Decide to queue for Leveling and I get the level 63 dungeon. We have a PLD, WHM, NIN/MNK/SAM, and myself on MCH. The four of us say hello, and the healer buffs us. The tank asks the healer if they're alright with big pulls. We awkwardly stand there for almost two minutes before the tank says, "Alright, lol. I guess we'll try. " Everyone is full i270 or above so I don't see why this would be an issue.

    Boy was I wrong.

The PLD pulls the first 2 groups and pops Rampart while he/she and I start AoEing. This healer is spamming the heck out of them with Cure Is, the melee is standing beside me with his arms folded... not DPSing. The tank is dropping fast. They're spamming Clem, popping cooldowns, and even end up HGing while trying to get some MP back so they can Clem spam when it falls off. I'm trying to give this healer and tank MP, but it's a lost cause and we wipe.

None of them seem to have broken gear. I don't really understand how we managed to wipe on the first group of trash, but whatever. The tank apologizes and says they'll pull smaller. After the healer buffs us up again they pull one group at a time and we kill them fine (the melee is actually helping now). The tank gives a 15 second countdown before the first boss. No one's said anything aside from the tank apologizing, so I decide to reassure him with a, "Hiccups happen. We're alright."

Nothing of significance happens until we get to the second boss. When we're all grouped up at the door the tank gives another 15 second countdown. When this countdown hits 0 the melee decides to say "Wait". By then it's too late, the tank has pulled, I'm doing my opener, and the healer is healing. The melee runs out of the boss room and locks themselves out of the fight.

    "Useless tank
    elitist
    you never stop moving
are you just blind or stupid?
(healer's name) and me have broken hotbars"

Keep in mind until this point, neither of those two had said a word other than "hello".

"Okay. I can wait after boss," The tank says. "I had no idea. I wish someone would have said something sooner."

And this guy just loses his freaken mind. Swearing at the tank, demanding their healer friend stops healing the tank so we wipe on the boss and they can kick him. So the healer stops healing, thankfully this guy is a PLD and is able to keep the two of us alive so we can finish the boss. The tank immediately grabs the loot after the boss dies and tries to calm down the melee who is still freaking out. I'm trying to back up the tank, calling these two out for their BS because they had more than enough time at multiple points in this dungeon to say something.

This fight is a lost cause and this tank knows it. I know it. The tank and I are the ones holding up loot so I say to him, "(Tank's name), pass on loot. Trust me." The tank passes and I open up my party list, then I pass too and quickly launch a vote dismiss against this melee. It passes instantly. The tank then says to the healer, "We won't kick you, if you want to stay we'll wait for you to fix your hotbars. Just let us know when you're ready."

For a moment the healer stands there, we think maybe they're going to ditch their awful friend and fix their hotbars. But the moment passes and they say, "F*ck you" before leaving as well.

We get a new DPS and healer almost instantly. The tank is able to pull as much as they want and everything goes smoothly for the rest of the dungeon. When we finish the last boss the tank asks the two new members we got to commend me, explaining that other two members were a premade and harassing him. I leave the dungeon with 3 commendations and sent a friend request to the tank.

People have no idea what to do with the brown markers in Rabanastre. I've had people follow me around with them, I've seen them all stack on top of each other. But the one thing that that bugs me the most, was during the control tower. He started the ground AoE, people had the brown markers. The people with the markers stood right at the edge of the AoE. I would much prefer them stacking together than spaced like that so no one can do anything. And what is with people following me with the purple puddles. Its Nox all over again.

And while I'm complaining about Rabanastre, what is wrong with the drops. Two runs, not a single healing piece dropped. But Lancer gear did. In both runs. No what we didn't have in either of those runs? Dragoons. Whose that dropping for? I know it's been suggested since Void Ark, probably since LotA, but why not have gear drop for what's in the party? And it's not about gearing alts. First boss dropped DRG gear. No one picked it up. Second boss, same thing. Four out eight pieces of gear gone because no one wanted it. Can we spend these coins on gear?

Leveling duty roulette on my DRK, I land a Qarn, nbd. First time we run into the boss with the doom debuff, both DPS wipe immediately. Explain the mechanics to them & take two. They die again. The healer can't keep up with revives when they take turns dying every other doom (I was actually surprised she kept at it). The healer inevitably runs out of mana, we wipe. Rinse and repeat what, 5 times? Probably could've cleared it faster if we'd left them on the ground and DPSed it down ourselves. I think it took 30mins on that boss alone.

Next stop, Golem. I mark the soulstone with a <1> for them to attack. I wonder why it's taking so long to take it down and realize that myself and the healer are the only ones on its enmity radar. The DPS hadn't even touched it. I spam the marker on and off trying to get their attention. Still, nothing. Time to dish out some sweet tank DPS. I ended up turning off Grit and soloing the thing down the entire time.

As for the last boss, just picture the healer running for their lives, kiting five stones that the DPS either hadn't touched or kept killing off the panels.

To be fair, one of them was new (the other wasn't a sprout or low level so idk what's up with him.) Either way both the healer and I stuck it through to the end, but was it ever an adventure.

tl;dr - Sunken Temple of Qarn took 45mins to clear

Weeeeell, I do have a story, about people not doing things, doing wrong things, me rezzing and healing like mad on my SCH, but, I don't feel like I have any room to talk, so, just use your imagination...

If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your next exciting adventure healer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

I can relate completely. Not to just off-job gear dropping, but to double gear dropping! Practically every run I've done of Rabanastre the first and second boss drop the same gear from the first chest. Example: 2 Dragoon Pants, 2 Monk/SAM Belts. Give a counter to how many times something drops, and that the same item doesn't drop in the run unless multiple people roll for it.

I admit to sometimes being a bit of a DPS-happy healer. I tend to run roulettes with friends who know this and they might spend a bit more time in tank stance because of it but WHM is a dungeon steamroller so no harm no fowl. A pug tank today found a way to shut that down real fast.

Today I queued for expert alone, it was getting me enough creation to pick up my 330 AST weapon. I got Temple of the Fist with what I am pretty sure was a premade PLD/NIN/RDM.

Right from the start things were a bit suspect, the DPS focused down the first moss wall together and the tank took off running up the stairs. He pulled every mob up to the first boss area. I've never actually seen that done involving even the couerls from the opening area. I am literally spamming Largress'd Cure II on him and at one point the RDM eats an AoE but I can't heal him back up because if I stop funneling health to this PLD he will die literally instantly.

Every area is like this, pull everything possible all the time. He only stopped for the bosses, the stone door between bosses one and two and the fog between bosses two and three.

I will say the RDM was on their mana shift button, that's what they got my comm for. Everyone knew mechanics and performed them for the most part. DPS was so good we never even saw Tapas from the second boss and I think only one Touch of Slaughter from the final but hot damn I was happy to get out of there.

Dungeons like that are not enjoyable at all. I get the whole desire for efficiency, but the stress it causes, especially to healers, just makes it un-fun.
One pack at a time is too slow, 2-3 (depending on what the mobs are) is fine by me. Sure, the dungeon takes 5 minutes longer but I can live with that.

Just got out of Baelsar's Wall for the first time as an AST. Our tank (Sygma Ryuoka from Jenova) was running it for his first time entirely (his MSQ thing) and I've only done it once before, as a BLM. We had a mentor ninja (Varik Sandborne from Balmung), and Cain Locke from Balmung was our BLM. Everyone did really well, except poor Varick was killed at the second boss (Dynamic Sensory Jammer) and because my swiftcast was on cool down and my Ascend has a nearly 8 second cast time, I couldn't do anything for him. Still, we finished all the way to the end. Last boss fight, I had forgotten the mechanics and our tank asked for help. Ninja mentor explained it briefly but well and in we went. All was going swell until I got chained three times but thankfully I anticipated it and had spammed out aspected helios (while on Diurnal) and everyone lived through it. Except me because part-way through being chained, the AOE was thrown down underneath me and I died.

It was a good run, to be honest though. My only complaint is that it was SUCH a good run, and they were all so friendly, I could only give one comm. It absolutely sucks that, when groups are that nice and engaging (and forgiving), you can't give more than one. I gave mine to the newbie tank, but I still felt a little down that I couldn't commend the others.

If any of them read this, thanks for the enjoyable run and please keep being as nice and you all were.

Went ahead with my mentor roulette last night after getting home. Ended up with a synced Shiva run. There were 4 or 5 mentors. Most surprising thing, not a single one left until AFTER Shiva was dead. That was definitely one of the most enjoyable, and friendly, mentor roulettes I've been in where we get an ARR EX primal, and nobody drops right away...or even after two wipes(that's all...first attempt got her to ~27%, second not as good, third killed).

TBH so far I've only had one bad experience. Note i just started like a month ago and just before this happened I had lost my sprout icon.

Was running Shisiu of the Violent tides as my Ninja. I qued for dungeon and it pretty much instantly popped not really giving me enough time to read about the instance. So I come in and let party know it's my first time in here and tank simply says "dont suck". I pretty much know at this stage that he will be an elitist jerk.

I ignore it and we start running the dungeon (id like to think I'm not terrible, ea I shadewalker tank, use my aoe's, trick attack etc). As i said I didn't read up on dungeon, no one explained shit so I'm figuring mechanics out as I go. We get to the 2nd boss, I didn't know when to use the chests so get hit by that mechanic and tank says Vortex are you retarded?
At this stage the healer says "Whats your problem?" Tank simply says I'm not talking to you. I once again ignore him.

We get to last boss. I get hit by his gaze attack (i knew it was coming turned away, but turned around too early to get back to dps boss and get hit) at that stage the DRK tank starts going nuts insulting me etc. I had enough so I defend myself. We finish kill the boss and thankfully the two other party members I was with help me out saying he told us its his first time here and so on... More insults get thrown around and Tank leaves just saying get gud...
I have to say I'm happy i got backed up and it speaks volumes to the community in the game. I guess they both felt bad for me as I got two commendations out of that run lol
