I mean, the AST's in this are basically saying, "We don't need the SCH shields." That's pretty rude, but it's also a challenge. I'd honestly take it as the AST saying they can solo heal it (Which it's V4 normal. They can. I have.)

Specially the second one. Person had to change from regen to shield after going in, meaning there's no excuse.

The times I've rage quit instances for this trash... just not worth it. I wish they'd at least bother to learn a bit about their job and how it affects the other healer before going in blind.

Maybe that's just it: maybe they don't know how other healers work. If they just master one healing job, they're not going to think how their stance is benefiting or being a detriment to another healer.

Of course, at the end of the day, it wouldn't hurt them to ask why they gotta switch.

And yet, you wasted their time by creating a wipe, not including the time needed to find a replacement (if they found one). Do you not see how you were griefing?

At this point I'm really pissed. I stood there until they wiped and then took my 30 penalty.

That group probably got another healer and completed the run. Nothing of value was lost.

Sad thing is, this isn't always the case. It's not unusual to see actual explanations being provided and the get replies like
"Not like it matters here"
Or the most hilarious one "sorry I main x sect AST only"
Or just no response being given
It is annoying at BEST.

Sorry, man, as bad as I feel for you *as someone who is currently maining BLM and eating DPS queues* after some time of seeing this over and over again your patience just starts wearing very, VERY thin.

For the sake of my own sanity I'm going to have to assume you're joking or purposefully playing devil's advocate because this is some of the most nonsensical stuff I've read and I am active in the healer forums.


As for my own experience I was also a SCH queueing for 8man content. I got Nidhogg the Magic Dragon for DR: Trials and the dreaded double-SCH comp. I had like 22k HP I think and my co-SCH had 16 so I asked if she needed anything explained and then, of course, the tank pulled.

My SCH is a bit rusty for sure, I've mained WHM and fiddled mostly with AST this expansion. She seems to be doing okay, she dies once to Horrid Roar but that can get anyone.

Then the Ak Morns start.

She is the first one targetted and she is standing still but two DPS arw running towards her so I swiftcast a succor and throw down a Sacred Soil. The DPS keep right on running, she and I eat it, wipe soon follows.

Before anyone says ANYTHING she says 'sorry, first time, wasnt sure what to do' and the OT (who didn't stack) and some DPS start picking on her, saying she should know that mechanic from the moogle fight.

I am immediately super pissed and I say it's as much my fault as hers because if I just didnt stack I could have ressed her and moved on but I thought (two dps) were gonna stack with us and didn't, one of which was part of the bullying.

MT is having none of this conversation apparently and pulls. I debate not even helping because I think my coheal getting a quick explaination is more important than an impatient tank but since my coheal was in there I jump in too. She winds up dying to Horrid Roar again as well as to the impact marker once but she performs ak morns just right in the final phase.

I stuck around after and gave her a full explaination, also walked out with 4 comms. To that OT and those DPS - ugh, just ugh. You guys are disgusting people and I hope your cats all pee on your consoles/pcs.

That's pretty much how I feel about it as a SCH. If an AST won't move out of Nocturnal while I'm there I'm essentially assuming they want to main heal and I'll stop throwing out shields entirely unless I catch the AST being lazy. Which, sadly, is often. The times I've been with a Noct spec AST who /only/ occasionally shielded the tank even with incoming party wide damage is enough to boggle my mind. At 60-70 I'm generally a lot more forgiving of it since I have a lot in my arsenal to put out heals without shielding, but 50 and lower I get a bit salty due to SCH's raid wide heal potency being absolutely garbage at those levels.
