Well, technically you can't really say you've "mastered" a job if you don't know how it interacts with others. But I'm just splitting hairs at the phrasing here. Your point still stands.Maybe that's just it: maybe they don't know how other healers work. If they just master one healing job, they're not going to think how their stance is benefiting or being a detriment to another healer.
Of course, at the end of the day, it wouldn't hurt them to ask why they gotta switch.

It's a common problem but not only for SCH, I've had ASTs not picking a sect before battle. I go noct, and when they realize their aspected skills won't apply any effect they immediately got noct. Are you blind?! Did you not see me going Noct before?
Actually, I once had an AST co-healer who replaced my AoE Balance card with a TP card. It had been on for like 10 secs only, and I just let her know so she double checked the next time she used a card. After we cleared the fight she said 'We didn't need your Balance to clear this, did we?'.
I was speechless.
They were just salty they got caught not paying attention so they try to make you out to be just overreacting when all you were trying to do was coordinate with your cohealer properly.Actually, I once had an AST co-healer who replaced my AoE Balance card with a TP card. Sort of like that AST I posted about previously who rage quit a trial roulette because I simply reminded them maybe a minute into into the fight to choose their sect because they forgot to put one on.
Working together and coordination is such a foreign concept to some people in this game.
That's your own perspective. To me, wasting six other people's time > my time wasted. I refuse to wipe a party because I'm upset with one person, I refuse to wipe a party, period. That's a selfish mentality, and to inconvenience a group when you're being inconvenienced (that's all it is when a Astro puts on Nocturnal in an easily clearable content) is dumb, childish, and fundamentally wrong on all levels. Would I leave a group that's frustrating me? Hell yes, I'll take the penalty. That isn't the case here.
Actually, it is the case, so stop making up details to try and prove some misguided point of yours. I tried to leave the party immediately, but the tank had pulled and we were locked in combat, at which point, it doesn't allow you to leave. That's your own perspective. At this point, I'm done wasting any of my daily posts on you. Have fun riding that white horse into the sunset.

That reads completely different than what you're saying now. Either way, you're missing the point entirely. There's a common trend that some, not all, of the posters here feel they're above a standard they created for the the player base. My point is simple - hold yourself to those standards. Don't throw a tantrum, no matter how little or big you think it is. Or don't, and pretend like you're the only person playing the game.Originally Posted by NorthernLadMSP
Next run, I get stuck with another AST who actually queued in as Diurnal. As we're waiting for the tank to ready, this AST changes to Nocturnal. Again I say, please change to Diurnal. No response. At this point I'm really pissed. I stood there until they wiped and then took my 30 penalty.
If we're going to talk standard's here, let's mention one.Actually,

How about when you're level 70 you know at least the basics of your job. I shouldn't have to teach people stuff they get super early on. Throwing AST sect's out of the window for a second here, there's stupidly enough SMN's that can't dot or ruin, SAM's that forget they need to finish combo's, BLM's that forget fire spells exist so they don't need to spam freeze, DRK's that don't know what darkside is, etc etc. At 70. In end game content.
Also, take note on something here. They had to deal with it multiple times. Imagine if you kept having to deal with it. You'd find it much less fun. I know I did. I hate tanking because of it. I had to request fc members on my alt to even bother with my dungeon because I didn't want another 30 minute snail run due to being the only one with a basic understanding.
Also, a last note. Poster about it was kind. They just let the group wipe. I have a shorter temper on repeated offenses. If they did that, and can't solo heal it, we're not finishing it. I'm not taking penalty. Either they'd change, or they'd have to kick me. I don't take kindly to AST's that Noct with scholars. It's basically flipping me off.
SCENE: Castrum Meridianum, a very long time ago.
CAST: 2 ASTs, myself being one of them.
The other AST was barely doing their job, forcing me to keep everyone alive. In addition to this, I was having the worst of luck with cards. But at Livia Act I, I finally managed to get an AoE Balance lined up. I held that, all throughout the first fight, for a solid five minutes. The moment everyone was ready for Livia Act II, I threw out that AoE Balance... only to watch the other AST replace it with AoE Ewer. I flipped out, and all they said was that they weren't going to pay attention.
To this day, I refuse to ever do Main Scenario Roulette ever again, and I sincerely hope they fell down a dry well.
I'll confess to something though, there was this run with another AST where she'd throw all her cards even if they were trash like she was the only healer.
What really ticked me off was that I waited for her to use her good cards before using mine, but she couldn't bother to do the same and replaced aoe arrows and balances for boles and MP/TP. So I started to throw mine immediately after she used hers on purpose x'D
