Yeah...running out of cooldowns because you cycled them all yeah np that happens. When I see like no cooldowns except convalescence once in awhile by the second boss and healer is heal spamming because of tissue paper I'm like.....this can't be efficient use of your tank toolkit D:

I finally registered to the forums, after going through them since I started in March (actually, I just read here). So, I'll share something that happened to me yesterday morning. It's not exactly DF...this was a matched Palace of the Dead run on 51-60.

I go in as an AST, we have a PLD, a BRD, and a RDM. Floor 51 goes pretty fine, no real issues. We get to 52 and about halfway through, I notice the PLD is greyed out. I'm with the other two DPS...he must've went off on his own. No biggie to me. Just track him down and apply my heals and Aspected Benefic on him. The RDM tells him to stop pulling everything. Those two get into a little argument about whether or not it matters about killing everything vs time gained by rushing through. Myself and the BRD are staying out of this. We're just going along with the flow.


Still on floor 52, we reach the Cairn of Passage, and these two are still arguing. We get in the cairn, and the PLD suddenly hops out and says, "If this is a problem, then kick me."

Me and BRD are still just minding our business. But then the PLD starts entered and exiting the cairn, trying to force us to kick him. At this point, I finally tell him that whatever issues he has with the RDM, it has nothing to do with me and BRD. It doesn't matter if I keep him alive too with my heals. He proceeds to say that he's not continuing with this group and he wants to be kicked. He continues going in and out of the cairn, all while still arguing with the RDM. So I tell him - please get in the cairn, we all are just trying to get through this run. He then proceeds to tell us that, no, he's not going with this group. At this point, I lose my patience and tell him that he's being a total dick to the whole group because of a disagreement with one person. Me and the BRD shouldn't have to suffer because he wants to be an ass. He says whatever, so I initiate a vote to kick for harassment. Vote goes through unanimously, we get another tank, and the rest of the dungeon went pretty smooth.

Somehow, I got 2 comms out of it.

Well, this wasn't so much a df as it is a df stort, but I was partnered with a PLD who didn't use any cds on the boss, Rage of Halone spammed and did sloppy work in O1s.

I then asked him if he could pop cds on the tank buster and he asks "What's a cd?".

He didn't have a Green leaf, so he didn't take a jump potion, so that implies to me, from level 1 - 70, and going into Omega Savage, he didn't even know how to play his job correctly. Why do people think its OK, stepping into the hardest current content in game and thinking that they don't need to bring their best to actually do the content?

Not saying this is ok because he was obviously not doing his job properly, but did the only exchange go like that? Because if he wasn't a native speaker, or wasn't used to the slang, it's not a very intuitive way of asking someone to do something.

(I'm very much a native speaker and if someone asked me to use 'cds', I'd do a double take, simply because that's not how anyone I play with ever talks no matter how hard the content we're doing, and I only know it from forums. I did have some trouble with English speakers back in FFXI as they used so much slang that it was impossible for anyone using a different language client to understand a word they said. One time, I remember, someone outside my party asked me something in slang only an English-client-user could have understood and when I queried the meaning so that I could comply, they scoffed and told me to Google it rather than just explaining in plain English. It drives me nuts.)

He had English ticked, implying that he was a speaker, and it did go like that. I even gave him examples of abilties like Rampart and Sentinel and he was like "What do they do?" I even told him what cd was short for. I doubt going 1-70, after numerous dungeons of tanking you'll definitely pick up stuff like that
