I'm looking to gear BRD and fishing for Rabanastre drops. The queue on a DPS was 30+ minutes so I pop in on WHM where it's almost instant.
My cohealer is close to me in health and upon closer examination has several more classes at 70. I get excited - not often I get a good cohealer in a PUG, much less in an instance where it can matter.
In hindsight I could have probably avoided our only wipe if I just stopped expending resources rezzing and healing my cohealer. He took a lot of avoidable damage, far more than our RDM who announced he was new from the start.
This other WHM cast one raise (for our party at least, though I'm pretty confident it was only one overall) and that was to raise me when I died to getting cornered in on Extreme Edge by some poorly placed Jagged Edge AoEs. At one point I watched him run out of the safe side for Extreme Edge and into the center. I didn't raise him that time.
We finally wiped during a golem phase on Hashmal when I went OOM and just couldn't do it anymore. He and the rest of the party went down real quick.
I try to not call any specific person out over one wipe, I'm keeping my mouth shut and my party tells him a bit about himself. I just stay quiet then tell them we'll be able to clear this time around.
To his credit he started healing a bit more at this point though still not very effectively. We didn't wipe anymore but we got close a few times. I scaled back my DPS quite a bit to make sure I could keep my mp up.
End of the story is I wound up with all 7 comms which was nice but it was hard to be happy about it because that other WHM was just so bad. I am still kinda bothered by it. I'm of the opinion that every party member should at least be offering enough contribution to offset the mp cost to keep them alive and just... ugh.
But 7 comms! Yay! Gonna try to focus on that!
