Well, I try to be a nice person But thanks for your suggestion.
And I did understand your message, including the 'but the "healer" might hopefully learn a valuable lesson' part. I don't have time for that, if I can prevent a wipe I'll do it. I'm not speed running either, but letting us wipe just to prove a point seems childish. But it's personal preference, I respect that.

You shouldn't have to prevent a wipe though. Babysitting HP is in no way the RDM's job. If a wipe happens because the RDM didn't cure, something is seriously wrong.

I'm on your side here. Bad healers deserve no sympathy. It isn't about "letting people wipe just to prove a point," it's about making sure the pseudo healer doesn't continually get away with doing the bare minimum (or less than the bare minimum as it seems in your case).

Bad healers who don't try and improve deserve no sympathy, but if theres a bad healer who's bad because they need practice and are new to the class, or are having trouble with it, you should absolutely help them out.

Heck, if I see a healer trying but struggling, I will help with a Vercure or two if need be.

Okay, so I'm a DRG (and this is more of a PF story, but)
and i joined a DRG buddy's susex party with an AST mutual friend because we wanted to help them out in getting their weapon! They'd been having bad luck all day, so we were hoping for a good group and a fast clear!
but then we get this WHM.....


And immediately, right off the bat, he notices that our party has two DRGS and he immediately starts talking about how awful DRGS are-- and we're pretty used to hearing DRG jokes, but this guy just goes on and on about how DRGs always die and how he has a raise macro about people stealing DRGs' jobs. We actually also end up with a third DRG, and when the readycheck goes out, the WHM asks if 'the three floortanks are ready'. It's really awkward, and we end up trying to just ignore him because he's literally been ranting about DRGs for like 5min+ straight without being prompted, but his tirade continues even once we've queued into the fight.
By now, my buddies and I are kinda tired of this and are tempted to kick him, but we also want to see how good he is if he 's going to be talking smack about DRGs to this extent before we even begin-- the other people seem casual enough, so it's like okay YOLO, let's see how we do? I literally waste food for this; I'm that eager to show him I'm not remotely as awful as he's apparently already assumed I am.

And the results are hilarious.

This WHM actually dies more times than all the DRGs COMBINED, and to silly things, too, and he actually ends up kind of causing a wipe.
And then instead of manning up, he's like, "lol i got cleaved the last time i went down" and we're confused because how did he get cleaved when literally no one else did, unless he was standing in front of stormsplitter? (he also never got gaoled)
and during that first pull/wipe and the next, he hits us with multiple roomwide lightning aoes instead of jumping over to the other side, and his excuse is he was 'mid heal on tank', despite the fact that we have a very alive and capable AST and...the fact that he's going to have to do way more healing if he lets us all get hit by lightning just so he can finish one cast???

So we end up disbanding after that-- unfortunately didn't get our friend their drop, but it was admittedly nice seeing him eat his words.

We continued through the dun, and noticed he insisted on letting Eos cure alone while he repeatedly cast Broil (Broil and not any DoTs or Bane, just Broil), my bf popped living dead twice in trash pulls. On the last boss I saw his Red mage friend running towards Eos for heals and facepalmed. Really? This dude is not only LEECHING off us for not healing and not dpsing correctly, and his friend consents this stupid behavior? Instead of letting him know his healing sucked? We didn't die because I cast vercure on my BF when he popped LD, not because Eos handled the healing. This wasn't Sastasha or some easy dun, this one at least required healing once in a while. And Eos is not going to heal over 50% of HP.

In the end I just said "You know, it's YOUR job to heal not just Eos'", and left.

Kick healer, leave without penalty and get an instant pop when you re-queue with your tank BF. They can find another group willing to put up with his bull and since he's a healer it wouldn't even take that long. There's being patient with new/less skilled players who are trying and then there's letting lazy people waste your time and kill your enjoyment of the game. It's not being elitist when you refuse to tolerate that.

Got me killed running around while MT'ing Ramuh in trial roulette. Was like 'ok, maybe he doesn't know,' so I told him, in my usual, broad and rough way, to just stay there.

Needless to say, the response led to an exchange which I won't put up for obvious reasons.

Sounds like a SCH who 1. Used a jump potion, and 2. Never ran any dungeons past 30 before.

Anyway, doing roulettes yesterday, I started off with RDM in Leveling roulette. Cutter's Cry, and the party comp was WAR, WHM, and MNK.

With that dungeon done, I went on to Level 50/60 Roulette, again in RDM. Sastasha HM, with the party comp being WAR, WHM, and MNK.

After that dungeon, now wondering what DF is up to, I switched to BLM for Expert Roulette. Ala Mhigo. Guess what the party- nope, it's WAR, WHM, and MNK, again. All in a row. And all different people, too.

I know that feeling lol. Whether I'm on MNK or SAM the party seems to always be WHM, RDM and me while the tank varies.

Though I don't main a DRG now, when I did I always had people cracking the jokes about us floortanking 99.99999999% of the fights. They kind of dwindled down when I went into a EX roulette with 2 friends(NIN and AST), and proceeded to finish 2 of the 3 boss fights with just me and the tank alive. The more that happened, the more they realized they should stop as I would always end up turning it around(with video proof because they would deny it otherwise) to them taking that title for themselves.

I floor tank every now and again and I STILL crack jokes at DRGs. It's just a fact of life.
