Casual player tip to all the vet tanks that queuing MSRoulette, and getting frustrated with newb tanks: those dungeons are likely the first experience with a full party for these players. Instead of squabbling about hate and repeatedly calling MT, try explaining that, as a secondary (and unfortunately in those instances now, unnecessary) tank, they don't need to keep their tank stance up, and don't need to worry about Overpower/Flash at all. I mean, set aside your own frustration for a moment and consider how confused new players must be in those runs that work completely different from every other dungeon they've run.

Which, actually, I wonder if that's a change SE could make in the future, remove the second tank like they did for Labyrinth.

I am somewhat comforted having read so many different sites, here and Reddit etc., of healers (particularly ASTs) having a great deal of trouble with him though.
The Vault would be Erzbasilika (german) i think. I just hit 70 with my first char (WHM), and the first time i did hit this dungeon while following the MSQ i was close to puke at the last boss. We made it, no wipe or deads, but i was sweat-soaked IRL after that.

And i bet my group was close to puke at the beginning seeing an sprout as an healer also :-)

But i was lucky, had an tank who knew what to do.

Had a sprout in Cutters Cry just a bit ago, a BLM. First boss, I notice a worrying sign. Hardcasting fire 3 exclusively. At least he's using blizzard and convert, but still. I take a moment during mob pulls (I was the healer) to explain why that's a bad idea. To his credit, he said ok and switched back to normal fire. Second boss, tank calls for the mage LB, which never comes. The other DPS, a BRD, ends up using it. I ask after the boss if he knows what a Limit Break is, to which I get an "Ik". I suppressed my inner "Ok so why didn't you use it then" and continue.

Last boss comes, both he and the other DPS get taken out instantaneously by something, not sure what. I swiftcast rez the bard, step out of an AoE, and prepare to rez the BLM. But I can't target him. What happened?

    He released to the entrance.

The tank goes down shortly after when he fails to dodge an AoE in time and gets shredded. He was a tad undergeared, lot of pink high 20 stuff but he was holding agro, using CDs, and not being shredded like wet paper so I didn't mind. Cue me running in circles with the boss on my tail as I try to hardcast a raise, the swiftcast still on CD. Somehow, I get it off when he stops to fire an orb and then use an eye spell (Blue, thank god) and we manage to recover and kill him.

At some point during all this, the BLM is back at the gate after having died at least once to trash mobs he somehow managed to pull on the run back (Probably took a wrong turn at the corner where there's the path with the chest). I try to type as the boss dies and explain that he should stay in the room when he dies so I can rez him, but he makes a beeline for the exit and leaves before loot is even rolled on. The other two players commend me on my healing and sympthise with what I was trying to do. One summed it up very well. "Some people just don't want to learn". I got both comms (Clearly the BLM wasen't hanging around to hand one out), and the tank got my comm for doing well in gear I suspected he might have problems in.

That reminds me I ran a MSQ roulette recently where people were getting huffy because one of the tanks kept stopping as soon as they hit one mob versus grouping them all together. I thought they might be new so I checked and

Which was made even more confusing by the fact that they were wearing HEAD TO TOE level 60 tank gear. Not the set one gets from using a jump potion either.

Not all that remarkable but it's just one of those confusing things that can throw you for a loop during a run sometimes y'know?

So, I have seen many horrors on my way, leveling various jobs to 70, but nothing I felt was truly worthy of this thread.

Tonight though, wooooh, do I have a story. I was leveling an alt, level 43 WHM (at the time) trying to get past the level block to Garuda NM. So, I queue up for Stone Vigil. Easy peasy, right? NOPE. Wrong, so very, very wrong. I zone into a group with a WAR, RDM, and NIN, who as it turns out, were a premade. We say our hellos, and then the tank sprints off to begin a pattern of the most, absolutely insane pulls I have never seen in there, and pray to the gods, I never see again. He pulls the whole first hall, ducking around corners and into a side room, and proceeds to *dance* around the mobs as if he has absolutely no clue how dodging works in this game. Truthfully, I think this was absolutely the case.

From the first seconds of the pull, I am internally screaming "oh no, please no, don't do that, ohhh crap!" inbetween bewildered O.o o.O dafuq is this tank doing?!

Next, before this crazy pull is entirely dead, he pulls the leftovers into the big room, you know the one with all the aevis, etc, and proceeds to pull ALL THE THINGS. This was pretty much the pattern of the entire instance, pulling more than I ever seen, sprinting, dancing with the mobs, pulling mobs into boss rooms. I would like to say that my pitiful mana pool and limited recovery skills at this level were up the task and nobody died, but sadly, after the first boss, on the pulls of insanity tour of SV there were several wipes.

The most memorable one, and actually kinda hilarious, to the point that in retrospect, I wish I had been recording; occurred after the second boss (which went surprisingly smoothly, despite the boss being tanked in the middle). This WAR zoomed from the second boss, grabbing mobs and racing off for more, until he had a number of mobs I will simply classify as way, way, way, way too many, and then while I'm frantically trying to heal him, races off down the halls.

Picture this, dear readers: Big aura WAR, booking it down the halls of SV, with an at least 15 mob conga line chasing his ass. Just... wut.

Yup, clearly does not understand how dodging works.

After this wipe, I seriously considered just eating the penalty, but eh, only one more boss to go and I would be free of this hell. So I sucked it up and finished it out. Now, I will say, that throughout, no one once blamed me, and in fact, the tank did admit to lots of fault there. I just simply said "just keep in mind, I can't heal around corners :< " To which he apologized, and stated that he was just trying to keep the mobs from <censored> him in the arse.

Finish up the dungeon, and zone out to 3 comms and a friend request. O.o Yeahhh, in the words of Butters - I'm gonna have to click decline.

There are some days where I believe that if there's a god out there, he must sure must hate me a lot.

Decided to level my bard this morning and ended up in Halatali with a conjurer that would do nothing but DPS. After our tank died two times because he got no heals, he left the group. A new tank joined shortly afterwards, but the same thing happened over and over again. At one point our healer started to pull mobs aswell, ofc not healing himself all the while. We kicked him shortly afterwards and I rejoined as a scholar.
By the way, nope, healer was not new. Hat at least two classes at 60 (bard and dark knight I believe), so that's no excuse playing this bad.

Now, after finishing the run I thought it would be fun playing around as a scholar for a while. The first two dungeons went fine, but then I joined a in progress Quarn-run, with both healer and tank gone. Well, I thought, one of them was probably bad or something. Oh, how wrong I was...
After a new tank joined in and we were good to go, I noticed that our lovely summoner did nothing but healing. HIMSELF. Like wat. I asked him politely what he was doing but ofc got no response. After he died on the first boss due to not running onto the platform and still just healing himself I asked him again if he knew how his class worked. No answer. A few minutes pass by with me trying to throw out as much damage as possible, a black mage who occasionally goes afk for a minute and a summoner who would still do nothing but healing himself with his tank pet out (that didn't attack btw) I had enough and initiated a vote kick.

    WHICH GETS DENIED.

After that, I sat there a few seconds in silence, life flashing before my eyes, before I left without another word.

Wanted to do something other than be a tank, so I was lvl'ing my archer. Got Sastasha, normal mode. All players aside from me are sprouts, and somebody is new to the dungeon.

Honestly couldn't be mad at the healer. They were obviously new, kept disconnecting and was watching every cutscene. Tank and LNC kept running ahead, but I waited behind. They were struggling to heal, but I think it had something to do with their connection.

Lancer was aggro'ing his own enemies and tanking by himself. Very irritating. He even unlocked the Captain's Quarters and was fighting the reaver himself. He came very close to dying many times.

The tank wanted to go in the little rooms, but it was obvious the LNC didn't care. They activated the cutscene for the last boss and the tank replied with a "...". Tank was on the other side of the room, not even close to the boss area. I was just hoping that LNC wouldn't rush to try and solo it.

After the boss, LNC left straight away. I stayed to say "good job" to the tank. I hope that healer is doing well.

Get something like it in Expert Roullete few days ago. It was Skalla (I was rdm) where suddenly gone tank and dps. Next tank come very quick and dps too and we started... and finished on first boss where our heal only dpsing and healin himself. No protect, no responce. We think it was bot, because right after boss he by himself aggro mobs, then trying hit them by us. Then we just walk away and watch like this bot running from start dung to mobs, healing himself about 10 minutes. We cant kick him, because he always was in battle, so we give him few mobs more and then kick him off.

Here's a nice fun story. Go into Rabanasty with three FC members. They were SCH, SMN, and BRD. I was on my RDM. First boss: The orbs aren't being attacked, alliance C isn't dodging ANYTHING(this is where I knew the run would be one of those runs), and the serpents are dying super slow on the other alliances(note: We have a PLD, WHM - get to him in a second -, and two other SMN). No wipe on first boss(WHEW!). Second boss...B and C are dropping...like a ton of bricks. WHM in my party, who was at damned near full MP the ENTIRE raid, pipes up "rdm rez", we wipe once because, well, like hell I can rez 80% of the raid with my MP without help from the WHM(SCH was helping rez...and was almost always less than 50% MP due to actually healing, and DPSing).

Second try of Hashy, get a little bit further into the fight, C is still dropping to everything(pillars mostly), WHM pipes up for me to rez again. At this point, I'm at 1/5 HP, standing beside the WHM who is doing NOTHING, and Quake is about to go off. I don't have time to cast Vercure to save myself, so I end up dying. Wipe again shortly after that. As we spawn back, the SMN from FC says "the healer should heal and let DPS DPS".

Medica II was the majority of his healing...throughout the rest of that raid, I raised, and cured, more people than the WHM did. Hell, just during Roffy did I heal and raise more people than they did the ENTIRE raid. Got one of the music scrolls from that...but not even a comm, even from the two SMN that weren't in the FC and I threw raises/cures their way to the point where if I didn't have Lucid constantly giving me MP, I wouldn't have been able to DPS at all.
