Pushing more damage is fine, great even, just obviously do your main job first. It's too bad one bad player if helping some people push their agenda for mediocrity but hey, don't let me interrupt the circle jerk.
It wasn't the case for this person though. When I died, he left me dead. We did not have a raise in the PT. When the Tank died he wouldnt even bother raising him he still kept DPSing when OT picked it up. It was almost like he didn't care to do anything.
Edit: To explain what happened. messy.

Oh, please, don't get me wrong. When I heal, I'll try to throw out some DoTs or Malefics if I can afford to use the GCDs. When I'm off-tanking or am not actively taking damage, I'll switch to Sword Oath to increase my damage output. More damage going out is a good thing. That's not the problem. It's pricks like this shmuck who meld DH and expect to be able to spam Stone/Malefic/Ruin and not heal at all, or who kick the healer for not doing enough damage, or who kick tanks for not stance-dancing for maximum damage output (this has actually happened to me as I was leveling). It's the ones who worship a only-DPS-matters-forever meta when really, that only applies to the highest echelons of players in the absolute hardest content.
But please, tell me again how I'm pushing an agenda for mediocrity for decrying bad players and a toxic mentality.

You didn't do anything wrong, you're fine. I'm sorry you had such a crappy healer.
Someone is certainly full of themselves...
Wow... I don't normally like to respond but this is just beyond ridiculous.
@SlogDog
So throwing out combust and occasional malefic "just isn't good enough" and you'd kick healers who only do minimal DPS, but when you play as a healer you don't want to DPS because it's not your responsibility? Given your attitude, you getting kicked from that party was well-warranted IMO. You even had the audacity to call our fellow players "suckers" when it's quite obvious who the real sucker is. Also, how rich for you to call our community toxic and "that rude tank", when you're essentially the pinnacle of these 2 things. I love chatting just as much as the next guy, but there's time for everything. Going in to a high-end dungeon, as a healer I might add, will require your attention. How are they rude but not you, when you're busy talking about fashion on different chat? Although it's absolutely sweet and nice of them when tanks ask for permission for big-pull, they are not required to do so and so get off your high horse.
It boggles the mind that people like you exist. You're such an awful person that I wish for you to step on legos.

Huh...
So anyway, Susano EX party, last one for the day (because tenth totem and leader was tired) and in one run, both healers get KO'd by the water AoE's (I think). So as a RDM, I raise them both, pop Lucid because MP and go back to being the DPS I am meant to be. Less than 3 seconds later, both healers die again (they raised into a stack mechanic and instantly did an action, disabling red immunity). So I raise one healer, get killed by Susano and then tell them to healer LB3... and then get killed again because no one knew Susano was going to cleave the group with the tank buster (which was on the healer).
On the plus side, I now have both current EX Primal doggos. Yay me!
Go into O4 for a shaft/shot at the pet as WAR, other tank is a DRK. DRK wordlessly puts on grit and charges in, so I go deliverance, etc etc.
They proceed to use zero mitigation, and die on the 2nd Thunder III, so I provoke, defiance and take over. DRK gets raised, does not turn Darkside on, never attempts to tank swap, still says nothing for the rest of the run.
I now know that I can tank Exdeath without tank swaps, and Thunder III's debuff doesn't stack past 2. And it hits for 50k through Inner Beast. Some less than manly noises came out of my mouth when that shit connected.
At least I got my shaft.
I haven't even tried Susano or Lakshimi EX yet, too scared of toxicity.
