a satisfying moment of poetic justice, on the final boss I did everything exactly as they asked, and the RDM - the mouthiest of the three - wiped out on the bosses tailswipe, completely ruining any parse xD.

Alliance Roulette last night. Got Dun Scaith. Okay, nothing too hard even if I'm not the best SMN. First boss...I am surprised we didn't wipe. People were dying quite rapidly, I admit I died to bad timing(after dying to Doom - one healer had Esuna...but they were dead - ressed just as the red vortex sucks you in the first time, couldn't get out fast enough, and was sucked in to my death on the second pull it does) for one, but multiple raises had to be done by not just the two SCH in the party, but by the other alliances too(in addition to me when Swiftcast was off CD). Things kept going pretty much like that the entire time. People refusing to dodge, refusing to switch to the adds at Scathatch, completely ignoring all mechanics basically(even many of the "mentors" that were in there did it).
Bright side, pretty sure I saw someone I've seen around the forums in there(he was on a SMN wearing Dreadwyrm armour glamour...not sure if he will see this though, can't recall if I've ever seen him in this thread).
You could always report all 3 for breaking the rules for using a parser...trick however is they have to admit it.
But yeah..poetic justice for the win.
And asking for countdown timers on pulls? What? Seriously? I'd just laugh at them and tell them to deal with it. I mean...why or who even does that.
Bosses I do a ready check...countdowns can get annoying. Most people ignore them anyway.
I had what was probably the quickest run I've done through Kugane in expert last night with pretty much no issues whatsoever. I was a bit surprised to see the tank pull every mob between the second and last bosses, since I've never seen a group try to take on all the pulls at once there. To my surprise, we burnt through them pretty quickly, LB not even required, and no one died at all. They didn't say anything through the entire run, but in the end I ended up getting all three comms and got my achievement for 100 total comms! It's possible the other players may have been in a cross-server party together and had no one else to give the comms to, but either way it wasn't too shabby a night for me.
Canadian, eh!"When someone told me I live in a fantasy land, I nearly fell off my unicorn"
They didn't have to give them out at all. So if you get a good run and 3 comms, call it a win.![]()

Oh, believe me I have no complaints lol. Got a crown out of it, so I'll take those comms all the same :P
i've strangely (?) been encountering poor players in at least 3 lvl70 dungeons back to back... including a tank that never used cooldowns, a scholar that never once dps'd and a ninja/rdm that never once used their aoe, the latter being the most painful bc i hate when things die slow even tho i'm using aoe skills. like... hello?? observation skills go a long way and so does knowing the basics of your job. :v
