I've seen a guy in PvP named President Trump.....Did an expert today where I landed in a party with someone named after president Trump. The healer got triggered, allowed the tank to mass pull while he stayed at the entrance and went on a mini-rant (that I didn't bother to read), let the party die and then promptly dropped. Not trying to throw politics in here but that was what happened. /shrug
"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."
Long post ahead.
Had two pleasant experiences in levelling roulette today before work, before and after roulette.
First as GLD, getting into Copperbell. There were some weird issues where the mobs kept leashing but coming back, and randomly, the Blizzard-spamming BLM left our group... but I loved the AST we got. She did damage, kept her DoTs up, and let me double-pull without complaint (since BLM has Fire II at that level). It's not god-tier play or soloing the last boss or anything, but she used all her skills, and it was refreshing to see.
Second run: Halatali. The one who stood out here was a MCH, actually. She pulled chains, listened for my call to LB, and did her job. She didn't say a word the entire time, but you got the feeling she knew exactly what she was doing. I checked after and she only had one job to 70, with maybe four unlocked. If she was new, she was great.
And then third was my levelling roulette last night which I, unfortunately, had to leave. Went as level 70 DRK, got the 69 dungeon. Our healer was a new SCH -- and not just new to the dungeon, but a title-less sprout. (Jump potion, maybe?) The SAM was new as well, and we had a MCH who was not. The MCH was amazing, but the SAM and SCH...
... I don't blame the SCH for struggling. She did her best to keep me alive, even if that meant spamming Physick when I was at 100% health. The SAM, on the other hand, might as well have been auto-attacking. We reached the second boss after maybe 30 minutes, and that's where it got bad.
When the SAM died, the SCH didn't res. When the MCH died, the SCH didn't res, to the point that the MCH took the teleport back to the beginning. At this point, the boss was probably at 69%, with constant roomwide damage since the towers weren't filled. The SAM stayed down, and eventually, I spoke up.
Me: wipe
SCH: [Physick]
Me: stop healing
SCH: [Physick]
Me: (Heal!)(Stop!)
... and by that time she died, so we finally managed to reset the boss. I'm pretty sure her faerie was dead way before then.
We ran alllllllll the way back to the boss and took him on again. This time went much better: SAM avoided AoEs, learned the boss's pattern, and slowly but surely, he died! I'll admit I made some mistakes myself, like dropping Grit the first time, but we got through.
But quite honestly, we were (I believe) about 40 minutes deep into the dungeon. I had raid in 30, and I was frustrated. So I took the penalty and left. I know it sucks to have a tank bail on you, especially on the last levelling dungeon, but I wasn't convinced we would have made it in time.
Probably the most unfortunate experience of a new player being where they shouldn't. I think I saw one Indom total during the dungeon. I'm not trying to call this sprout a bad player, but please... learn to heal in lower-level dungeons! Healing is not a skill to be picked up right before endgame.
Honestly, I don't want to be negative or hateful, but runs like these wear on me. They make me not want to run roulettes at all, since they've been happening more and more. I know more new players are learning the game, but I'd prefer they get matched with mentors in mentor roulette, or given more help from the game itself. As it stands, it feels like a lot of players don't know what they're doing, and it's frustrating.

I guess I just wanted to provide some optimism towards DF, as while ive had some aggravating experiences, specifically with Tanks not having correct stance or holding aggro properly, generally ive found that pleasantry overiddes most hostility.
Whenever I enter a party I introduce myself, and lately in normal and savage ive been saying, "getting reps, sry in advance" at the start.
Last night in Temple of the Fist, I accidentally used the LB3 on the second boss for the boneheaded reason that I thought we were are on last boss.
immediately apologized.
No wipes, no one died.....and got two comms...
HOWEVER,
MECHANICS.....MECHANICS....
if you dont know...then ask, but yall...we do have a responsibility to explain them if people dont know.......right?

To the tank and healer that left the Aery about 10 minutes ago after a wipe on the first pull, nice rage quit you muppets. Next time either don't pull so much (tank) or pop Sprint to keep up with the mass-pull tank (healer).
Honestly, if you're on a boss and have the bar available (being a dungeon boss before the last, you would only have had 1 bar anyway), use it. With few exceptions, it'll be full again either right before or right after the last boss starts.
Dzemael Darkhold as a BRD. The DRK did relatively well. The AST specifically said they were drunk and possibly tried to hit on my character. The run took somewhere near 40 minutes.
Because the SMN. The sprout SMN. Who had no idea how to play their job.
I saw no Bane, ever. For the majority of the dungeon, they did nothing but Ruin II spam, regularly running dry on MP. I'm fairly certain most of their Aetherflow stacks went towards Energy Drain instead of Fester. I didn't know BRD could carry the DPS for a dungeon this hard, before.
It's SMNs like these that make me write off any SMN I see as incompetent until proven otherwise.
Growing up overseas, I learned British English (no accent though). Living in the US now, I get frustrated every time spell check flags behaviour and theatre. I've even been mocked for pronouncing the second "o" in chocolate, as in "cho -co-lat (ph.)" versus the way most Americans say it, like "choc-lat (ph.)". People find it odd when someone with zero accent of any kind uses non-Americanized pronunciations for words or non-American vernacular.
