some people can be so lazy

I've found it's (more often than not) the fear of needing to heal and not being able to, a kind of paralysis that comes with unfamiliar content and/or low confidence in healing abilities (along with the tank's ability to handle incoming damage - if they drop from full to 10% on one tank buster, I won't be doing a lot of DPS).

But yeah, the rest of the time it's just plain laziness. Had one healer announce, "I'm eating, so if you die, you die." 3rd trash pull, zero heals, TPW.

This was actually the morning of the 1st. I que'd for Trials on my AST (lvl 67 at the time) and popped into Chrysalis. I was paired up with a WHM (incidentally enough, has the same last name as my character). We have two DRK tanks that also have the same last name. And are a couple.

I start off with Noct. Sect. Right out the bat, I noticed that the main tank is very squishy. By the time I finished with Draw and Royal Road, he has about 1/4 of his HP left. I Essential Dignity'd him, but my heal didn't make it in time. He was down for the count. The other tank was just as much of a paper tank as he is, and she went down the count as fast as he did.

So I switched to Diurnal Sect. I figured the extra regen from Aspected Helios would help with my cohealer's Medica 2. But the tanks still went down so fast that myself and my cohealer is pretty much speechless by this time. We were both called out by the second tank. "Best healers 2018", she said. Didn't really phase me too much. It was 8 in the morning for me. But one of the the DPS called her out and told them they're "Paper Tanks 2018".

Before our third go, one of the DPS then called me out about being in the wrong stance. He insisted that I should be Noct. Sect for the shields. I explained I want my A. Helios to stack with the WHM's Medica 2. He still insisted I'm in the wrong sect and that they don't stack. After I explained one more time, he finally shut up.

Anyway, I know a lot of parties wipe on Chrysalis. I just don't like it when people blame their healers or anyone else in the party.

Edit: Forgot to ask, what's your opener? Because obviously if I just do F2, F2, Flare, I has no MP left for another flare lol

So the two opener variants i use most often are these: Swift B3 Eno B4 T4 F3 or T4 Sharp F1 Eno F3(procd - often tabbed to a second target to spread threat). The first one assures you 2 F2s and 2 Flares(3 if you convert - remember that using flare with 1+ umbral hearts means it doesnt burn all your mana) are available your first round, the second gets you into hitting all the mobs quicker(and can still get off both flares with a convert). When the fights are quick/close together i dont always have time for CDs to come back, so i can alternate openers and always be ready. And of course, when it isnt the first pull of the dungeon i always try to have a foul primed.

Recently had marauder in Stone Vigil. Mobs were running everywhere. Tank was unresponsive and finally booted. Healer brought in warrior and smooth sailing.

Your first one isn't too different than mine (and I forgot to mention I do Swiftcast T4 to grab everything up first lol insomnia brain, sorry). What I am doing differently though, and I guess not realizing it, is converting in between two flares when I probably have enough mana with the umbral hearts to do it twice and then convert. I'm not sure if that will make a difference as flare convert flare is the same flare flare convert, but it'll mean that convert is saved for the second round of the rotation? I am going to try your second option though. F1 has a much shorter cast time than fire 3 even with the umbral ice helping; it might help out in cases where I've already used swiftcast and it's on cooldown.

Yeah, the umbral heart makes flare only burn 2/3 of your mana so you will usually have enough left to flare again so long as you got a B4 in before your burn phase. Lets you save convert for pulls when you use the 2nd opener(or for bosses or emergencies or whatever), or use it to add a 3rd flare to your opening round(UH-Flare Flare Convert Flare). Now that im thinking about it, the rude person in your previous party probly was working with old info. The pre-SB aoe rotation was F3(via proc or otherwise) F2 F2 Flare(with optional Convert Flare and Potion Flare) Trans F3(hardcasted as soon as you got a server mana tick) and repeat - the rotation was just a little longer then the cooldown on transpose so you just kept going infinitely(though doing nothing for up to 3 seconds waiting on a server tick then hardcasting you second slowest spell was never fun). As for new things to try, some of the theorycrafters even suggest this version: B3 Eno B4 Sharp T4 F3 Flare Swift Flare Convert Flare Trans Foul repeat from B4. Throw the T4 proc in when the timer starts to get low - around the first flare is probly good, and just ignore the CDs that arent up. With the potency on F2(it used to be higher) the break-even point for where you get more damage by including a couple F2s versus pumping out more flares by cycling through the rotation quicker is supposed to be somewhere between 4 and 6 mobs(though some people who dont know the rotation will question you not using F2, and too many flares too quickly can be rough for some tanks to keep up with - so buyer beware). Of course, since youve run your own numbers before you can test these all out and find the one that does the most and feels best for you.

What is it with people in Rabanastre? I did a run yesterday and there was a mentor MCH who died 14 times (15 including the wipe) and would have died more if myself and the RDM didn't let him lie on the floor often. I mean, we left him dead for like the last 15-20% of Hashmal. There was already a billion resses going out and my cohealer wasn't helping (she never really raised and she died 11 times herself).

The thing that really made me go "wtf" was when the MCH raised as the room was being split by the pillars. He said "this boss hates me!" then proceeds to move into the middle of the pillar aoes before they fall and instantly dies again. Like come on dude.

Maybe he was lagging really bad because I lost count how many times he got hit by Crush Weapon.

If you're a guy who played all 3 tanks, got them to lvl 70 and probably know what kind of difficulties come with them....then good lord why in the hell, when I'm the tank and you're a DPS or a Heal, are you trying to ruin everything, by aggro-ing everything before me, not waiting for new players to reach the boss room, aggro the boss before I do and many other things ?! Even when I told you to stop ?!

WHAT KIND OF PLEASURE ARE YOU GETTING FROM DOING THAT YOU SICK PERSON ?!

Good thing you got kicked though....I've been meeting a lot of these people recently and they make tanking just not fun

Sadly, mentor status is like throwing a rock into the ocean...you are guaranteed to get it in.

As for raising when the pillars were going to drop...that is honestly them being VERY bad at timing. I don't give much credit to the "lag" most people say they have(a few people have slipped and said they just weren't paying attention in party chat when they meant it for a LS or FC).

No no. They didn't raise into the pillars. They raised as Hasmal jumped away and then walked into the pillars.
