Not DF but PF. As of lately I've been trying to farm Susano for the WHM and SCH weapons. Trying. Almost every group has ended in failure. Wipes have ranged from 41% down to 1%. The thing I've noticed that's consistent in these groups? People not moving for levinbolt but instead moving for churning. I just don't get what is so hard about it. Purple mark that doesn't stun you? MOVE! Giant die above your head ticking down from 3? DON'T MOVE!

Funny enough, the one pull where he's finally staying ahead, he forgets how to Vril and dies, which left a very specific ninja as the target again. Take a guess on who.

I should have seen this coming though, since he said right at the start he can hold without tank stance and I proceded to also tank one of the two adds at the start of the fight.

Co-healer apparently had massive internet problems and ended up disconnecting very early into O1 normal. With both tanks DPS stancing their way through, I came to discover that the fight is a lot more interesting to solo heal than it is to duo heal.

I got to enjoy a mini heart attack every time Charbydis came out. Ultimately it was still pretty easy to heal, but I actually had fun doing it for once.

I'm new to tanking and leveling up DRK at level 36. I end up in Qarn and tell I've not tanked it before. One of the dudes with me decides to pull some extra for me and I already know I'm not going to like this. Not surprisingly I die, healer says he has no res on the level, I say np and spawn at the beginning. I'm just about to ask them to please not pull for me as I disconnect. My internet is not down. I'll just log back in I guess.

...Except it wont let me. I check Mogstation to see my profile is inactive even though I have automatic subscription on. Shame about that first timer in there but it seems I can't log back in without sorting this out first. At least I don't have to deal with people pulling for me especially since I'm in leveling gear...

I still haven't figured out why my subscription payment is being refused as there seems to be nothing wrong with my card info or bank account. Annoying as that is I can't help but laugh when I think of how that dungeon started, my NP comment for the healer and the immediate fade out from the dungeon. They probably don't like me much after that but I can't exactly help it.

EDIT: How do I change that main class info beside my avatar? Dragoon's not my main, Bard is.

Well I feel for you on that. Simply because I've been forced to use Crysta via Paypal to pay for my sub. SE's pay systems are the worst. I mean if they don't want money that is fine. They can keep their stupid system. But while I want to play ... cryta, because at least it won't refuse Paypal... yet. and FYI. That situation has been around since ARR first launched. So I have no idea what is going on, but my end always claims its not them.

As for your forum main class? I think... that is... Settings? At the top right for forum thing near the logout button is Settings and My Profile. Click settings, on the left hand side should be a menu. Click Edit Character. And then you can alter things from there.

Just a minor complaint that's been happening lately --

Tanks early pulling so I'm locked into keeping Protect.

Like a lot of healers, I use a macro for Protect now that swaps it for Esuna once the cast is over. 9 times out of 10, this isn't an issue -- and typically, the one time it is comes from the macro not deploying right. Recently, though, it feels like a lot of tanks are pulling even before Protect is up, so I don't have Esuna ready...

... in Dun Scaith, or O4N. Which means people die, or I have to hope against hope the other healer is packing Esuna.

Technically a macro should never be used for this sort of thing, but I'm not going to keep Protect around 24/7 on the off chance that somebody dies. I just wish tanks would give us healers enough time to get our prep ready before they go. Even better, for the sake of people's rotations: use a countdown!

I feel like I've been spoiled by my static.

Another story that I just remembered:

Tanking Doma Castle as DRK; don't remember DPS, but our healer was an AST. I believe she okayed bigger pulls, so I was doing the standard 2-pull groups you'd expect for a 68+ group. Right before the second boss, though, there's a big pull you can do where you gather a group of soldiers around fortifications (the ones that shoot those big line AoEs), and drag them into the next group set up the same way. It can be dicey with how you can easily LoS the healer, but up until that point, the AST had been doing great.

And then we wipe.

No big deal; I just say I'll pull smaller for that section. Everybody's really chill with it, even the healer -- but she goes on to say that AST isn't capable of those kind of pulls. They get weak shields and regens, and not much else, as she put it. She sort of implied such a pull would only be possible with a WHM, who has more emergency CDs.

... except as an AST main, I heal that pull almost every time I'm in Doma Castle. It's hard, but not impossible. Nobody got mad or anything of the sort, but I'm pretty sure this AST misconstrued her own unfamiliarity with the job as it being bad. Kind of reminded me of a lot of forum discussions, actually...

The weirdest things get comms, to be honest. I've gotten comms as DRG a lot just for giving the tank Goad. OTOH, I can bust my butt trying to save a failing run as a healer, and walk away without anything. They're just internet points, but if you're like me and want that 3k comm mount, you get antsy. :P

I can get comms for doing nothing at all aside from DPS as a RDM, or I can get zero comms for keeping a v3/v4 from wiping because both healers died.

Honestly? As a fellow AST main, whenever I've attempted that pull as a tank, or tried to heal that pull, it's led to a wipe for one reason or another. It's surely do-able, but either the tank doesn't cycle CDs properly, the healer gets LoS'd and/or doesn't use their own CDs, and/or the DPS just isn't there and the tank runs out of CDs and the healer runs out of MP.

Maybe I've just had really poor luck with it, but I stopped trying that particular double pull when I was levelling PLD. It never seems to want to go right.
